Everything on 1 level, use the goft cart to go everywhere, relax in the home's sunroom jacuzzi and keep the water as warm or cool as you like. All in complete privacy in a quiet residential setting with quiet neighbors. Directv with DVR, 3 televisions, cordless phones, Internet access available, daily newspaper included. Club House with pool, jacuzzi, library, videos, concerts, billiards, Monday Coffee get-together, Gift Shop, restaurant/pub, newsletter.

Winter Haven Area: Swiss Golf & Tennis is in a rural setting surrounded by orange groves and open space, but 10 minutes drive to Home Depot, restaurants, grocery store (5 minutes), Walmart, Auto repair, several church denominations, golf courses, excellent accredited hospital: Winter Haven Hospital, 10-minute drive. Macy's and Lowe's are 10-minute drives. The area is one of the fastest growing in Florida but once you are home you wouldn't know it looking out at the lake. The property itself is surrounded by old-growth trees including tropical palms, pines and lush Florida vegetation including Spanish moss. Once on the property most residents move around the park using golf carts. All the homes are ranch-style, one level once you are inside the home (two steps to enter) and conducive to scooters, wheel chairs etc. for getting to the club house and amenities. The park is a 20 minute drive to the Disney and all other theme parks. Lego Land; 15-minute drive. Children, while welcome, must maintain decorum at all times in public.

At Swiss Golf & Tennis there is a real sense of community friendliness and desire to welcome newcomers. You won't feel like an outsider just because you are renting. Snow Birds come and go also and that makes everyone interested in having a welcoming attitude. The Swiss Golf & Tennis club house is the gathering place in our gated community.

There is a beautiful Swiss Chalet-style large clubhouse overlooking the lake and pools. There are parquet floors for dancing during celebratory weekends when a Sinatra-style band is hired, such as Valentine's Day weekend. Such events occur almost monthly at a minor charge of $20 per couple approximately. There are also occasional pot lucks, catered dinners and community bazarre sale in November.

This is where you can reach out if you want to meet your neighbors. Take advantage of as many or as few organized activities as you wish. Similar to the organized offerings at a resort.

Free Monday Coffee takes place every week. There are door prize drawings, current week birthdays and anniversaries are recognized, organized bus trips are announced; future concerts announced, ill residents are recognized, newly arrived renters and/or returning snow birds are recognized, if desired. Golf tournaments, shuffleboard tourneys, computer classes, swim exercise classes, billiards competitions are all covered in the week's news. It's great way to find out what if any activities you wish to participate in. If nothing else, have some free coffee, get a 25c donut and start the morning off right.

There is a restaurant and pub adjacent to the clubhouse serving all week.

Special weekends recognizing guest from various states and Canada are organized by your neighbors from these places. Iowa-Wisconsin weekend is well-attended as is Canada Day. Veterans' Day, Flag Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day are all recognized with brief ceremonies.

Simply put, as a snow bird renter you will not find a more welcoming area with a community feel and relaxing resort.Read more

LEGO LAND, Upscale Shopping Galleria Mall, 1 hour to St. Petersburg/Tampa, 1 hour to Cape Canaveral. Sanibel Island for shell beach combing day trip. Sarasota is nice day trip. Winter Haven is perfect home base. Fishing day trips from Ft Myers area, Everglades trips. Swiss Golf and Tennis Club House has group bus trips organized.Polk County is active, growing area with suburban shopping, light traffic, big stores incl. Macy's, WalMart, Home Depot, Lowe's, Sears, Tractor Supply, hobby stores. All major chain sit down restaurants and fast food restaurants incl. Panera, Longhorn, Carraba's, Olive Garden. Several family and fine dining, BBQ and buffet non-chain restaurants plus movie theatres, bowling, churches of many denominations incl. Catholic, Baptist, Jewish. Several main banks, walking plazas. Two hospitals, both very well accredited; the closest is 7-minute drive (noted cardiology regional)include all major specializations and treatments.
