Description

Charming and cozy 2 bedroom/2 bathroom house with gorgeous views of Windham Mountain and the best of both worlds--a 1.5 mile drive to the mountain (10 miles to Hunter) and less than a minute drive to town (10-15 min walk). Situated on a little less than 2 acres of land on Route 23, but set back from the road. Each bedroom has a full en-suite bathroom; living space is presented as an open layout for easier dining and entertaining. There's also a newly constructed, sturdy and spacious pine treated deck in front of the house, where you can gaze at the mountain while enjoying a morning cup o' joe or end-of-the-day cocktail. One of the bedrooms is equipped with a new queen bed and the other has new twins. Bedrooms each have tons of closet space, with 2 closets each. Living space is super cozy with a toasty gas firestove and each room has electric baseboard heaters. You'll be so warm at the end of a long day on the slopes!

You'll also have access to the basement where you can store bikes, skis, boots, wet/muddy clothes, and where you can use the washer/dryer. Basement is heated and has a separate entrance, but is conveniently located below the unit. You can drop off your equipment on the way into the chalet, where your slippers and gas fireplace await! (Come on, can't you just picture it?)

The rental is located about 40 feet from the main house on shared property. You'll have plenty of privacy, and also the convenience of having the owners nearby (most weekends in the winter) if you need anything. (If we're not there, we're a phone call away and will gladly send our caretaker over to help out if needed). We affectionately refer to the house as the 'rondelet chalet' because, while the main house was built in the early 1920s, the rental was built in the late 60s and it's a funky round-shaped house that was evidently de rigeur at the time. Actually it's more like a dodecahedron! The rondelet has a certain charm in regard to its shape and layout...we think you'll get a kick out of it, while also finding it as cheery and cozy as can be. We hope you love it as much as we do!
