We've been coming to Wintergreen for years and we loved our stay at this cozy mountain home. Although we enjoy the restaurants in the resort we ended up preparing our meals in the beautiful kitchen staying in and enjoying the mountain views. A perfect family retreat. We look forward to return during ski season.

Our family loved this house. We loved the location on the mountain that was so handy to all the activities and restaurants both on the mountain and in the valley. We felt like we were in a tree house as we saw great wooded views from the many windows. The house was very clean and well provisioned for all our needs. Everyone had their own private space whether it was a reading nook, a TV area or just sitting watching the fire in the wood burning stove. We made dinner on the grill on the two level deck and it was heaven to sit out on the deck in the hammock or to eat a meal at the table on the top deck when the weather was warm enough. We also enjoyed the many good restaurants, winery's and brew pubs. A wonderful house in an area of Virginia that is rich in many things to do. We will be back and we will recommend the house to our friends!

Our family of five has stayed at this beautiful home twice-once in the winter and recently over Labor Day weekend. What a great retreat! Nestled in the woods, but convenient to all resort amenities and slopes, it is the perfect location. We loved the architecture of the home, especially all the windows. It was warm over Labor Day weekend, so we opened the windows and turned on the ceiling fans and the home was absolutely blissful within minutes! There was a portable air conditioner, but we didn't need to use it because the home cooled down so quickly. There was plenty of room for our family and the finishes in the home are first rate. From the beautiful kitchen to the comfortable mattresses, it is obvious that the owners pay attention to every detail. The kids especially loved the sleeping loft where they could gaze at the stars through the skylight before bed. We all loved the home and can't wait to return for many years to come!

My family stayed at your house for 4 days this past august. We enjoyed it very much & would certainly stay here again. The house was very clean & the decor was "out of a magazine"! Our two grandsons especially enjoyed the loft with the steps that we adults avoided. It became their hideaway on a particularly rainy Sunday. The resort was not as quite as wonderful. We bought a pass for the zip line & tubing only to find that they were open only on the weekend. As we had other plans for Saturday, we had planned to take advantage of these rides on Sunday. It rained all day Sunday & the rides were not even open!!! We finally did get a refund(after somewhat of a hassle) for these. Also you might want to shop for groceries before you get to the resort as the food is limited & quite expensive. Along the same lines, maybe the owner could add a few more basics(cooking oil, spices, etc.) & some utensils for the grill.
I would recommend this rental to my friends & I would love to stay there again. -

We really enjoyed our stay at 20 Butternut Lane at Wintergreen. The house is on a small, quiet street. It is a two-minute drive to ski slopes and the Market, and five minutes to the pool and spa. It is beautifully situated with great views of forest and the surrounding hill from the many large windows. The open kitchen and dining area is very convenient, and our children loved playing in the loft room and the large living room. After a day on the mountain, we relaxed in front of the fire and enjoyed movies on the large television. We would definitely consider staying again.

My husband and I and our 3 children stayed at Charleen's wonderful Wintergreen retreat over Columbus Day Weekend. It was our first time to Wintergreen and we were looking forward to getting away from it all. We were not disappointed! The house was bright, sunny and open. The weather was absolutely beautiful and the leaves were just beginning to change. The house was very private and was surrounded by beautiful foliage.
During the day we took advantage of the great hiking trails within and surrounding the resort. One of our favorites was The Plunge, a hiking trail with incredible views of the mountains. We also went to nearby Lake Sherando. We hiked around the lake and the boys had fun fishing. On Saturday we visited the local farmers maket in the morning and then spent the afternoon at the Resort. The kids tubed and went on the zip-line and then we all headed over to the aquatic center to swim.
We used Charleen's resort passes and had no trouble getting in.
In the evenings, we lit a cozy fire, made dinner, and played board games with the kids. Charleen's house was very comfortable and spacious and had all of the amenities of home. I would love to come back again soon with the kids and invite another family to join us. We had a fun and memorable weekend in Wintergreen. -

The house was great. Very charming, tons and tons of sunlight flowed in through dozens of windows. The house and kitchen had all the things you need. Next time we go to Wintergreen we'll be booking this house again.

We stayed at this house twice in the past few years. Very charming house with beautiful views. The only complaint we would have is it's a little far from the main lodge and ski slopes and the living room wasn't as comfortable as we would have wanted it to be. Otherwise we would recommend it.

The house is only one half mile to the ski center and the main lodge. I tell all prospective renters this before they book. We give all guests the use of our electronic parking pass so they may park in the owner's lot which is right next to the slopes and the main lodge.

My wife and kids and I stayed here a couple of years ago and it is still one of the most memorable places we've stayed. Just a cozy beautiful home very very close to Wintergreen's main lodge. The potbelly stove can literally heat the whole house which was incredible. I had to go back and do a review as we plan to stay there again soon. We got a major snowfall while we were there making it a weekend we'll never forget.

Spent two wonderful nights over memorial weekend at this cabin. It gives you the rustic experience without skimping on modern conveniences. Amenities were great and the place was very well maintained. Comfortable accomodated two families with kids. The location is convenient for hikes to places like Crabtree Falls, and every drive in the area is absolutely gorgeous (although the hills could be harsh on your brakes). We would definitely return and have already recommended the place to other friends.
