Cottage Profile Newly renovated, 1500 square foot, waterfront cottage with 4 bedrooms is located north of Wiarton, and is nestled in the trees along the shoreline of Berford Lake. Berford Lake is a spring fed lake approximately 2 miles long and one mile wide. There is good fishing for bass and perch on the lake. The cottage has a large spacious living room with laminate wood flooring, three comfortable couches, a gas fireplace, 32 inch television with satellite receiver as well as sliding glass doors leading out to a lake side patio. There is a fully equipped kitchen with fridge, stove, dishwasher, microwave oven and plenty of cupboard and co...unter space. At one end of the kitchen is a wooden dining room table with seating for all of your people. From the dining area you can access the lakeside sunroom. Floor to ceiling windows provide a clear view of the water and the magnificent sunsets. This is the perfect place to relax in the patio furniture and enjoy the outdoors without worrying about bugs. One bedroom has a double bed; the second bedroom has two single beds; and the third bedroom has a Queen . The bathroom on the main floor of the cottage is a four piece with both shower and tub. A new loft has been built in the cottage to increase the amount of living space within the cottage. This new loft includes a bedroom with a queen sized bed, and a daybed, as well as a three piece bathroom with shower. It is a bright, newly constructed space, and is a fantastic addition to the cottage. By the lake is a 120 square foot lake side deck elevated over the water, this deck has two Muskoka chairs and is completely private. This is a great place to sit and watch the sun set over the lake. The shoreline of the cottage has a shallow entry with a silty bottom. (Please see beach description for more details.) The cottage comes with the use of a canoe and paddles to explore the lake and perhaps do some fishing. The cottage is located on a quiet dead end road that has very little traffic. As it is located in a central location on the Peninsula, there is only a 10 minute drive to Wiarton, 20 minutes to Sauble Beach and 5 minutes to great hiking on the Bruce Trail.

We came with 3 adults and 3 children 9 and under and had a very relaxing vacation. The sunsets were so Beautiful!!! The cottage was awesome, but a little hot (as this was probably the hottest week of the summer) but cooled off enough at night. It had all the things that we needed and was exactly what is discribed. The only part I would like to mention is that the beach area is not really useful for wading in. The silt is very messy and dirty. My kids really wanted to go in the water but we almost lost shoes in the silt more than once. The area was nice and quiet. Didn't see any of the neighbours till the day we were leaving. Our family enjoyed our vacation at the Paddle Inn very much! Thank you for sharing it with us! Read more
We are delighted that you enjoyed the cottage and the area. While the boat channel with its deep silt is a source of amusement to children, it is better, as our grandchildren find, to play in it with bare feet. There is a 60 foot width of wading area for children to enjoy where water shoes are recommended.

The cottage was wonderful. I did leave some notes about our experience on site.
It was quiet and fit the bill for our rather last minute family getaway.
This is our second time using this rental service and it works really well.
Love to be able to pay someone else to come and do all the cleaning afterwards, though, as that seems to take hours each time and kind of ends the vacation on a stressful note.

Great cottage, but one shower did not work well, and the beds were uncomfortable. Better designed for older couples, my 12 year old was bored at times lake shallow and silty not good for swimming. it was our first time renting so not sure what to expect for the money, plus we didn't know the area well, next time I think I would pick a spot where there are more activities for a 12 year old such as a good beach within walking distance. We are more used to camping!

The website and acomadations were exactly as advertised. The service from your company was great. The price was reflective of the area. This location was good because of the close proximity to Wiarton, Sauble and Tobemory. The cottage had many upgrades and was clean as well maintained.

We had a great week in this cottage. Everything is great about it - very comfortable and functional, excellent location, ease to keep, easy access. The sunsets are spectacular and we had lots of birds and very friendly chipmunks. The lake is very quiet and not very good for fishing. An as usual, the services of Rentcottage.com were excellent. A great experience!
