CobleskillDevine Getaway Opportunity!!!
Left on 03/19/2013 for a stay in March 2013
My boyfriend and I stayed for a single night and were more than delighted with every aspect of the experience. Ella was ever so accommodating and immensely helpful with the check in/out process and driving directions! The bungalow was immaculate and equipped with dishes, towels, toiletries, sheets, pots, etc which eliminated the stress of packing a mountain of supplies. The wireless internet, heating, and cable operated perfectly as well! The surrounding countryside is quaint and peaceful and the bungalow acts as a sublime home base for adventuring in Windham. There is a grocery store right down the street in case you forget any groceries and the fridge is so ample that you can really stock up on fresh food if you so desire! The entire stay was fabulous and I highly recommend it to any two people looking for a relaxed and gorgeous home away from home!

If you are the type to cook this the perfect spot for you. A full kitchen to whip up bkfast before you head out, we just loved it. The bed is small, but for the price it represents a great value.
The bungalow is on a real rundown road with weird neighbors but the bungalow itself was just what we expected.
Oh, if you stay there bring any extra kitchen goods you can part with as a donation. -

NEw YorkGreat place for (not only) weekend getaway!!!
Left on 07/30/2012 for a stay in July 2012
Thank you Ella!!!
For those who look for a place to get some rest and forget about busy life: you can't find anything better for that price. The cottage is beautiful and clean and is equipped with everything you may need. Just get your clothes and you don't even need to bring anything else. The supermarket is just "around the corner".
We have a 4 month old baby and it was a paradise for both of us and for her. There is nothing better than a nice cup of coffe on a porch, little relaxation time on the swing under a tree and delicious barbecuqe at dinner time. The cottage is small but big anough for a couple with a little baby. It's cozy and clean. We were there twice and plan to go again. Ella is super nice and very helpful, willing to answer all the questions you may have before your arrival.
We highly recommend this place.
Once again: thank you Ella!!! -

This is the cutest little place I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. Everything was very clean, and had everything you could need. I would definitely come stay here again. The owner Ella is a sweetheart, and was very accommodating to our check in and check out times. There's a lot to do in the town and surrounding towns, but just staying in was great too. We barbecued and hung out on the porch and had a great time without even leaving! Will be back again i'm sure.

I visited Prattsville a few months after the Hurricane swept through the town, but in Ella's beautiful cabin you would never know anything had happened.
Its a perfect little hideaway, in a peaceful backstreet in a town working hard to get back on its feet.
There is lots of beautiful scenery, hikes and things to do in the area and so many friendly faces.
And just a short drive to Hunter mountain.
Thoroughly recommend visiting the town and staying at the cabin. -

Left on 10/04/2011 for a stay in September 2011
We stayed at the cottage for three nights and everything was exactly as promised by Ella. The owner is awesome with communications and making sure the guests are properly accomodated. The town was recently flooded by Hurricane Irene but that didn't affect our stay as we were able to visit the nearby attractions that we wanted to see including Cooperstown for the Baseball Hall of Fame and the nearby community of Windham. Everyone was really nice and the cottage was a great place to get the rest and relaxation we were looking for. This place is great for one or two people and a great deal when compared to other lodging opportunities in the area. Thanks Ella!

Left on 07/11/2011 for a stay in July 2011
It really is a perfect place to relax; quiet, green and you get a picturesque view from the house. It so nice that that you could just stay there and do nothing(which we did for most of the time:). But there are also many interesting places around to visit. The house itself is quite small but very cozy and clean. And Ella, the host very, very friendly and helpful. Thank you Ella!! We are coming back soon

North Bergen, NJRelaxing and refreshing little vacation
Left on 06/04/2011 for a stay in April 2011
I had a great experience with this little cottage from the beggining. The booking was a breeze. Ella's always available and on top of everything. The place is cozy and very comfortable. It had everything you need and it was super clean. My sister and I were looking for a quiet and relaxing place to get away from NY and this was perfect. I highly recommend it for couples. The location is also great, all kinds of attractions are just a short drive away. Personally I went there during the slow season to relax but I'm sure it's awesome during the snowy winter and hot summer, there's lakes, outdoor sports, a bunch of different towns to check out, shops, fudge!, a brewery, etc, etc. The cottage also has such a nice area outside to sit down and have a BBQ or a drink. Either you go to relax or stay active and have fun this place is like being home and you'll want to go back for sure!

New JerseyExcellent Little Bingalow In The Catskills...
Left on 05/27/2011 for a stay in May 2011
My Girlfriend and I were looking for places to vacation, for the weekend of her Birthday. After searching the web for a week or so, I came across Ella's Catskill Bungalow. The Bungalow was nice, cozy & comfortable. The Bungalow is located way up on the Mountain in Prattsville NY past Hunter NY, so you could see a lot of nice sites on the way up there. We saw many deer, birds & Waterfalls. The property were the Bungalow is located, is on a nice quiet dead end street, so you are not going to be disturbed by passing traffic. There is a nice cozy bench swing under a shaded tree in the front yard, a small bbq grill for grilling & a decent sized lawn to lay out on. The Bungalow itself was very clean, smelled fresh, the hot water was hot & we even had cable.Ella was an awesome hostess, she was very friendly & outgoing.Ella made us feel welcome from the minute we got there until the minute we left. The best part about this place is that Ella lives right next door so that if you ever need anything, she is about 15 steps away. The town itself is quiet and peaceful. There is a small Cafe named "Beth's Cafe" & Their slogan is "Come in as strangers & leave as friends", we had some breakfast there & the staff was excellent. There is a small farmers market across the road as well as a small dive bar named "The tavern".The Bungalow is about 20-30 minutes from Hunter Mountain & Windham NY. We had so much fun getting away for the weekend. We went horse back riding, mini golfing, went to the Hiway Drivein Movie theater. We slept peacefully through the night & enjoyed the mountain air along with the quietness. Bottom line is, if you want a nice, cozy, small, relaxing atmosphere along with the fresh mountain air and sites & access to a lot of fun country things to do, then this is the place for you. Best of all it is Inexpensive. We only paid $69.00 a night and $163.00 for the whole weekend. We will definately stay here again in the near future. Thanks again Ella, see you soon. John & Rachel.

The cabin was exactly as it was described with everything we needed for a great getaway. It was clean, warm, cozy and the lawn was terrific. Within a 2 minute walk to great breakfast and close to Windham Resort. Secluded and much nicer than a hotel! We're coming back next year!

The bungalow is located in Prattsville, NY. It is close to the town supermarket and bars. Hunter mountain and tourist attractions are not too far away. It is an ideal place for a person or a couple that want a quiet place to enjoy the Catskill region. The bungalow is perfect for people that do not plan to stay in during the day. Ella is a very good host: very hospitable and does not hesitate to help. Thank you Ella!

New York, NYCatskills weekend getaway
Left on 06/15/2009 for a stay in May 2009
I had made arrangements to take a BMW R1200GS motorcycle out for the weekend from the dealer in Manhattan, and chose the Catskills as the perfect destination to give the bike a run for the money. A quick Google search located the Catskill Bungalow which met all my requirements: quiet, cozy, inexpensive and a central location.
Dealing with Ella on line and on the phone couldn't have been easier or more pleasant. She provides detailed directions on how to reach the bungalow and her cell phone just in case!
The weekend weather cooperated for the most part; there is a heater in the cabin that warms things up quickly. When I arrived, Ella was very thorough in showing me the cabin and amenities. Unfortunately, I never got around to using the little grill...perhaps next time!
The shower gets hot quickly and provides more than sufficient water pressure. You're walking distance from the local grocery store, so if you feel like cooking, there's a big fridge, plenty of dishes, pots and pans and a decent-sized kitchen table to eat on. The small porch out front is perfect for kicking back, reading a book or taking a snooze. Had the weather been a bit more enticing, I would have tried out the swing under the tree.
The bunk beds will sleep two -- very cozily - on the bottom and one on the top bunk. Ideally, this would be for a family (parents with small child). Otherwise, things might be a bit tight. There's not really a space to "hang out" inside the cabin other than the kitchen table; outside, there's plenty of room in the yard.
All in all, I had a very enjoyable stay! -

Long Island, New YorkA peaceful Mother's Day weekend
Left on 05/30/2009 for a stay in May 2009
I wanted to get out of town with my wife for a few days for the Mother's Day weekend. It was a last minute thing and I wasn't sure if we would just stay in a motel. I surfed the internet and came across Ella's Bungalow. I called and she was immediately ready to get the bungalow ready and told us to start heading up. I arrived close to dusk and found the bungalow with no problem(Ella gave great directions) The Bungalow was perfect and my wife and I were able to relax for the 2 nights we stayed. We explored the area a little and spent some time by the river that is very close by. The area is quiet and the town is within walking distance. Thanks again for a nice weekend. John and Loreen

Brooklyn, New YorkVery Nice!
Left on 05/25/2009 for a stay in February 2009
At first I was hesitant to stay here being that the price was so cheap. However I decided to go for it. When I got there I VERY impressed! The owner greeted us and she was very nice and professional. The place was nice and clean and best of all we had our much needed privacy. Coming from the busy NYC that was very important for us. The area was quiet and we had lots of things to do in the area. We went skiing, swimmed at the lake nearby, when hiking and saw some really nice views. Though it was snowy we were still able to appreciate natures wintery beauty. There were all sorts of other things we could have done but didnt stay long enough to visit all the nice restaurants and stuff. I wish we could have stayed longer :(. I definately will stay in this place the next time I go upstate.
If you like the mountains like we do and want your privacy AND dont want to spend a lot of money for your own kitchen ;), then this is the place I'd recommend without a doubt.
The only flaw I can realistically come up with is that the bathroom isnt really big enough for me and my boyfriend to use together. Other than that I would give this place a five star rating. -

Not for more than 3 people.
the place is close to all good sports and fun.
the host is ultra cool and flexible in all aspects.
supermarket for groceries is next door.
Winter preferred.
May not come back as there is so many places to go and stay, however, is a must for a first time in the Hunter and Catskills. -

BrooklynGreat fly fishing headquarters
Left on 05/07/2009 for a stay in April 2009
It was the perfect location for the opening of trout season. There's a
creek that runs right through town --- within walking distance. If you
have a NY Reservoir permit, the Gilboa Reservoir is only a few miles
down the road (It's about six miles long and 80ft deep in some spots)!.
I also fished the Catskill creek and took a day trip to the legendary
Esopus creek (I guess about a 1/2 hour drive). I'll be back in the
summer for more fishing and hiking. Ella, the owner, was a lot of help
and keeps the cabin super clean. I would definitely recommend it, especially for the price!
