Our almost-new 1,500 sq. foot cabin has four bedrooms that await you with all the comforts of home. Amenities abound and the kitchen is furnished with extras like a milk-shake machine, panini press and espresso maker. Enjoy the wrap-around balcony, where you look directly into the trees while you watch squirrels, birds, and feed the jays. Inside, you have a view into the trees from every room. You’ll be in the quiet, peaceful environment of beautiful Alta Sierra, with plenty of fun and excitement not far away. Kamala is on a quiet residential street in the little mountain community of Alta Sierra, CA. Step out the back door into the Sequoia National Forest to walk or hike, or take a 20-minute ride to Isabella Lake and the Kern River for water sports, fishing and rafting. Ten minutes in the other direction takes you to Alta Sierra Ski Resort and Terrain Park for skiing, tubing and snow boarding in season. Restaurants, grocery stores and other shops are nearby in Kernville or Lake Isabella, and the Greenhorn Grill is one block away for delicious dining. It's a quiet, peaceful getaway. Summers are pleasant; Kamala is a great getaway from the heat of the city. Winters are cold and there is usually snow on the ground for sledding and snowman-making right outside the door.

I can't say enough great things about Kamala. The location, so close to Bakersfield, makes it the perfect weekend getaway. It was extra special for us to spend the long Thanksgiving weekend there. The ample bedroom space gave us each our own place to get away, and the kitchen/living area was the perfect place to gather. The fully stocked kitchen made turkey-day prep a breeze--it had everything for all of our cooking needs. Shirley Meadows ski and sledding area is a ten-minute drive and my kids skiied for the first time! Thanks for a great time!

I would recommend this cabin to everyone. My family and I had a great time for christmas 2010. Susan was very nice friendly person, I talked to her directly for any questions I had regarding our stay. Anyone who rents the Kamala Kabin will enjoy every minute of it. It has easy acess, its spacious, and very nice and cozy inside. My family and I plan on returning very soon.
