Description from the manager

This beautiful villa is located in Torre delle Stelle, a very large residential complex composed mainly of vacation villas. The complex is easily accessed off a main road and through three entrances. Please note that all the roads inside the complex are dirt roads which are watered often during the day because of the dust. Some of the villas are scattered among the green; others are close by. Villa Turquoise sits on 500 m2, high on a hill, close to other villas and yet very private. Both the villa and the grounds are very well kept. The nearest towns [about 2 km] are Flumini di Quartu and Villasimius, where there are grocery stores, restauran...Read more

      (Also known as Villa Turchesse)

Left on 09/12/2011 for a stay in September 2011

I won't describe the surrounding area as that has already been done in earlier postings by other guests. Overall this is a lovely villa and is well maintained.
It does however lack in home comforts and personal service when booked through a holiday company. (Only one tea-cloth provided, no downstairs towels provided, no apron provided, only one oven glove etc.) The mattresses and pillows are very firm.
An update is that there is now a tv with digital reception but the only English speaking channel is Sky News. There is also a dvd player but we couldn't get this to work so used our own portable player (which had the advantage of being able to use it outside).
The villa is completely devoid of any cleaning materials and basics such as salt, pepper etc as these appear to be removed by the agent if guests leave them behind. We tried to leave a full and sealed bottle of water for the next guests but this was also removed by the agent. When booking through the company that we used, air conditioning was supposed to be the only additional charge but the agent tried to charge us for all the electricity (we hadn't used the air-con at all as my husband doesn't like it). It may be worthwhile asking the agent to remove the hand controls when you arrive as proof that you haven't used the air-con to avoid a charge for all the electricity if this is an issue for you. Being on a hill and by the coast, there was a refreshing breeze most of the time
When we arrived at the meeting place to be guided to the villa, we had to wait in a nearby cafe for the agent "for a few minutes" which turned into an hour and forty minutes - not ideal when you have spent the day travelling. If we had know we were to be waiting for that long then we could have dined to fill in the time.
Having mentioned the drawbacks, the positives are the villa's location and setting is quite probably the loveliest we have stayed at. We ventured out to restaurants only three times as no restaurant could beat the setting of the villa - the evening sky, the lights of the villas on the opposite hill, the moon shimmering on the sea and the sound of the waves on the shore. We were quite happy to make a pasta dish or BBQ and enjoy the view from the terrace of our temporary home. (The fish at the local shop is varied and delicious and the local supermarket sells everything that you could wish for. Both shops have very friendly staff).
The Turchesse sleeps four. The Villa Emerald (also known as Turhcesse B or Esmerelda), which sleeps up to six is next door and there is access through a small gate if required.

The views and location were stunning. You could take in the sea and beach views uninterupted from almost everywhere on the property

The lounge area was a little limited, and the TV reception could have been better, as I missed both Soccer and Rugby matches. Also needed a stereo.

We had a fantastic view on the seaside and beach. It was according to the online description and also very true to the pictures which were published.

When we arrived around 700pm on Saturday, we were a bit disappointed not to find a minimum of food to get us going at least until the next morning. We had only a 2-hour flight, but we can imagine for people flying from further away, going grocery shopping is the last thing you want to do.

We really enjoyed the scenery of the southeast coast. Very beautiful, turquoise blue sea and very natural wild vegetation.
