Cottage Profile This cottage is a one storey two bedroom cottage located a short walk away from a small public sandy apron beach situated on beautiful Colpoys Bay. This cottage is situated on a large lot, surrounded by nice grassy lawns. The side of the cottage is a private yard area with small patio with a picnic table and barbeque. The interior of the cottage is nicely decorated and has carpeted throughout. The living room has a large bay window facing the road, a comfortable couch, chair, coffee table and a propane fireplace. Also a Colour TV, VCR and DVD Player. The eat in kitchen comes equipped with fridge, stove, oven, and microwave, ad...equate cupboard and counter space and wooden table and chairs to sit four comfortably. Adjacent to the kitchen you will find a sunroom with large windows and a nice view of the yard The cottage has two bedrooms, one with a queen bed, one with a double, and you will also find a double pull-out sofa. The cottage also has a four piece washroom. As previously mentioned although the cottage does not front directly on the water. There is a view of the water from the end of the driveway. It is a five minute walk to a public beach access point. Entry into the water is shallow with a sandy apron bottom. This is a good place for young children to swim. Colpoy Bay is well known for its sports fishing. Salmon and Lake Trout are the most common fish, but you can also catch Whitefish.. You can fish off the Government dock or hire a boat at the Wiarton Marina to take you out to the deeper waters for downrigging. The location of the cottage is very beneficial for doing many day trips in the area. Sauble Beach is just 20 minutes away, with its many miles of sand. Cape Croker Park, 10minutes away, has many hiking trail with access to the Bruce Trail offering spectacular views of Sydney Bay from the top of the Niagara Escarpment. For those who like garadening, there are several private home gardens in the area that are open to the public and information on these can be found at www.ruralgardens.ca Bruce County also has several artisans in the area with many home studios. Samples of their wares are displayed in the shops in Wiarton. Information for Artisans Tours will be available at the Tourist Information Centre located at the old train station in the park in the town of Wiarton.

  Nice and clean. This was a very nice location for visting The Bruce. The kids walked down to the beach and were jumping off the pier within 15 mins of their 1st time there. Sauble Beach was wonderful and if you have not been to Indian Head and the Grotto you must go.

  Our stay was enjoyed by everyone in the family. The cottage is conveniently situated in a ideal location for touring the whole Bruce Peninsula both north and south of Wiarton.

  After a great rental experience with this organization in July with friends, I decided to rent a cottage on my own for a return visit. This cottage was perfect for my needs, very comfortable, warm and cozy and exceptionally clean. The owner left a hand written welcoming note inviting me to use what I wanted in the cupboard...a nice touch. I definitely would use RentCottage again, as well as rent this unit if I return. Many thanks for a professional job!

  After searching on the internet for cottage rentals in the Wiarton area, I found this one available. Through e-mail correspondence we booked the cottage without any complications/delays. The unit itself was clean and located on a quiet residential street. I would describe it as a one-story residence rather than an actual cottage. (All of the current amenities are there.) There are two drawbacks I can think of: it is not beach-front property (if you are seeking that traditional cottage/swimming vacation) and you have to drive anywhere for groceries, tourist sites, etc. As a home-base for visiting the Grey-Bruce area it was excellent but, not to sit idle on a beach within walking distance.
