Although situated on a large estate with other villas, this unique Tuscany villa rental has a private setting and beautiful views. The estate's vast private land borders a National Park so it is not uncommon to spy deer, pheasants, and other wild game. Beautifully landscaped with native flora, this Tuscany farmhouse villa's private grounds include a lovely swimming pool surrounded by comfortable lounge chairs. It is an ideal spot to enjoy peace, quiet, and spectacular views of the Tuscan countryside. This is a great farmhouse holiday in Tuscany for a large group or family because each beautifully furnished bedroom has its own large en suite b...athroom. There are trails and dirt roads on the estate for jogging or walking. Conveniently located in Southern Tuscany, it is possible to take day trips to Montepulciano, Montalcino, Pienza, and Cortona, as well as destinations in Umbria, such as Perugia, Orvieto, and Todi. You can arrange to have a cook prepare meals in your own home, or drive 8 minutes into the nearby town for dinner.

[2000 acres] An 11th century abbey is the focal point of this estate. There are eleven independent, Tuscan luxury villa rentals decorated in a similar minimalist, architectural style. Each villa is separate and private from other structures, and each has a wonderful view. Casa Le Quaglie was restored in 2000. This farmhouse dates back to the 15th and 16th centuries. It is accessed by 6 km of a dirt and gravel road. Therefore, it enjoys seclusion and privacy. The house is surrounded by country fields. The private swimming pool has a great view and a grapevine-covered gazebo provides shade close to the pool. There is a multi-leveled garden with lots of trees.

Ground floor: There is a spacious entrance/sitting room, a dining room with access to the garden, a kitchen, a living room with TV and large fireplace, a guest bathroom, and a laundry room. There is a large double bedroom with sofa bed, en suite bathroom, and access to the garden. There is also a twin-bedded room with en suite bathroom with shower and access to the garden.

Mezzanine level: There is a lovely twin-bedded room with sofa bed with en suite bathroom with shower. Please note that the ceilings on this level are lower. This room is most suitable for children.

First floor: There is one double bedroom with en suite bathroom, two twin-bedded rooms with access to the garden with en suite bathrooms [one with tub and the other with shower], and another twin-bedded room with en suite bathroom with shower.

The estate is located south of Siena, 12 km southwest of the Chiusi/Chianciano exit of the A1 autostrada. The nearest town is Sarteano [10km.] It is not within walking distance. The nearest grocery store in Sarteano is open in the morning until 1:00 pm and in the afternoon from 4:30 - 7:30 pm. There is also a large supermarket off the A1 autostrada which is open all day until 8:30 pm. Sarteano has good restaurants for lunch or dinner. Chiusi offers a large supermarket and good restaurants also. It takes about 1 ½ hours to drive to Siena and Assisi.

Nearby attractions: There are thermal pools and spas within a 15-minute drive from the estate. The closest tennis court is in Sarteano, 5 km from the estate [reservations are necessary]. There are two horseback riding establishments 5 km away. The nearest golf course is 25 minutes away by car.

  Everyone at the Abbey was great. The place was clean and well kept. The local cooks were also wonderful.
  
  The fabulous view and seclusion
  
  The road leading up to the property - it has ruts and rocks. If it had rained significantly while we were there, it would have been difficult.
  
  The old hill towns of Tuscany are wonderful. We enjoyed visiting them and exploring.

  The property is beautiful. A wonderfully decorated Villa with amazing views.
  
  The view, the villa itself, the rooms and the furnishings.
  
  Location was too remote for us (requiring a four mile drive on a dirt track road). Rent a 4 X 4 with a decent sized engine, then it would be great fun getting to the villa and back!
  
  The views of the Val D'Orcia & the wildlife - Wild boar, Pheasant, huge Hare and Deer. Sarteano was 30 minutes away, but Montepulciano and Pienza were delightful.

  A delightful property! The views are spectacular. Wonderful design and art in the house. Really, really nice! The location is fabulous. If someone has an eye for design and art they will love this house.
  
  Everything, except for the road leading to the property! Having 7 bedrooms and 7 baths, two living rooms - the whole way the place is outfitted - was really wonderful. Wonderful towels and sheets; loved the lighting. The dishes are very special.
  
  The dirt road leading to the property - too many rocks! It definitely needs to be improved.
  
  There is a great little castle in Radicofani, which is a wonderful town. You can see the castle from the house. Orvieto is a wonderful day trip - best by the back roads. The whole area is full of wonderful places to visit.

  The farmhouse and spectacular views and extra fresh air were memorable. We did enjoy a wonderful meal of lamb seasoned with rosemary fresh off the rosemary bushes outside the villa door the first night. Very accomodating host at Abbey as well.
