Absolutely gorgeous, historic Victorian(1891)cottage on Grindstone Neck previously owned by the Harper publishing family and located on more than three wooded acres along the Maine coast overlooking Frenchman's Bay with a view of Mt. Desert Island to die for!
The view is seen from most of the 26 rooms in the house through enormous bay windows as well as the stone terrace which offers a perfect spot for outdoor dining and cocktails while watching the sun slip behind Mt. Cadillac.

Winter Harbor, on the peninsula of Grindstone Neck, a summer community, overlooking Frenchman's Bay. There many near by restaurants and lots of outdoor fun including hiking, boating, kayaking, canoeing, tennis, golf, swimming, bird watching and a sandy beach three miles away. It is a short ferry ride to Bar Harbor (207-288-2984) or a 40 minute drive to Mt. Desert and Bar Harbor, two miles from Acadia National Park, and an hour and a half to Campobello (Roosevelt's Summer Home).

The photo is deceiving. The "cottage" is a 29 room house on three wooded acres with an unobstructed view ofFrenchman's Bay from the terrace. The historic village of Winter Harbor is close by as are good restaurants,golf, tennis, hiking,sailing and swimming. It can as restful or active a vacation as you want. It's ideal for one or more families.
