Heaning Barn is a charming traditional 19th century stone-built Lakeland barn which has been skilfully converted into 4 comfortable and spacious cottages. The service was good, booking was easy and instructions to get there spot on .The cottage was very clean and had everything you could possibly need.The lounge was very comfortable and well equipped with games and videos. The weather was great and we sat outside in the charming garden.Our friends were celebrating their ruby wedding while we were there so it was a special weekend.

For older people in cold weather the heating system is unfair. Even though you can turn the heating up it quickly returns to the set temperature and timings which was too cold for the weather we had. On arrival the basement bedrooms were smelling a bit damp. We found kids socks and a babies bottle on the floor in two bedrooms, however the cottage was clean and very well equipped. This was the first time we had stayed in a cottage where the owners was not nearby, so difficult to know who to locate.

Perfectly placed to visit the SE Lakes area ; and walks from the doorstep as well. Very easy to find.About 5 minutes from Windermere and all amenities there, but situated in a really quiet hamlet. Very well equipped ; wanted for nothing. Ideal for a small group or large family ; plenty of useful information / literature available in the cottage. Also enough games / books to keep children/adults busy if the weather is poor ( but surely not as its The Lakes !? ).
Would definiely revisit in the future. -

A very well equipped cottage with ample room for six people. Warm and comfortable with lovely views and walks. Very close to Windermere town centre (2 mins drive). I have stayed here twice now and would definitely stay again.

location was ideal for us, close to town for shopping and for easy access to the main routes around the area, but also remote enough to be peaceful and get some great views. well equipped cottage with lots of thoughtful extras that made it very homely.
