Peace, quiet, serene - perfect cabin for 2

Left on 09/16/2012 for a stay in September 2012

These 2 chalets are adjacent to a larger home, but are secluded enough to make you feel like you are on your own, in your own private wilderness world. For a city couple, this was just the getaway we needed. Peace and quiet, with views of a very starry sky above, and lots of wildlife to look at from the deck - deer in the fields (herds of them!) and eagles and osprey in the skies...
The 2 cabins are very close to each other, which kind of alarmed me at first, but to be honest, we never noticed the other couple (and hope they didn't notice us!), as the cabins are situated so that no windows, decks or entrances face each other. Chalet a seems to have the slightly better view of the fields (only because it isn't as 'obstructed' by trees!), but we managed to still see alot of wildlife activity from the deck of Chalet B.
Inside, the cabins are small - about 300 sq feet or so, but really well laid out, with all the basics: comfortable bed, good bath/shower, small kitchen, and a fireplace we didn't need in September, but I'm sure is fantastic in the winter months.
Yes, we loved it. A great find in an area where rooms are way more expensive, and definitely not as private and secluded.
      What a great weekend away.

Winthrop's Best Secret for Peace and Privacy

Left on 08/31/2011 for a stay in August 2011

I have stayed at Eagle Pine Chalets 4 times now. Obviously we like it! The cabins are quiet and peaceful, and exactly what we want when we have a weekend away. You check yourself in and out, so you don't ever actually waste time with all that. However, the owners are very helpful and available if you have any questions by phone or email.

The price is great and Nigel is often willing to do a deal for multiple nights. The cabins have a little fridge and microwave, plus BBQ on the porch. Great pottery from almquist Pottery in Winthrop is provided for plates, mugs. Kitchen well stocked with other utensils, glass dishes for microwave cooking. There is a fireplace for the winter and air conditioning for the summer. Great little loft library/game area.

The best part is your porch overlooks a beautiful meadow where you can watch the horses and deer daily. The Methow Valley Trail system goes right through this big meadow, so you can walk (or ski, snowshoe) right out there for miles.

Close to town but you still feel secluded. Lots and lots to do for everyone in and around Winthrop.

Highly recommended if you like peace, quiet, natural beauty and a well set up cabin.
