The Coral Garden Inn is your private piece of paradise located on the carribean waters and beaches of Xcalak, Quintana Roo, a safe and secure fishing village on the beautiful Costa Maya. Experience your own white sand beach, breathtaking ocean views, crystal clear waters, warm tropical breezes and a night sky that will leave you breathless. Only two other homes,300 meters south of the villa share this quiet,secluded environment.

Our invitation is for you and your family to relax and enjoy our beautifully furnished ocean front villa that overlooks the 2nd largest barrier reef in the world. The Villa is an enchanting 2 condo complex with... authentic hand-hewn wood and rattan furniture, decorative Mexican tile floors, bathrooms and counter tops, and local artisan designed wall decorations and bedspreads. Each spacious,1500 square foot condo has 2 large bedrooms, a large, open common space that includes the living room, dining room and kitchen and a full-size bathroom. Outside the sliding glass doors of the living area and master bedroom of the upper condo, is an expansive deck, spanning the ocean front and side of the house. The lower condo looks out onto a patio located not more than 50 feet from the water. Each master bedroom has an ocean view. The condos are identical and each can sleep up to 6 people.

The 3rd floor observation roof offers breathtaking views of the Caribbean to the east and lagoons and mangrove jungle to the west. There is a convenient outdoor shower for washing off after visiting the beach or swimming in the ocean. Caretakers are on-site to offer security and assistance. The Villa (both condos) is ideal for family and friends who want to travel together or because both condos are seperate they can accomodate a smaller group with complete privacy from noise and unwanted interruption.

  Our family rented the top floor for a week, with my wife's sister and her family joining us the last 5 days on the bottom floor. Perfect in-law situation: room to be together, room to be apart. The house was very clean (at least until the teenagers and two year old got done with it), and well set up with solid kitchen equipment and great relaxation potential on the upstairs balcony.
  As everywhere we have been in Xcalak (Reef House and Casa Caracola), the greatest amenity is the sea breeze and the snorkeling outside the house. Here, the upstairs had the better breeze, and we all tended to congregate there (One of the denizens of the downstairs said our terra cotta fish on the wall looked happier - because the trees are dense in front of the house, it is brighter upstairs). Snorkeling here was great, although the water was quite shallow in the areas we tried that are accessible by walking or kayaking from the house (two kayaks, both in great shape). The hosts have left a guide for other nearby snorkeling areas, but no one felt like the drive, and the bikes did not seem particularly roadworthy.
  The beach walking was also very good here. Our beach was cleaned every morning by the caretakers, and most beaches to the north as well, such that we could (and did) walk an hour that way along very nice sand strips for the most part. We were there holy week, and there are a number of both developed and undeveloped campsites along the beach there, but never any disruption of our peace and quiet at the house. Lupita, the caretaker's daughter, is a delight, and the two very friendly dogs make you feel right at home.
  We were a little apprehensive about the house being on the other side of the road from the beach. However, this far (9km) from town, the road is barely that, and just seems a slightly different part of the beach. Even with a lot of camping and other activity around us, we only noticed a handful of cars per day, and did not even have any incidents with the toddler. So that trepidation was not an issue at all.
  The only drawback to the Coral Garden Inn is the distance from town. 20-25 minutes to the dive shop, and restaurants. However, the peace and seclusion make up for that, and we only were in town a couple nights anyway.
  Coral Garden Inn is a great option for groups needing a large house. Can't beat the prices, either.

  I visited the Coral Garden Inn for a week with my husband. The drive is long as if you are going to the end of the road and then appears this beautiful two story home facing the flowing palm trees and the blue green waters of the Carribean. Inside is so easy and comfortable with lots of room, everything you need in the kitchen plus great books and movies. It took me a couple of days to slow down and then I found the groove of this place. I like how the wind blows everything away and the heat of the day feels great against the water. I had never snorkeled before and that was fascinating, especially seeing the underwater desert -like plants and the deep purple coral.
  
  The family who caretakes the property is lovely, always helpful and making the outdoors so beautiful with new foliage.
  It took me getting used to no real village to shop in and instead buy off the fruit truck that came by every few days. It truly is at the end of the road and is a very beautiful place to settle into and be connected to wondrous nature.
  
  I would recommend this as a real getaway from anything resembling a fast pace life.

  We had a fantastic time. We can't imagine a better place or people to stay with.
  Juana and agosta were great hosts and always there to help.
  We encountered everything we needed at the house to cook our meals and make our margaritas. The breezes off the ocean felt wonderful as we ate our dinners on the veranda in the evenings. The snorkeling was fantastic and we spent many days just cruising in the warm water discoving new snorkel spots and observing the incredile sea life. Thank you so much for a wonderful vacation. You are blessed to have this piece of paradise.
