      Perfect Girls Getaway!

Left on 05/15/2013 for a stay in May 2013

Thank you so much for an amazing trip!!! Your house was perfect, top to bottom! The view is amazing especially from the hot tub. All of the amenitities were above and beyond what we could have imagined. Close enough to Lake Placid but far enough away from it all. Perfect :)
We hope to return for the years to come.

      Fantastic Mountain Getaway

Left on 05/09/2013 for a stay in April 2013

Thank you so much for letting us stay at Lookout Mountain Chalet - we all had a fantastic time.

We were a group of 10 adults who unanimously agreed that the house was wonderful. We took full advantage of the hot tub (awesome after a full day of skiing) and the large kitchen (that everyone was envious of).

Steve - it was great to catch up with you at the Wildlife Refuge. Unfortunately we were pushed for time or we would have loved to stay and listen to more of your wonderful stories.

We will definitely recommend your place to our friends and I have a strong feeling that you will hear from us again in the future :)

Mr. Todd makes everything perfect! The place is immaculate. This was our 2nd yearly visit to ski and board the face and our 2nd stay at Lookout Chalet. It hasn't changed, still in excellent condition. Nothing is missing and the view is spectacular! Merci Beaucoup!

      Amazing cabin

Left on 12/26/2012 for a stay in December 2012

My wife and I brought our 3 children up to Whiteface for a week of skiing and to enjoy all there is to offer in the area before Christmas. When we arrived at the cabin the first thing we noticed was the breathtaking view. When we went inside the house everything was immaculate with such attention to detail. The house has the best of everything from appliances to beds to the cabin itself. Within 1 hour of our arrival the owner Todd called to make sure everything was just as we expected. He gave us his cell phone number and explained if we needed anything he would take care of it. The only time I had to call was to see if the cabin was available for an extra 3 days to extend our stay. He not only booked us for 3 extra days he didn't charge us. My wife and I have stayed at cabins in the adirondacks for the past 7 years and never have we found such a nice place that is also right next to everything. I highly recommend this cabin to anyone visiting the area of Lake Placid and Whiteface.

      Awesome Weekend!!!

Left on 10/30/2012 for a stay in October 2012

My 4 friends and I enjoyed a 3 night stay from 10/18 - 10/21. The house is beautiful, and the kitchen/family room is spectacular. We spent a lot of time in this area - cooking, eating, drinking, chatting, playing "Taboo", enjoying the fire (love that you can just flip a switch and it's on!). It's really conducive to a group having a good time together. When we could no longer keep our eyes open, we went to bed - and everyone agreed that the beds were super comfortable. Bathrooms were also great - we called the steam shower a "space capsule". I never got to experience it, but sounded like fun. Unfortunately it was a little too cold for us to enjoy the outdoor fire pit - and we didn't try the hot tub either. Next time. We did visit the wild life refuge, and enjoyed it. The staff was very informative, and I played "catch" with the blackbird there (threw a little stick and he caught it - I didn't know birds did this!!!). Enjoyed visiting the Olympic sites, and the little shops in town. Had a nice dinner at Jimmy's 21. Altogether, as my title says: an awesome Weekend! Thank you Kimmy & Todd!

      Wow!!

Left on 08/24/2012 for a stay in August 2012

This was the perfect spot for our family vacation. We had 11 people, including 2 babies and my 91 year old mom plus two dogs and had plenty of room. The house is beautiful and the views amazing although the house does get very warm in the afternoons. We spent most of the time outside then so it wasn't really a problem. We loved the wildlife refuge and visited it several times. Thanks for the attention you gave us regarding our stay. We would go back anytime.

Lookout Mountain Chalet is one of the most beautiful properties in Wilmington. It has the best view by far of any house we have rented. The house is beautifully decorated and had everything we needed, plus a hot tub, sauna and steam shower. We loved our stay here and will definitely be back.

Seven Year Search for the Perfect Family-Vacation Spot Now Over

Left on 08/04/2012 for a stay in July 2012

For several years we have searched for the perfect spot to spend a week away with our children and grandchildren. This quiet home in Wilmington with its perpetual view of the fifth highest peak in the adirondacks was perfectly positioned for all the things we love to do and places we love to visit. Busy Lake Placid with its sports history and shopping was a short drive away in one direction and high peaks hiking a short drive away in another. But our home base provided small hamlet living including a nearby beach we could reach in minutes by car or kayak. Three levels with well-insulated walls allowed for separation when desired, but the open main floor always welcomed and accommodated everyone together comfortably. Another great feature for those who enjoy cooking was the fully-equipped kitchen and again, with that magnificent view.

      Simply Wonderful

Left on 08/01/2012 for a stay in July 2012

This was my first trip to the area and boy was I lucky to find this place. First, you can tell the owner takes great pride in the home given the way it was built - top notch materials and construction. Also, the decor inside is that of an ultra-modern home with every amenity one could want.

My trip revolved around the Lake Placid Iron Man race and I was most concerned with having somewhere to come back to, relax, and get a good night's sleep after watching the competition. This place delivered. Quiet comfort, like being at home - except at my home I don't have the spectacular views outside every window!

I can't wait to go back and will not even consider staying somewhere else.

There is something for everyone to do in the adirondacks.

Left on 06/22/2012 for a stay in June 2012

The house is very centrally located in the high peaks region of the adirondacks. Lack Placid close by with great restaurants and shopping. The Olympic jumping site is not to be missed as you can watch future Olympians train on the high jump and the aerial pool. My kids who are in the 20's spent the week hiking up mountains and caught a ton of fish in Lake Placid. The Lake Placid boat tour is not to be missed and likely the only way someone without a boat can see the lake. The house is amazing. Everyone loved the king sized beds, the huge bathrooms and the cozy kitchen and hot tub. The views of Whiteface from the home and deck are not to be missed. However, the house did get very hot on 2 days because of the southwestern exposure of the house. Some remote control blinds would have been helpful. I was also concerned that the outside trash cans were full when we arrived, never picked up during our stay, and over flowing by the time we left. I support the adirondacks aggressive recycling program, but somehow the mechanics of it should be made easier for the renter.

      Absolutely amazing Vacation

Left on 06/21/2012 for a stay in June 2012

We rented the chalet for our wedding anniversary vacation and were more than pleased. We were welcomed to an emaculate home with everything we needed. The owner happened to be there and was extremely friendly and accomodating. You couldnt ask for a nicer view of the adirondacks. Absolutely amazing sitting out on the deck in the morning looking at Whiteface Mountain and watching the deer in the yard. There wasn't one negative thing about our entire week.

Everything we were looking forward to, and more!

Left on 04/28/2012 for a stay in March 2012

We were on our own, but there were numbers of people to be reached if we needed them. Aside from the few directions with the recycling and starting laundry before we left, it was very laid back and relaxing. We absolutely loved the house! The layout was great. Enough room to do a nice big family dinner in the kitchen, then relax in the hot tub or by the fire afterwards. Beds were comfortable. The house has a gorgeous view, and you can hear the wolves from the sanctuary down the road howl late at night or early in the morning. It was very serene and peaceful. It's also not too far to drive into town for a bite to eat, or grab some groceries. It served the purpose of 4 couples needing to get away and have a good time. We hope to make it a yearly thing!
