Austin, TXPerfect vacation
Left on 03/20/2013 for a stay in March 2013
The condo was great. The Winter Park staff showed up as promised, on time to provide us our gear and lift tickets. The whole process was smooth and easy. We had a blast on our vacation and plan to return next year. The only issue we had was the train blowing the horn at 4:30 a.m. It had to effect all condos in area and not sure why they had to blow the horn so darn early every day.

The location of this lodge was absolutely great. It is pretty much located in the middle of all local markets and excursions. Everything is pretty much less than 5 minutes away. You can get around by using their free shuttle or by driving. The lodge was nicely decorated and it was equipped with all types stuff such as cups, plates, spices and etc. The best part of it all is that the lodge was very affordable.

The management company was really great!! Very polite and personal. We had some issues with the time our plane landed and the time stated for check-in to our condo. They worked with us and had everything figured out by the time we got to Winter Park.
We really enjoyed our stay in this rental. The view was so beautiful from our condo. You could look out and see the skiers coming down the mountain. The place was newly remodeled and very up to date. Granite counter tops, whirlpool baths, new kitchen appliances, etc. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen well stocked and the heating did a fanatic job keeping us warm. The only thing that I didn't like was in the master bedroom there was no entrance bathroom door so it made it cold while trying to take a bath, but there was a shower with an entrance door in the same area and it was great.
We loved the location it was in Old Town which was a very quiet area, without lots of traffic. The shuttle service is great, its a very short distance from here to the base, one bus and your there. The only thing is if you want to go to town from this location it takes a little extra effort, you have to catch several buses instead of one, takes up a little bit more of you time to get there but it all worth the peace and quiet this area has to offer. Yes I would stay here again, this wouldn't deter me.
The hot tub area was good once it opened and we could use it. They had it closed for several days for cleaning while we were there. They had a sauna room but didn't have the necessary equipment to put water on the rocks for steam. The one thing that I wish is that we would have been given extra towels for the hot tubs or they had extra's in the hot tub area, because when you arrive you will find one towel per person in the condo so when we went to the hot tub we were not able to take showers right afterwards without having to wash and dry the towels first. Thank goodness we made sure we had a washer and dryer in our condo.Response from Winter Park Lodging Company - 02/06/2013

Thank you for taking the time to write a detailed review. Glad you enjoyed your stay. Next time you stay with us, if you ever need additional towels, just give us a quick call or email - we'll be over that day with more towels. We're happy to help! We will also let the mgmt company for the building know about getting equipment to put water on the rocks for steam. Great suggestion!

Cincinnati, OHGreat location for weekend get away in Winter Park!
Left on 02/01/2013 for a stay in January 2013
We stayed at #18 for three nights and couldn't have been happier about the place! Plenty of room for 4 people and all the amenities you'd want for a weekend get away. Master bedroom was spacious with a killer view of the slopes at Winter Park. Great location. We rented ski gear next door at the ski rental shop and then hopped on the shuttle that stops right outside this place. Only recommendation for owners would be to upgrade the pots/pans and add a few more cutlery; otherwise, the place was great.

Thanks for the review. We have contacted the owner and know they will be responsive to your suggestion - they want to make the place perfect for guests. Hope to have you back again soon.

The BBQ grill outside did not work. A call to the managment and they took care of it very promptly. The only negatives I can find is that having the master bedroom upstairs and skiing the first time in six years made me wish I didn't have to climb the stairs. The communal hottub was wonderful. I didn't use it until the end of our stay. Next time I'll use it more definitely.

This condo has a lot to offer a family looking to stay near WP. Both bedrooms are a good size as is the family room - nice living space and nice accomodations. The kitchen could be a little better stocked with cooking utensils (if you want to cook) instead of overloaded with dishes. And the condo doesn't have many towels so bring your own. However there were tons of games/videos and things to do plus a hot tub downstairs.
Response from Winter Park Lodging Company - 03/14/2012
Manager
Thank you for the review. We will let the owner know to stock up on more cooking utensils. If you ever feel you're running out of towels and don't want to use the washer/dryer in the unit, just give us a ring and we'll come right over with clean sets. We put enough for the full occupany of the unit, so in this case 6 sets.

TexasNice once we found it
Left on 12/28/2011 for a stay in December 2011
We arrived after 6 pm reporting to the Iron Horse Hotel as specified by the Winter Park Lodging Instructions. After an hour of phone calls between their front desk and your rep, we finally made it to Winter Park Place 18. The property was pitch dark. We had to use our cell phone lights to cautiously move our luggage up 2 flights of stairs. Very dangerous. The property was without exterior lighting until Tuesday. Not safe. Then we finally got into the unit and it was 50 degrees! Come on, ya'll knew we were coming. Couldn't you have turned up the heat? This extended check in forced us to go grocery shopping late into the evening and made it too late for us to pick up our ski equipment. Therefore we were not able to ski on Sunday as we had planned. The overall unit is beautiful and spacious. Other problems we encountered were not having the right information to use the internet and gain access to the hot tub. Sam was very helpful and available for after hour questions. We appreciate her patience. The shuttle was fairly helpful coming by every 20-30 min. I think the whole experience would have been do much better if we had received the correct check in instructions from the beginning, if the condo exterior was lit and the condo was heated to 65 degrees.

I sincerely apologize for the misinformation. That is very unlike us to email the wrong check in instructions, I we apologize. If we had sent you the correct information, it would have had the correct directions, internet info, and hot tub code.
We also will speak with our inspection crew to be sure they keep the heat up before arrival. We all try to exceed expectations for our guests, so we take this complaint seriously and will do everything in our power to make sure it doesn't happen again.

From the minute we hit the door we felt comfortable. The place was very clean, had all the supplies we needed to get us started for our visit, and there was even a little welcome bag on the table!
The view of the mountain (& lifts) coupled with the river out our front door had our kids crying when it was time to leave - they wanted to move in. :)
We were there in the summer, but I can imagine it would be a perfect ski vacation rental as well.
Winter Park Lodging Company was stellar in service, communication and responsiveness. I highly recommend this unit and Winter Park Lodging Company! -

Really enjoyed Winter Park Place 18. Great facility: nice layout, adequate space, fine accommodating furniture, excellent kitchen, good view, and all-in-all, warm and comfortable (although outside temp wasn't severe). Wanted to use the hot tub, but was warned off about hot water shortage...a real bummer. Why have a private hot tub that can't be enjoyed? Recommend for 3-4 persons.

We spent a fabulous week-end at WP place 18. It is very clean, nicely designed, the master bedroom is vast and the ensuite bathroom very nice. It took us a couple of minutes by bus to get to the bottom of the slopes, very convenient! We had absolutely no problems, we thought it was wonderful.

Colorado Springs, COA Home away from Home
Left on 07/12/2010 for a stay in June 2010
My husband & I stayed at WPP #18 for a week in June with our two young children & really enjoyed it. The place was very clean, spacious, convenient, & comfortable. It was decorated very nicely and felt modern; not at all run-down like many other properties in the area. It really did feel like home with a fully-operational kitchen, dining area, TV/living area, separate bedroom & bath for our toddler, large master suite & bath upstairs for my husband & I that could easily accomodate our infant's pack & play. In fact, we easily could have put the crib in the large walk-in closet to give the baby his own space. Our only complaint was a lack of hot water for showering & using the jacuzzi tub. A plummer came out during our stay & was able to crank up the water heater, which helped with showers, but there was still not enough hot water to fill the jacuzzi. Disappointing, but not enough to put a damper on our experience. While in the area, we toured a suite at the Vintage Hotel nearby for comparison purposes. Wow were we glad we'd chosen WPP! The Vintage was very old, run-down, & just icky feeling, not to mention more expensive. I'm sure it would be convenient for those there to ski, but I'm the type who considers ambiance very important & I'm sure I enjoyed my trip much more because of the nice accomodations at WPP.
Response from Winter Park Lodging Company - 07/18/2010
Manager
thanks for the great review! Yes, the water tank can't handle filling the jacuzzi along with multiple showers at the same time so you have to keep them separate. Only solution is to soak in the common area hot tub while the other folks shower. Hope to have you back soon!

We enjoyed our two nights here. The condo is spacious, well-equipped and has very nice furniture. The supply of DVD's and game was great! The hot tub in the complex was nice as well. My only warning to unwary bathers would be this: filling the jacuzzi tub halfway will totally deplete your hot water.

My three girlfriends and I stayed here for four nights and had a great time. You
can walk to the base or catch a shuttle. The fireplaces are great and all the
kitchen supplies and furnishings were great to have.
The second bedroom is much smaller than the Master, so the two people in
that bedroom were a bit cramped, but it all worked out.
I highly recommend it. -
