We have just returned from a long weekend stay at abhainn Ri. Everything about this rental is first class, from the greeting from the owner, to the thoughtful touches including homebaked cake, soda bread, butter, milk etc waiting for you on arrival. The cottage has been maintained to the highest standards and the views from the cottage are 'picture book' and have to be experienced to be believed. Collecting freshly layed eggs is a highlight, along with the beautiful donkey's. Close enough to make a day trip to the centre of Dublin easy but then very special to be in a base that is contryside with access to the Lakes in Wicklow. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone who wants to find a gem of a place to make the trip to the Dublin area really special .

We had superb weather - without that, there wouldn't be much to do. Feeding the animals was great for the kids. The houses were well equipped and the view was lovely.

The cottages are indeed cosy and well equipped with stunning views. You must have missed the large folder in the cottage with ideas and places to visit all along the East Coast. During your stay with us your family from Dublin visited you and some even stayed with you, enjoying the farm walks and children's activities. On departure you said you had a great time here and we look forward to seeing you all again.

We booked all four cottages at Abhainn Ri for my relatives from the UK and USA who attended my wedding in April 2009. It was a great family re union. The views from the cottages were just out of this world. The website does not do it justice. We were welcomed on arrival with lovely home made cakes and tea, lovely touch. The owners had just put in walkways through the fields overlooking the lakes. Great to get away for a peaceful walk. The cottages had just been redecorated by the owners and we were delighted with the very high standard. All bedrooms are en suite so it was just perfect for a mixture of family members. My relatives were very impressed with the care an attention of detail. The younger members of our family loved to watch the lambs and wild rabbits in the fields. The cottage has an information folder packed with ideas of places to go a see. Glendalough is only 25 minutes drive away. So it kept everyone very busy. Niamh the owner even gave my aunt a mobile broadband connection so she could work during her stay. I highly recommend this location especially if you have a extended family to accommodate. The standards are very high and It has something for everyone.

Thank you for a great holiday in your self catering cottages. They were so homely we loved the tea and home made cake on arrival, it made us feel so welcome. We enjoyed the farm walks, the birds chirping in the trees around us. The ponies and donkeys were so friendly and did not refuse the odd carrot or two. The cottages were so well cared for with lots of attention to detail. We look forward to our visit this summer and we would recommend them to anyone.
