    Additional Location Information

Situated right in the heart of the Lake District, White Cross Bay Holiday Park enjoys over 60 acres of delightful wooded parkland running down to the shores of Windermere lake. A 4 star, beautifully maintained holiday park holding the David Bellamy Gold Award for Conservation. The panorama of the lake, surrounding fells and countryside is quite simply breathtaking.

On site there is a heated indoor swimming pool, sauna and fitness suite (payable locally), a relaxing bar and a fully licensed restaurant. A takeaway service is also available if you prefer to eat in the comfort of your own Lodge. Laundry facilities and a well stocked shop and off license complete the indoor amenities. Live entertainment is performed in the bar on site most weekends during the peak the season.
Outdoor there is children's play area and a multi use games area consisting of a combined tennis court, 5 a side football pitch and a basketball court. For quieter pursuits on site you can find a picnic area nestling alongside the lake, a dog walking area set in the woodland area, and last, but by no means least, a charming beer garden.

Sailing and water sports enthusiasts can enjoy the marina at White Cross Bay which offers one of the best boat launching facilities on Lake Windermere. A stream gently flows its way through the park encouraging ducks and other wildlife. Within 10 minutes walking distance is the Lake District Visitor Centre at Brockhole and a little further on is the Low Wood Water Sports centre.

      Wonderful Holiday

Left on 11/23/2012 for a stay in October 2012

We have just visited Bowness Lodge for the second time with our family and enjoyed every moment there. The lodge is excellent, spacious, very well-eqipped, spotlessly clean, modern and the lakeside is only a couple of minutes away. Whitecross Bay site is well maintained, situated in lovely woodland and has lots of facilities. Whatever the weather, there is lots to do in this area. We enjoyed many beautiful walks, we visited nearby Brockholes, many Lakeland towns and villages and other lakes and it was lovely to return at the end of the day to the lodge and enjoy relaxing in the swimming pool or having a work-out in the gym.We would happily recommend Bowness Lodge for a wonderful holiday.

Relaxing, modern and clean - a gorgeous tranquil retreat

Left on 09/18/2012 for a stay in September 2012

My husband and I are great lovers of the outdoors, and wanted a base for a week of walking and exploring. This was perfect for us. I'm always worried about cleanliness of independent cottages and lodges, but this was spotless - such a relief! White Cross Bay had quite a few amenities, as well as other lodges. I have no idea of what standard the others are, but I'm sure this must be one of the best. Simple yet modern it had everything we needed, and a great bathroom too. Although there were only two of us, there seemed to be lots of kitchen utensils and crockery for larger parties. The hosts were a pleasure to deal with and helpful with all of my questions. I do hope if you find this review useful you have a similar experience to us.

If you are looking for the perfect get away from it all, then the searching stops here. This is a wonderful lodge, which is equipped with everything you need.
Brilliant decking area with BBQ plenty of comfortable seating.
The owners are extremely helpful and cannot do enough for you. The lodge is about 500 yards from the Lake. We loved all the authentic feel of being in a "true log cabin"

      Home from home

Left on 07/29/2012 for a stay in December 2010

We have stayed at bowness lodge on many occasions. My favourite was Christmas 2010 when the snow fell and forgot to stop. It was my sons first Christmas and when we arrived we locked ourselves in for three cosy days and nights blissfully undisturbed. Scenery is fantastic and surrounding villages always something to do.
      Ideal for children
