Cottage Profile "Turquoise" is a very private, two bedroom, 750 square foot English Cottage located on the picturesque shores of Georgian Bay between the towns of Wiarton and Owen Sound. This compact hideaway has all the necessities for your stay. The main living area is an open concept with a living room at one end and kitchen area at the other. A floor to ceiling stone fireplace is the focal point of the room as well as a real treat on a chilly night. Two bay windows let in lots of natural light and create a brighter living space. A couch and three chairs make up the living room with a television and DVD player available for you in case you... want to watch a movie. The kitchen comes equipped with fridge, stove, and microwave. A small table with two seats by the bay window is a great place for a quick snack or an intimate meal, while the harvest table with four chairs is perfect for all four people in the group to dine together, or work on a puzzle if you do get some rainy weather. There are two bedrooms at the cottage, each with double bed, and both just off the main living area of the cottage. The bathroom at the cottage is a four piece with both shower and tub. Outside of the cottage you can enjoy the peace and quiet that comes with 700 feet of shoreline. A charcoal bbq is available for your use, and a picnic table provides a place to dine outdoors. Muskoka chairs along the upper deck create a great place to enjoy the shade and privacy in the trees, while two more muskoka chairs at the lakeside provide front row seating to amazing sunrises, and a great place to watch the "turquoise" waters of Georgian Bay. The shoreline at the cottage has a mixture of sandy apron, flat rock and some rubble. Beautiful stonework creates a nicely landscaped yard. You are encouraged to enjoy the privacy that the expansive shoreline provides you, but please note that poison ivy can be found along the shoreline at either side of the cottage. Enjoy the convenience of being close to both Wiarton and Owen Sound. The cottage is located within 12 km of the Wiarton Golf Course, 10 km to Cobble Beach Golf Course, 17 km to Bruce Caves Conservation area and the Bruce Trail and 16 km to Wiarton with it's shops and boutiques and 14 km to Owen Sound. The cottage is beautiful and kept very clean. Weather did not co-operate but, it still was lovely.
Had to shorten stay.
Was supposed to be there a week. Only stayed 2 days.
Had to also cancel the following week.
Unfortunately, I would never book through Flip key because, due to my husband being transferred and plenty of notice it still cost us a lot of money to stay.
We had to cancel the final week.
Flip Key is an agent and it is a business so no allowing for emergency cancellations.
I would stay at this cottage again but, because it is through this agent, and our circumstances, we will not be going back.
I would not recommend to friends for this reason only. Not due to anything at the cottage.

We liked the quaint cottage, privacy offered by the location and proximity to hiking and sight-seeing. The threat of poison ivy was concerning for is in relation to our dog. Close running trails were not available and running on the scenic road was not that enjoyable. While the water was beautiful, walking on the slippery rocks discouraged swimming.
It is was okay.

Overall we had a pretty good week. The privacy and seclusion of this location was great. It was just what we wanted. We got good use of the 2 person kayak as well.
We were, however, a little disappointed with the poorly cared for grounds. The big windows at the front of the cottage would afford an excellent view of the water, if the shrubs etc were trimmed occasionally.
We were here late June into early July so we had a few chilly nights still. It was nice to have the fireplace to warm the cottage a bit.
We encountered cockroaches several times in the cottage as well, which of course wasn't a pleasant experience. The coffee maker was broken when we arrived so we purchased one in Owen Sound and left it there. We have had no offer to be reimbursed to this point yet.
The adirondack chairs were in a precarious state of repair as well.
For the price per week we would definitely not return here.

This quaint and inviting cottage had so much charm and comfort and was our home for a wonderful holiday week. We enjoyed our morning coffees and evening wine on the lovely stone patio and the rocky shoreline always begged for more exploring. We really enjoyed swimming - the water was so crystal clear! With so much privacy and quiet, we felt a million miles away from the city. Such beautiful scenery everywhere! We highly recommend this cottage and will return.
Wonderful, relaxing experience in a paradise like environment!

The cottage was so quaint and comfortable. Beautiful property- total privacy.

This was exactly what we wanted, peace and relaxation. The cottage was nestled on the waters edge. It was extremely private. The inside of the cottage was very cozy. Everything was clean and we felt right at home. There was a lot of poison ivy around but never once was it a problem for us if you stayed away from unchartered territory. The shoreline was very rocky but there were spots of sand to sit and relax on. The water on Georgian Bay is so clear and beautiful. Just wear some water shoes because the rocky bottom can be slippery. All in all a great stay!! I highly recomend it.

We spent a week at this delightfully secluded cottage and enjoyed it very much. The location is fabulous, the area around well worth exploring and the sound of the water and the wildfowl greeted us day and night. We grew particularly fond of the resident seagull, Heathcliff we called him, who wouldn't allow any other gulls in his private bay. We brought a kayak and used the one provided - the water is so clear you'd think you were in the Caribbean. Loved it.

Turquoise cottage was just what the doctor ordered. We arrived to a peaceful
private setting, clean and well equipped cottage and views to die for.
The beautiful stone fireplace and nautical inspired decor gave a real cosy feel
to the cottage.
The central location of Turquoise allowed us to cycle and or do half day trips to
Wiarton, Southamton and Owen Sound and still have the afternoon to lounge
on the beach or read under the trees.
We enjoyed all those cottage experiences we remembered from our youth,
beach fires under the stars, skipping stone competitions and going for an
evening paddle.(Around 8:00 PM you might hear the bagpipes echoing across

We were really satisfied with the on line service that we got
when we were looking for a place to go. The personal, were
really pleasant and helpful since this was our first time.I
would and have recommended the site to my friends.
As for the cottage
We had a peaceful two weeks enjoying Turquoise cottage
The cottage was well kept and roomy and very private
which we really liked,no really close neighbors.
There was a lot to see in the surrounding areas, hiking,
waterfalls, and nature in it self.
Even thought the beach was rookie, we had a lot of fun with
the canoe and kayak that was at the cottage.
I think the one thing that I would change, would be the
brush that is near the sitting area. It blocks the view when
one is still at the top of the stairs. It needs to be opened up
a little more. Other than that we would love to go back and
spend more time there.
