BrightonWonderful Whitstable!
Left on 04/22/2013 for a stay in April 2013
We were a group of 8 30-somethings, all on my sisters hen do. Having spent weeks looking for the 'perfect' available place was turning into a slight headache. Thankfully Michelle saved the day. Other properties were advertised and showing as available, and having left messages and emails they never got back to me, grrr. So getting the booking was the first part done. All the pictures did the place justice. Just what we wanted, and the right price. Its located about 10min walk into Whitstable. In all honesty, Tankerton isnt that pretty. When we pulled up outside, I thought we had gone to the wrong place as it looked more like an office. But once we got in, we were very pleasantly surprised. All rooms were nicely furnished, very homely, a lovely welcome pack waiting for us. There was a big double, a second room with a double and single, and then the bunk room with the extra bed. The hen got first pick, and went for the huge double. All beds were comfy though, and rooms decent size. And of course the hot tub! We got straight in before we unpacked! Added bonus with the entertainment system, meant we could put some music on and start as we meant to go on! Id organised activites for the whole weekend. We strolled along the seafront into Whitstable the next morning, had some comuplsory oysters, mooched around the quirky shops. Then we got the bikes we had hired, and cycled the crab and winkle way to Canterbury. We went punting when we got there, amazing. Then back for more hot tub, before we went to the Pearson arms for dinner. The whole weekend was perfect from start to finsh. Sunset Loft was exactly what we all needed. We were so lucky too as the sun was out, which completed the weekend. I can imagine in the summer it would be perfect location, as you are so close to the beach. But everything you would need is there, eg shops etc. And the stroll into Whitstable is very nice, so you dont feel too far away. Thank you Sunset Loft!

Fantastic place to stay. Very large apartment in a great location. Stayed for a short weekend with the misses and dog peppa. Loved everything about the place. Just wanted to stay in the Hot Tub everyday. Loved the welcome hamper, and the milk in the fridge was a thoughtful touch. Lots of great restaurants around locally. The Chinese across the road is well worth a visit on a Friday or Saturday night, normally have some very good entertainment on. The shower isn't the best, not a lot of water pressure. But this was soon forgotten after cuddling up on the very comfortable sofa and watching a film on the massive TV, perfect night in. Will definitely be visiting again, or to one of the other sister rentals. Thank you Michelle for making the whole weekend a very pleasent one x

We spent my boyfriends birthday at Sunset loft and we had the best time ever! The loft is just minutes away from the beach in a very convenient area of Tankerton with local shops, tea rooms and take aways!
TheLoft is inmaculate, with all the commodities , super comfy bed, massive TV projector and the amazing hot tub! we loved it! It was a lovely surprise to have a basquet with goodies from Michelle filled with local products, milk in the firdge and a bottle of sparkling wine! Nice touch!!
If you are an animal lover, this place is perfect as is dog friendly, kayla (my golden) says thanks too!
The only think i didnt find perfect was that the water in the shower wasnt hot enough and couldnt work out how to use the coffee machine! ha ha
We totally recommend it and we will defo go back again!!! -

Booked for a group of 8: 5 guys, 2 girls, 1 baby.
Great size for all of us, with very comfortable and modern facilities in lounge, kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms.
Loads of amenities nearby, and Whitstable just a 10-15minute walk (and a great walk at that - either along the beach, or through the 'castle' grounds, and around Whitstable Harbour - wish we'd made more of the local seafood.
Biggest plus points were the massive TV screen, perfect for a lazy Sunday morning watching The Blues Brothers, and of course the hot tub, which is an awesome escape in the cold winter. -

We stayed here over the Christmas period and everyone in the group was so impressed with the place. Even before our trip started Michelle was so helpful at answering any questions we had on the area/property.
The place has been decorated to such a high standard and has everything you could think of for your stay. Particular highlights for us were the L shaped sofa and the massive TV projector. This was perfect for a large group of 7 adults. The welcome basket was such a lovely touch and shows how much thought has gone in to making sure you enjoy your stay.
The area itself is beautiful and we made sure to jump on the bus (which stops outside the property) to go to nearby Canterbury for a day trip.
You won't regret booking this place!

Left on 01/06/2013 for a stay in December 2012
Sunset Loft is lovely once you step inside... We had a relaxing stay which is what we went for. The Hot tub was great although sometimes a little too hot and an outside speaker would be great so you could hear the tv and not just see a picture! The apartment was very comfortable and clean the kingsize bed was wonderful, just a shame to be woken about 6.30 each morning by road traffic outside bedroom window! Lots of takeaways on doorstep and Tesco's just across the road so never short of food. Walks along beach were nice and not far at all to Whitstable for a drink or two then a nice stroll back! We enjoyed our stay but sadly for us we probably will not return purely for the noisey location of the apartment other than that we could not fault it.. comfortable, clean and a nice little welcome pack!

Very well appointed flat with everything you need. Hot tub great, loving the projector for the cinema experience and comfy sofas. Great for dogs, straight onto the sea front.
Road can be a bit noisy but you can't have the convenience of take aways, shops and a Trsco Express without road noise. -

I had been googling for hours and hours looking for the perfect UK half term stay for myself, him indoors, dog and two teenage girls! I found it on the Kent Coast in Tankerton!
The girls loved the hot tub and shopping in Whitstable, other half the fishing on the beach and the Royal pub only 300yrds away. I loved walking the dog on Tankerton slopes and the fact I didn't have to cook as there was so many eateries/takeaways nearby. Whitstable is great for foodies and doggy people - (there's even a dog cafe ambrose Jones/'Woofs' next door! ) We all truly relaxed, it was a proper home from home ; the hot tub was lovely but the sofa, log burner and cinema screen of an evening was even nicer! (Oh and a lovely bed too!) Great customer too service thanks to Michelle, we hope to return or stay in another of your properties. -

From start to finish staying at Sunset Loft has been a huge pleasure, thanks to the excellent customer service and the fantastic accommodation.
The apartment is extremely well appointed and has everything close by that you could need - a bakery for fresh bread, fruit & veg store, mini supermarket and multiple takeaways and other eateries. This means that you only have to travel a short distance from your doorstep for all your essentials if you are having difficulty tearing yourself away from the wifi, hot tub, projector TV and other home comforts! However if you can drag yourself away, the pubs, fine dining establishments and designer stores of Whitstable are only a short bus or car journey away or even a brisk walk along the beach for the less slothful visitor. -

We were a group of seven girls split between Sunset Loft and Oyster Lounge. Both places were amazing however we spent most of the time in Sunset Lodge chilling out watching the huge TV (& eating chocolate!). Everyone enjoyed the HotTub at some point too. The property is furnished to a high standard and we all hope to go back either as a group or with our families. Really loved it!

We had a fantastic long weekend at Sunset Loft. We were hugely impressed when we arrived. All of the furniture is really high quality, the flat is extremely spacious, the Super King size bed is amazing, and we didn't even know there was a huge cinema screen in the lounge for a chilled out film and bottle of wine!
The hot tub was just as we had hoped. The roof terrace gets the sun all day and the hot tub is so secluded and private.
We will definitely be returning. I can't say a bad word about this place...loved it!! -

Having stayed at one of their other properties before (Honey Lodge) I had high expectations of Sunset Loft and I wasn't disappointed. The apartment was absolutely beautiful, spotlessly clean, had everything you could want and was in a great position. The hot tub was one of our main reasons for booking and it was well used - and we found we could even watch the huge TV in the lounge through the window! Everything about the apartment was brilliant and the huge sofa in the lounge and the massive super king-size bed in the master bedroom helped make our stay extremely relaxing. The location is excellent as you have a variety of local shops on your doorstep and you can be on the beach in 5 minutes. Booking was very easy and Chris and Michelle made sure everything was in place to ensure we had a great stay. We'll definitely be back again (and again)!

The Sunset Loft may not look that promising from the outside but once in it has immaculate and fresh decor. We were greeted with a handy basket of bread and cereals, milk in the fridge and tea bags to get us going. There's a very handy Tesco across the road and lots of good local shops for anything else you need. Good location, 2 mins to the cliff top and onto the beach. A nice 10 min stroll into Whitstable or regular buses if you can't be bothered to walk it. It's handy that you can add as many rooms as you need for your group. The key asfe is nifty too so you can always get in if your party is going out sepatately. And the hot tub is quite a treat of course! Will definitely be back.

Our long weekend stay at Sunset Loft was everything we could have hoped it would be. The apartment is clean, well presented and has all the ammenities you could wish for, not least the hot tub, cinema screen and most comfortable king size bed. The location is great, with plenty of local shops, restaurants, & take aways on your doorstep, making for a very easy weekend. Tankerton Beach is a stones throw away and a lovely stroll along the beach front brings you to Whistable within 10 mins. I highly reccommend buying fresh fish from the Harbour to cook in the well appointed kitchen or on the BBQ if you are lucky with the weather. The decked patio is a suntrap and the hot tub is a must for unwinding after a day of hustle & bustle in Whitstable's Harbour and shopping streets or a long walk along the seafront to Seasalter. I can only describe it as the perfect break, with lots to do out & about and the perfect accomodation that you just can't wait to return to. We will definitely be back!

This was just the perfect accommodation for what we were looking for. A girly hen weekend celebration, we had 8 ladies sleeping here. It is so spacious it never once felt like there were too many of us. The huge comfy sofa's, full size beds for everyone and the cinema screen all helped create the homely atmosphere I was looking for. The hot tub went down a storm, and was a great benefit when it was too chilly for the beach. Towels and bedding provided for everyone, and plenty of bits in the kitchen to keep us going (milk, juice, bread, cereal, oil, dishwasher tablets etc!). I had a fantastic stay here and we are hoping to come back again. Excellent value.

As part of our group there were 7 adults and 2 infants staying at the Loft. Everything was perfect on arrival - including welcome basket. All amenities worked well. The few problems there were were rectified immediately - which was really just an outside bulb being replaced, the bbq gas needed refilling and the outside umbrella was damaged. Chris was immediately on hand to deal with the issues promptly (thanks Chris!!)
The location was lovely and plenty of varied shops around. The regatta was on so local area was busier than usual.
The big screen projector was pretty cool - but would be nice to have Hdmi option (if you are geeky like me and want to plug in laptops/media devices etc). Hot tub was excellent and clean - even at night when temp drops the hot tub is a lovely experience.
Bedrooms were perfect and spacious - everyone slept like babies - probably more than the babies!
If this was going to be 5star for value - I would say a few plants on the decking, more cool lighting, maybe one little speaker outside so when you are watching the projector from the hot tub you can then hear it... all little things really

HertfordshireUnsurpassed quality in every way!
Left on 06/09/2011 for a stay in May 2011
This is my second stay at Sunset Loft, following an equally wonderful experience at Honey Cottage a year or so before. The quality, comfort and decor of the Loft were exceptional, and I loved the general layout of the property too.
It was inexplicably tranquil despite being within the bustle of a town, but at the same time it meant that we were in walking distance of just about every amenity we could possibly need for a stress-free holiday. We certainly didn't want for anything at the Loft itself, but its location meant we could go shopping, dining or even get a sneaky pizza without going near the car (which, for people who enjoy a lunchtime glass of wine or two, is a big bonus!). I also have a childhood-induced love of the sea, so being able to wander down for a quick breath every day was wonderful (it was well worth the wind-blown hair afterwards!).
Ultimately we would find it hard not to pick the Loft or another of the Kent Cottage Holidays properties over any other hot tub break. The only thing that prevents us from immediately booking with KCH every time we need an holiday is their extreme popularity! The evil part of me wonders if I should lie in my review in the hope that it'll free up more slots, but if anything it just makes it even more special when we do visit.
I don't know how the property is kept in such good order, but please keep going! As a shout-out to other nearby businesses who made our stay even better, I highly recommend the Pearsons arms in Whitstable (a 5 minute taxi ride from the Loft) for fantastic seafood (with very unusual beers - chocolate?!) and the best view of a Kent sunset you'll ever see, UK weather permitting. Also the Crab & Winkle a stone's throw down the beach from Pearsons - fine dining overlooking the boats that caught your dinner. -

We have just returned from a wonderful relaxing weekend in the sunset loft. The apartment was very clean, tidy and modern, with lovely touches made by the owners such as breakfast, wine and popcorn left for us to enjoy! The hot tub was a perfect way to unwind. The only shortcoming of Sunset Loft was the location - it was very noisy outside on the high street on the Friday night. However this didn't detract from our enjoyment of the weekend and we would definitely visit again.

We had a great time in Tankerton. The Loft was very clean which is really important when you've got a crawling baby trying to eat every thing she can see on the floor! Apart from three stairs which our aughter loved to practice on all on one level. Stairgate and travel cot provided at no extra cost. Perfect for dogs as mostly laminate flooring. Good for couples as hot tub to chill out in once everyone is asleep. Perfect location. Tankerton has everything you would need shop wise to self cater but still remains charming. I booked Sunset Loft for my brother's stag do, and it was the ideal place. Walking in we were all impressed, and loved the 96" screen in the lounge! Watching Total Wipeout in the hot tub was something I never thought I'd do... fabulous. The flat itself is modern, clean, warm and very spacious, with a well equipped kitchen, comfy sofas and a great roof terrace with a gas BBQ which we used Friday night. There are a couple of golf courses nearby, and we went clay pigeon shooting Saturday morning which was fabulous fun. All in all the weekend couldn't have gone better. Thanks to Michelle for making the booking process so very simple, and for the lovely email I received only a few hours after leaving thanking us for our stay. I would heartily recommend this place to anyone looking for either a quiet, romantic weekend away or with a group of friends for a chilled, fun weekend. Thanks again!

All mod cons in the kitchen and all immaculate. The best thing was the hot tub which we loved - a great relaxing asset!
Michelle kept us up to date with all the booking experience and we have no complaints here.
There is a bus outside to either Whitstable (less than 1 mile I think) or Herne Bay (about 5 miles). We visited museums in both towns. Ate well at Sunday lunch at the Lobster shack, which was reasonable value. Canterbury is close by and full of places to visit - the Cathedral is expensive but well worth it.
All in all a great weekend.
Thank you. -

On arrival to the apartment, it was a lovely welcome to find a very nice 'Welcome Hamper', and lovely bottle of wine to wind down with after the journey.
The apartment was exceptionally well laid out with modern, clean decor, and very well equipped.
The Hot Tub was great, the girls liked the fact that they could watch the large projector screen tv through the window whilst bathing.
The location was great, especially with children. lots of little shops, restaurants and takeaways, just outside the door.
Just across the road the seafront and beach, lovely to have somewhere so handy to walk the dogs.
We had a lovely, relaxing weekend and we will be returning as soon as we can, hopefully for longer.
Many Thanks

The service provided by Michelle was second to none. The apartment was spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable. Everything we needed was provided in the apartment. The location was perfect. We walked along the seafront to Whitstable and walked back along the main road, this only took about twenty minutes, the hot tub took away any tiredness. All in all "perfect"

Michelle and Chris were incredibly helpful from the moment of booking. I received confirmation of my booking very quickly along with a detailed and very useful brochure of the apartment and surrounding area. This was especially useful for booking recommended restauarants as a number of them book up quite a few weeks in advance. They also responded very quickly to any follow up questions via email before our stay.
Apart from the excellent and friendly service the apartment itself was lovely, very clean and very well equipt. The bed in particular was very comfortable. Regarding location, it is only a short walk to Whitsable, we went out for dinner there and didn't fancy driving (so we could have a few drinks) and a cab was only £3.
Overall I'd have no reservations recommending this apartment. -

This was a great apartment for our holiday and made a great base for exploring the northeast of Kent. The apartment was very modern and well equipped and everything was very clean and comfortable. It's also fairly spacious for a holiday apartment. It had all the amenities you could ask for - the projection TV was especially nice. It was also close to shops, Atms, a nice pub, and the seafront. We would definitely stay here again.

The welcome pack on arrival was greatly appreciated. The bedrooms were great, the only element of the accommodation that we all thought could improve was the sofa in the living room. Overall a great place to stay.

Stayed here on a short break and really enjoyed it. The Loft is so comfortable and you feel at home straight away. Everything you should need is in the Loft from Sky+ Box to the hot tub! Michelle and Chris were both really helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend and stay here again without hesitation.

The apartment was nothing but excellence!
Everything right down to the little details had been carefully thought about. Decorated in a contemporary style and yet very homely - the apartment had everything, from a gorgeous lounge to a kitchen that was beautiful, very functional and equipped with a luxurious coffee machine (very nice way to start the day indeed), which went hand in hand with the coffee and other treats in our welcome hamper - that left us feeling valued and spoilt.
The owners were very helpful and went the extra mile to ensure our stay was the best it could be for our time away.
Would highly recommend it to anyone, and would ask that you look after it during your stay as we will defiantly be going back.

The Loft is a great place to stay. We stayed with 5 adults and 4 kids and its was ideal, we ate out on the terrace mornings and evenings and when the kids were in bed enjoyed ourt sundowners there. Shops, pubs are all just minutes away. Good takeways all nearby. Harbour fish market about 20 mins walk. The restaurant above the market is super for fishfood lovers wishing to eat in style.
Wheelers fish restaurant in Whitstable High Street is another excellent address. -

Sunset Loft was the perfect place to stay during the Whitstable Oyster Festival this summer. The rooms were beautifully clean and airy and the hot tub was fantastic, although, sadly, we didn’t discover the underwater disco lights until right at the end of the weekend!
Highlights of the festival were definitely the Morris dancing and beer festival. But if you’re visiting at a different time of year, we would particularly recommend the Crab and Winkle seafood restaurant on the harbour and the Pearsons Arms, just round the corner.

We had a lovely break at sunset loft. The weather was fabulous which meant we could really enjoy the great location close to Tankerton Beach and Whitstable. The apartment was comfortable and spotlessly clean with lovely touches like sparkling wine and essentials provided for our arrival. Our only issue was the traffic noise (mostly in the front bedrooms) from the road outside; it normally died down by 11pm. The road is not too busy and this was not a massive issue but it did take a little bit of getting used to.

This was a much needed holiday and we had a fantastic time. The hottub was fantastic, even if it was chilly outside it didn't matter. the appartment is so nice we spent a few days just staying there, watching movies on the 96 inch projector screen which was fab! handy butchers only a minutes walk away for meat for a bbq, and tesco for everyday needs.
I for one would love to come again! -

Spotlessly clean, really well decorated apartment with finishing touches such as the hot tub and extra large TV screen which you rarely see offered in other self catering facilities.
Fully complemented with fresh flowers and a welcome basket of goodies.
Great location - easy beach walk into Whitstable and Tesco metro for your wine and pringles!

We stayed here for a weekend in June as a surprise for my partners 30th and what a great weekend it was we had a truely amazing time. We felt very much at home and cosy. The hot tub was superb and very romantic at night looking at the stars. The bed was extremley comfortable and we did not want to come home after a very relaxing and refreshing stay. We took a lovely walk to the beach and the shops we also had some great meals in the tapas and a french style resturant. We will most definatley come back again and hopefully very soon. My boyfriend and I stayed in Sunset Loft for my recent birthday. The whole stay was completely blissful. We enjoyed sunsets on the beach, walks down the coast both east and west, lovely fresh scallops from Whitstable fish market but couldn't stay away from the flat too long as it was just so comfortable and everything you could possibly want for a relaxing short or long break. The hot tub was immense and although it rained on my birthday we still managed to get some tub time! Thank you for a brilliant stay, we hope it won't be too long until we can return.

HertfordshireSunset Loft Review
Left on 05/12/2010 for a stay in May 2010
Absolutely nothing but rave reviews to follow here, thanks to Michelle and Chris keeping such a beautiful apartment in the perfect location. The quality, comfort and decor of the Loft was exceptional, and is probably in the most convenient location of any hot tub holiday my partner and I have been on previously. Being in the bustle of a small seaside town, you would expect the Loft to be a less tranquil spot than other more remote holiday homes, but you couldn't be more wrong. It was in fact very tranquil on the balcony (some nights eerily so, when all you could hear was the far off cry of a seagull!), but at the same time the location meant that we were in walking distance of just about every amenity we could possibly need for a stress-free holiday. We could stock up on our groceries, experience fine dining (try the Crab & Winkle or Pearson's Arms in Whitstable - well worth it) or even get a sneaky take-away without going near the car. It was also a real treat to be a short walk from the sea, what with us being thoroughly land-locked at home. I don't know how Michelle and Chris keep their properties to such a high standard (Honey Cottage is in the same premier league), but I hope they keep it going!
