Left on 05/12/2013 for a stay in May 2013
We have stayed here a few times now and cannot praise it highly enough. It's our ultimate holiday destination and Donna and Ged are wonderful hosts always making our stay very special. We usually spend our time being extremely busy doing nothing, just watching the changing face of the River Deben. We're already counting down the days to our next visit in September and we've also booked up for next year.

The level of service and facilities in the cottage were excellent... it was tastefully decorated and very warm ... much needed with the snow outside.

My stay at Quayside Cottage was fantastic. Donna & Ged could not be more welcoming to their guests. The accommodation is immaculate yet comfortable and homely. The surrounding area is simply beautiful. This is definitely worth a visit for anyone who would like a relaxing & carefree break by the River Deben. You can easily find some lovely walks and views on the doorstep, or the more adventurous can even venture onto the river itself. The local pub is moments away and serves some tasty food and a decent pint. I cannot recommend this enough; I would certainly return and will be recommending all of my friends.

We have been visiting Quayside Cottage now for several years and always cannot wait to return. Donna & Ged cannot do enough to make your stay very special, with special regard to privacy. The Cottage for us is very home from home, especially as this area is where Bob was brought up and his family live. We always have a family meal along at The Maybush on a Thursday when we are staying, which for us is just great. Bob is a fisherman and loves all the wildlife, and I just always bring along new knitting. The Newbourne Farm shop is also a great local help when needing provisions or gifts. Can't wait to return.

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful cottage, the owners were helpful, informative and very welcoming. The cottage has everything needed for a long or short stay, and the extra'little touches' were all much appreciated. The nearby Pub has excellent food and although very busy at times, the service was efficient and friendly. The surrounding countryside offers scenic walks and Woodbridge is only a short drive away. We would recommend this cottage to everyone, but would like to keep to ourselves so we could book again soon !!

We were greeted warmly by Donna on our arrival at Quayside, Waldringfield, Suffolk where we were to stay in the absolutely charming Boathouse for three days. And a further welcome awaited: lemon drizzle cake from the local farm shop and two small bottles of wine, as well, of course, as the usual tea, coffee, milk etc. Although the water (the Deben) is not quite lapping at the door of the Boathouse, it is at the bottom of the garden where tables and chairs await the romantic! The light of the moon on the river on a calm night is a beautiful sight. The Boathouse is very tastefully furnished and equipped - everything has been thought of. There is literature on all the region's attractions and Donna is ably helped by Ged and Stuart in ensuring guests have all other needs.

We stayed for a second time in The Boathouse in early august. Last year we had only been there for one day when we re-booked! This property and the family that own and manage it are absolutely perfect, in fact if we could award more than 5 stars we would!! Donna & Ged cannot be faulted. They look after all your needs without being obtrusive. The property is very well maintained and extremely clean and well equipped. The scenery from the little private 'quayside' is so peaceful and relaxing and there to be used whenever you like. Suffolk has lovely places to visit, what more could you want? Donna, Ged and Stuart have become our friends and we truly promise that we will return in the future. Absolutely love it!!

Nothing is too much trouble for Ged and Donna, who always follow up a very warm welcome with suggestions for trips/walks and information on the area. The accommodation is very well appointed with lots of useful things not generally found in a holiday rental - all made to make you feel more at home. The location is superb. Every evening at dusk we could watch as flocks of birds came to roost on the "island" in the middle of the tidal river, and listen to the song of curlews before they (and we) settled down for the night. The area is noted for its natural beauty so there are many good walks, long or short. The Maybush Inn is barely 2 mins walk away - they have a good menu and are always busy, but have service down to a fine art so food appears very quickly.
Wonderful location if you like quiet but like to be near to civlisation!Response from Ged & Donna Morgan - 10/03/2012

Can you remember where you were on 'Super Saturday', watching Team GB win 3 golds in one evening? I can. Sitting with an ice-cold glass of cider in my favourite spot in the whole country. Quayside Cottage has provided us with 6 memorable holidays so far and many more I hope. The cottage is always spotless and beautifully presented, the outlook over the river is breathless. Even rainy days can't dampen our joy at finding the place. You don't have to leave the cottage to enjoy yourself, but if you do their are numerous places to visit. Woodbridge is a delightful little town and we always manage to fit in a visit to Snape Maltings, Orford and Shingle Street. The vineyard at Framlingham is also well worth a visit, and the wine's excellent too. Ged, Donna and Stuart always make you feel welcome and will often suggest somewhere new to visit. A trip on their boat on the Deben is a must. All in all I can't praise Quayside Cottage highly enough - but please, don't all rush there because it's mine and I don't share well... Quayside Cottage deserves much more than just 5 stars.

We have stayed at Quayside Cottage many times over the last 3 years. It is simply the best self-catering cottage we have ever seen in the UK. It is beautifully equipped, wonderfully comfortable and has brilliant views. Donna and Ged are friendly and helpful hosts with a hospitality ethic that is quite special.
Even in the depths of winter, Quayside is warm and friendly with a cosy conservatory and peaceful views of the river. There are plenty of good river & seaside walks and pretty towns within easy reach, with good opportunities for retail therapy in Ipswich, Felixstowe and Woodbridge!

This is the best location for exploring the river Deben. Great walks and a wonderful cottage with every thing you need - all you need to do is bring food or eat out at lots of wonderful pubs and restaurants. Quayside Cottage is highly rated with every mod con including a heated bathroom floor - can't get better than that! Donna and Ged are very friendly and very good hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them. A wonderful stay in Quayside Cottage 2010 and 2011 came home both times with wonderful pictures. If we could only choose one venue for all our future holidays it would be Quayside Cottage. A well appointed very comfortable and stylish bungalow. From the moment we entered the conservatory and took in the view we knew we would enjoy our 2 weeks whatever the weather, although we had a sunny fortnight apart from 2 days.Great to lie in bed in the morning and watch the sunlight play on the water.
Donna and Ged are wonderful hosts making you most welcome, we met as strangers and left as friends. We have already booked in for 2 more hols.
We spent many happy hours sitting in the garden, taking in the beautiful river view and the odd glass(or two) of wine.
Plenty of places to eat out, The Maybush only a few yards away. We tent to cook for ourselves and love the local farmshops, farmers markets and the Suffolk Foodhall.
