Hidden away on a sleepy street, Margerita is a great base for a relaxing stay on Gozo. The private courtyard becomes a nice afternoon suntrap, so it was lovely to be able to leap into the pool and cool off. The pool is a nice size for splashing around in, especially as it goes down to two metres at the deep end.
The house was perfect for the two of us (in fact we were spoilt for space). Downstairs there is a really large kitchen/living area downstairs and there are two cosy double en suites upstairs. The large roof terrace (BBQ included) looks out towards the sea (just!) in one direction, and across the rooftops to the hills in the other. A beautiful place to watch the sunset over a glass of local wine, or local bitter/sweet softdrink called Kinne.
The town square is only 5 minutes walk away, so it is very easy to take advantage of the restaurants and shops. It is a very relaxing town, which moves at a gentle pace.Response from Noel and Carmen Cachia - 10/15/2011

very spacious and was great value for money for our big family. the pool (slightly larger than a plunge pool) provided lots of fun for us!
the house was very comfy - the tv gave us a bit of entertainment in the evening as there wasn't much to do in the area. bathrooms were great - all very modern and clean.
we did have problems with our water (we had no hot water for most of our 10 day stay, which was difficult with a toddler) but what we lacked in hot water, we gained in a very friendly, helpful, attentive land lord! carmen and her husband came as soon as they could to fix any problems! i really would recommend this villa because of how helpful they were!
the villa is a bit isolated, but if you are going for a slow pace holiday where you can do lots of walking then go for it! the walk to ramla beach or Victoria is relatively easy, although a bit long, but we enjoyed it!Response from Noel and Carmen Cachia - 08/11/2011

We are glad with the review. Just want to point out that the house is best suited for 2 persons or a family of 4. We had given this advice before booking but still the property was nevertheless reserved and we are pleased to note that the holiday was enjoyed at Margerita. Margerita is in the centre of a very traditional village, Xaghra - home to various historical places like Ggantija Neolithic Temples but the beaches are best reached by car or bus. It is a pity to note 3 stars to such a positive review but this is a personal perspective.
