Filled with original features and with plenty of traditional charm combined with modern convenience, this cottage is able to sleep up to 7 people across three, well appointed bedrooms and offers a perfect base for a family holiday. Set within a central location in the picturesque village of Winster, this lovely, stone-built Georgian property is situated within the Peak District National Park. The cottage has been tastefully renovated to retain much of its original character and as a result offers warm, welcoming accommodation over three floors. With beamed ceilings, sash windows, traditional lime-plastered walls, a "kite-winder" staircase an...d a wood-burning stove set into a fabulous fire place, the cottage retains many of its original features. The property is well served by local amenities, however Bakewell, Matlock and Ashbourne are all near by for wider shopping facilities.

Region: The ultimate in “year-round” appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.

Town: With an impressive 17th Century market house at its centre, the conservation village of Winster is situated within the Peak District National Park. This extremely pretty location is mostly composed of three main streets - Main Street, East Bank and West Bank boasting imposing 18th Century farm houses, nearly all of which are at least three storeys tall. Off the main street visitors can find the slightly less grand though equally fascinating 'ginnels', or alleyways. The village still holds a number of traditional events throughout the year, such as a pancake race every Shrove Tuesday and the annual Wakes festivities which take place in June, as well as events hosted by the local Morris dancers. The village boasts plenty of essential amenities too - a post office/gift shop, a well stocked grocer's shop and two pubs both serving food and local traditional beers.Read more

Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.

  The house was lovely and decorated to a high standard. The village has a great pub which serves fantastic home cooked food. We did some great walking from the doorstep! The only fault with the property was the bathroom was a wet room, and took ages to dry out.

  Weather awful but cottage great!!

  Despite the standard November Peak District rain, we found this cottage to be a delight. The cottage, the village and the pub catered to our needs perfectly.
  
  The cottage is of a high standard with just about enough equipment in the kitchen to cook a full sunday roast for 6 people.
  
  We have rented in the peakl district for a number fo years at this time of year and would have no hesitation using this cottage again.
