Cottage Profile Attractive 1800 sq. foot, three bedroom cottage on Bass Lake, located on a small private road, just 10 km to Owen Sound offers a great private family vacation. Bass Lake is a pretty inland lake that is surrounded by a limestone escarpment shoreline. It is a tremendous lake for swimming, boating, and fishing. The interior of the cottage is tastefully decorated, with hardwood floors and woodworking throughout. It also has plenty of sky lights that provides a bright and airy feeling. The living area boasts a beautiful picture window overlooking the lakeside deck. Also you will find comfortable furnishings and a wood burning stove... here. Adjacent to the living area is an eat in kitchen with a dining room table that seats six comfortably. The kitchen is newly updated and covered in hickory cupboards, and granite countertops and is fully equipped for those great summer dinners. It has a fridge, stove, dishwasher, and microwave. A long island for eating and food preparation is also located here. On the lower level of the cottage is a family room for watching television and enjoying company. It also has a television, satellite reception, and DVD. Three bedrooms are found at the cottage, two with a queen size bed, and one with a set of bunkbeds which has a twin sized mattress on the top and a double on the bottom. There are also two bathrooms, one four piece, and one three piece (shower). A really nice feature of this property is the large completely enclosed (equipped with child gates) lakeside deck with an impressive view of the lake. To compliment your outdoor dining you will find a nice patio set and propane barbeque. The view from the lakeside deck is an elevated view as you look over Bass lake. There is a steep (but safe) stairway that takes you down to the shoreline where you will find a second lakeside deck and dock with sitting area. There is excellent swimming here for adults and older children. Because the water is deep off the shoreline, swimming may not be suitable for young children. The cottage is located within 15 km of many golf courses, 20 km to Bruce Caves Conservation area and 30 km to Sauble Beach. If you enjoy cycling this is a great area. The main shoreline road is paved and provides a great view of the lake on one side and the Niagara Escarpment on the other. There is also an abundance of intermediate to hard core mountain biking trails in the area. This is a nice clean, well maintained cottage.

This place was not a cottage by any stretch of the imagination! It was the owners home and it was beautiful! The "outdoor room" that was just built is simply amazing; like something out of a magazine!! It could get a little buggy at night but they had some off lanterns and we had brought our own too so once they were lit the bugs disappeared and the outdoor fireplace was so relaxing.
The walk to the water was steep and not for the elderly or small children. We lost sun at the dock by 4 pm but when you get to the top of the stairs there is still sun to be had so we used this time to have a cold drink and start to plan our dinner. All the amenities were there for renters. The kitchen was fully stocked, bbq outside, washer/dryer, comfortable beds, good stereo etc.
Highly recommend this rental!
The cottage is a home

Very quiet location, has everything you could want in a cottage and more. The kitchen was better than our own! Great swimming off the dock. Lots of steps to get down to the water and back up. If you like to fish, the lake has lots of bass but don't take to artificials of any kind.....bring crayfish!
