Bowmont Cottage is a 2 bedroom cottage that can be interconnected to the cottage next door providing further living accomodation and a further 3 bedrooms. This Northumbrian cottage sits upon a hill and is surrounded by the most breathtaking views. It is a superb cottage for all year round; during the summer evenings you can enjoy alfresco dining, whilst in the winter you can sit beside the wood burning stove in the living room but still surrounded by those spectacular views. Dogs and horses are welcome!

Wooler is the closest market town where you will find a good range of local shops and amenities. There is a huge amount to see and do i...n the area, including Alnwick Castle and gardens, where Harry Potter was filmed; this is just 30 minutes away by car. The Northumberland coastline offers many enjoyable days out also, including long sandy beaches, Lindisfarne and Bamburgh Castle, you can even take a boat trip out to Lindisfarne otherwise known as Holy Island locally. Floors Castle and Kelso races both in the Scottish Border are within easy reach too.

College Cottage and Bowmont Cottage are part of a small traditional Northumbrian steading, where both cottages are available to holiday let individually or as one large property accommodating up to 12 guests through the interconnecting doors. The location and setting is absolutely breathtaking, making it a prefect get away retreat for all the family. The cottages are surrounded by the tranquil rolling hills of the College Valley and the Cheviot National Park. Both cottages have been recently renovated and adapted so that they take full advantage of the surrounding uninterrupted views. The owners aim to provide the highest standard of comfort in the most extraordinary setting.

The cottage is oil centrally heated and comprises:

* Utility/boot room with drying facilities, Belfast sink, freezer and storage.

* Large opne plan lounge/kitchen/diner and a seperate sitting room with a wood burning stove Sky TV, DVD player, book case filled with a variety of books, CD’s, and DVD’s.

* Bathroom with shower, hand basin and WC.

* Outside patio area with garden furniture perfect for alfresco dining.

First floor:

* Double bedroom with King sized bed and en suite bathroom with a free standing roll-top bath, separate shower, hand basin and WC.

* Second bedroom has a ¾ bed and a single bed with en-suite shower room, hand basin and WC.

* Both cottages include bed linen, towels, electric, oil and logs.

* Parking available for numerous cars.

* Spacious gardens and outside areas to explore.

* Patio area with garden furniture.

* Horses and dogs more than welcome, stables and kennels available.

* Storage for bikes available.

* The cottages can be let separately or as one large property sleeping 12 through interconnecting doors. The ground floor of College Cottage is wheelchair friendly.

  We were a party of three and stayed at Bowmont Cottage Oct 2012. The cottage is really lovely, spacious, very well furnished and equipped. It was warm and cosy and plenty of hot water for lovely long bath after walking. Very good showers too. It really had everything we wanted and needed.
  
  The views are spectacular and worth the drive up the long track. It's in pretty good repair but a four wheel drive makes it easier. If you want peace and quite, beautiful location and good quality accommodation then this is the place to go. If you want easy access to the facilities of a town then it's possibly a bit out of the way.
  
  Having Sky was good for dark evenings, there is no mobile signal until you get down the lane a little way and no wifi but you can use the landline phone.
  
  Booking was easy and we were warmly welcomed on arrival. The little welcome basket of goodies was also very nice.
  
  It was great for our dog too.
  
  We loved it here and would definitely go back.

  Peace and quiet in comfortable surroundings

  We were made very welcome by the owner. The house was very well equipped and comfortable.
  
  We were a little surprised at just how far off the beaten track it was. Although this wasn't a problem to us there were some large holes in the road which may cause damage to smaller cars which are not 4 x 4.
  
  The location is beautiful, very peaceful and ideal for a relaxing holiday.
