Additional Location Information
The home is in a private neighborhood, on a quiet, paved cul de sac (10 mph speed limit) on the beautiful Schoodic Peninsula. It is only a 4 to 5 minute walk to the ocean harbor in a charming fishing village that is also a destination for summer residents who wish to be close to Acadia National Park, want access to livelier Bar Harbor, but don't want to be in a touristy setting. The house is walking distance to at least two restaurants during summer. Within 2 miles is a gorgeous and relaxing oceanside picnic area, Frazer Point, in Acadia National Park's breathtakingly beautiful Schoodic section.

A Great Experience
The townhouse was exactly as pictured on website. Very clean & well-stocked with things anyone might need. The beds were very comfortable. Wish the house was a little bit closer to Bar Harbor area but this would not keep us from going there again. We were thrilled the home is smoke-free. The rental price was very appealing also. Communicating with Kathleen was a joy. She was very open, honest & helpful on every level. The house was very much like being in our own home. We highly recommend this home to others.

Far exceeded expectations; better than our other rentals!
Very homey, comfortable, and well appointed and equipped. It was a pleasure to live there. Expect to return. Will only recommend to friends and loved ones that we really trust. A gem!

It is always our pleasure to welcome back to Winter Harbor those who have ties to the military, which has been an integral part of Winter Harbor's history. Thank you for being such considerate guests. We look forward to your return, and will welcome those friends whom you recommend.

Excellent owner preparation & care
I would give five stars, if not the requirements to bring sheets, towels and strict cleaning before we leave the house - all these take significant time. Probably we should take it easy - otherwise owner prepardness, care and the house are just the best. Thanks Kathleen!

We DO provide sheets, Ed, and no heavy cleaning is required, so perhaps you have confused our house with another? We're thrilled that you loved the house and enjoyed your vacation! We provide all bed linens as stated in the rental agreement, but did ask that if you were driving in directly from home, whether you'd be willing to bring your own towels to facilitate turnover and preparation for guests arriving on the day you left. We always offer guests the option of using the house towels (at no extra cost) if guests will try to wash the bulk of them before departure. Even that is not required, and most guests either like to bring their own towels, or are happy to launder a load if they have time. Cleaning consists of restoring the kitchen to the condition in which it is found, and taking out the trash.
We look forward to your return!

Exceptionally clean, charming and comfortable home located withi
Home is in quiet fishing (lobster) village and has a big yard. There is an IGa in town that is open most of the time, a library, several restaurants and gift shops. Unfortunately most everything was closed until Memorial Day! The kitchen is well stocked and we had a great time boiling lobster on the deck. It was fun to visit the dock and fishery where lobster could be purchased. The beds were very comfortable (there were four of us) and the only caveat I would give is that the stairs going to the bedroom are sort of steep. The owner has done a great job decorating the home and provides lots of tips on what to do in the area. For outdoor people such as hikers this is a very convenient and beautiful location being so close to acadia National Park and the beach. The scenery was spectacular! We did spend a day in Bar Harbor but it is definitely an all day driving trip. It was a relaxing getaway for us and would be fun to stay in the summer or when the weather was better (fogged in) and when there was more activity.

Thank you for all the complements! We enjoyed getting to know you by email and are glad you were so happy with the house and fell in love with the Acadia National Park region. My husband was surprised to read that you thought the stairs were sort of steep; ours in our full time home are steeper. We often drive over to Bar Harbor for lunch and come back to escape the Bar Harbor crowds and enjoy the greater part of the day on our peninsula. The drive to Bar Harbor with the shortcut we describe is under an hour and seems shorter with the scenery along the way. Please do return someday; we recommend trying every season as each has its allure. More people should come during winter and see the beauty of snow on pine topped islands and along the shores of the Acadia Maine region.

This was perfect for our needs.
We wanted a house in a fairly quiet and private area that would be close to acadia and surrounding areas. This house was perfect for our needs. Having a washer and dryer on an extended cross-country vacation was a bonus. Lots of information in the house to make travel easy. Very clean and very private.
