The best cottage we have stayed in. Warm, cosy, welcoming with a lovely atmosphere. Great for families, lots of wooden toys, dressing up clothes, videos and books-so no need to bring any entertainer for them. Lots of Christmas decorations making it really homely. Good location for the central lakes. Friendly pub nearby in Ings. Perfect! Read more

We received a warm welcome from Christine. The cottage had everything you could need, with a full toy box of toys and games for the children and lots of books and videos. It has a full dressing up wardrobe for the kids too which kept them entertained. The cottage was very clean and was very comfortable.
The garden was beautiful. With a lovely stream running through it. The children loved the tree house.
The cottage is in a great location with the nearest town only 5 minutes away and lake windermere only 10 minutes away.
We would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone.

we stayed here for a long weekend in May cycling and walking and cannot wait to come back. While the cottage was perfect for 4 blokes it would be even perfecter for a family. the attention to detail for kids is superb and i'll certainly be booking to come back with my kids
the local pub (i forget the name) was really friendly and had great beers, but also worth a visit is the microbrewery in Stapely (10 minute walk)
lovely views, incredible garden, really friendly owner who was availble but never intrusive.
again, can't wait to go back

Christine is the perfect hostess and made us feel very welcome. The cottage is perfectly situated for local amenities and attractions with Windermere only 10 mins away. The garden was in full Spring bloom and looked spectacular, the treehouse and slide were perfect for our girls! The cottage was very clean, tidy and well appointed. We enjoyed it so much we've booked for next year already!
Lovely well-situated cottage

Loved our stay here. Lovely five bed place with great views and nice gardens too. It has a lovely kitchen diner and lounge with all the comforts of home. The owner lives next door so if you need any assistance she is on hand to help. Strongly recommended.
Delightful in all respects!!!

This delightful cottage made our Christmas break the best holiday we have had in a very long time. The cottage was most beautifully decorated throughout, with large open rooms. The treat of having a real fire of logs and coal[ availible from local garage], was the highlight at the end of each day. The views of rolling hills from every window makes you want to get out there and explore the beautiful surrounding countryside. The charming garden with a natural flowing stream coming straight off the hills above enhanced the garden as did the four different bridges that crossed it. The Water Mill pub in the village is a good place for food and it's own beer! In two words Excellent Value.
A lovely cottage in a lovely location

This is a lovely cottage with wonderful views of the area. It is a very well equiped cottage with lots of kitchen utensils for those wishing to do their own cooking. It is brilliant for children as there are lots of toys, videos and dressing up clothes and there is a tree house and sandpit in the garden, but there is a little tiny stream that runs through the garden, so children would have to be supervised in the garden at all times. Christine the owner is a lovely lady. The cottage is within walking distance of the Watermill Inn, a dog friendly pub that serves great beers which they brew themselves and wonderful food. We would love to go back sometime in the future.
A wonderful cottage in a great location with a fabulous garden!

We received a lovely warm welcome and were very well looked after throughout our stay at Little Ghyll Cottage by owner Christine.
It's a very comfortable and well equipped home-from-home. Every window has a wonderful view; the conservatory is a joy.
The location is convenient for sight seeing and fell walking alike. All amentities are catered for in Windermere a couple of miles away and the Watermill Brewery/Inn is just a five minute walk.
The garden is utterly delightful.

This was an ideal place for our last minute group break, 5 adults & 2 dogs. The cottage was clean and spacious and the owner next door friendly and helpful both on arrival and departure.
Great place to stay prior to hitting a hard days walking from ambleside and the nearby Watermill Inn (very dog friendly) had fantastic ales, food and atmosphere.
