Additional Location Information
Yachats, Oregon is a tiny resort community nestled on the northern Oregon coast. Located just a few miles north of Cape Perpetua, this small town is the perfect place to stroll on the beach in the summer, or watch the wild winter storms.
Fishing on the Yachats River offers the opportunity to catch trout and freshwater salmon. Between April and October, people come to catch the sardine-like smelt. Yachats is one of the few ocean beach areas where smelt come ashore to spawn. The festival includes mushroom walks, mushroom exhibits and identification, as well as music and entertainment. Forest GroveGreat place to stay
Left on 03/28/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We all loved our stay here, everyone from my 3 year old nephew to my retired parents. The house was well stocked in the kitchen and with plenty of linens, so all our needs were well met. The home was beautiful, inside and out, and so full of character and unique qualities. We referred to it as "the castle" because it truly felt that way. My retired father spent plenty of time in the library reading the variety of books, when he wasn't out photographing seals and waves. The private location was delightful making us feel like we had a beach and a rock full of seals all to ourselves. I think this is the only beach house I have ever stayed in where I took as many pictures of the house as I did of the beach. We didn't end up going into Yachats too much because there was plenty to see and do right there in Dragons Cove. Although half of the house is still under constrution, the part available offers plenty of room. (I think we may have gotten lost if there had been more.) We really enjoyed our stay and would love to stay here again.

Albany, ORThe most unique beach house I've ever seen
Left on 03/11/2013 for a stay in February 2013
My girlfriends and I stayed a long weekend in early March at the House at Dragon's Cove. I had seen it from above on Hwy. 101 numerous times and couldn't believe it when I found out it was available to rent! The setting is completely unbelievable, and the house itself amazing, funky and unique. There's a beautiful water feature in the front and nothing in back but a sloping lawn to the rocks upon which the ocean ceaselessly crashes. I could sit there and just watch for hours and not get bored. We especially enjoyed watching the harbor seals every low tide.
The house was clean and very comfortable, with several choices for sitting and relaxing. The kitchen was well-stocked; the bedrooms and baths had everything we needed. The property manager was very responsive and easy to deal with. I just loved lying in bed at night and feeling the house shudder periodically from the crashing of the waves.
There are a number of wonderful restaurants in Yachats, just a mile north on Hwy. 101. My personal favorites are the Drift Inn (live music every Saturday night) and Green Salmon (closes at 2 p.m., and closed on Mondays), which has the best coffee and tea on the Oregon coast. (Try the Banshee Brew!) Their pastries and lunches are fabulous as well.
You could spend all day exploring Cape Perpetua: Cook's Chasm (just south of the house) features Thor's Well and the Spouting Horn. Devil's Churn may make you seasick! And there's a wonderful trail that runs between the parking lot at Cook's Chasm and the Usfs day use area at Devil's Churn. There's also a short, lovely loop trail around the top of Cape Perpetua, with spectacular views to the north and south.
I highly recommend this rental and would definitely stay here again.

We could not ask for a better place. Everything was spectacular. The contact person was super, the home is warm and cozy, (not like a rental property)and we are looking forward to when we can book it again. Thank you for making it available to share with so many.

Portland, ORAmazing Vacation!
Left on 07/24/2012 for a stay in July 2012
I stayed two nights at the House at Dragon's Cove and cannot recommend it highly enough! The view was absolutely breathtaking and while my guests and I had initially intended on exploring the surrounding area, we were far too enraptured by the beauty and multitude of activities available at the house, and so chose to stay there the entire time! From the seal island to the various hidden treasures within the house, this was a top notch location to stay. I highly recommend it and cannot wait to stay there again in the future!

Ridgefield, WADragon Cove Home
Left on 10/13/2011 for a stay in September 2011
We stayed at the Dragon's Cove house recently as part of a mini family reunion. We have stayed at many many homes along the central coast and I would rate this home the best. The dragon motif is carried off very well and the location is outstanding.

Family of 7 Loved it!
Pleasant Grove UTBest Family Vacation on the Oregon Coast
Left on 07/19/2011 for a stay in July 2011
My family and I which consisted of myself, my husband, 3 teenage boys, my 10 year old son, and 7 year old daughter stayed her in July of 2011 for 8 nights. This place took my breath away from the moment we saw it! Part of the house is either still under construction or being remodeled but the area which we rented was more than big enough for the 7 of us. Each one of us had our own bed and we have 2 living rooms to spread out in. The view of the ocean was awesome and we had a great view of the Seals everyday hanging out on the rocks below. The kitchen had everything we needed and the bathrooms were cute. Lots of towels to use in the house and we brought our own beachtowels to use. Great laundry room to use so we always had fresh clothes. The home is a treasure trove of fun and unique pieces, most specifically in the "Dragon" Theme. My daughter was a little leary of the masks on some of the walls but the rest of us found different items to enjoy every day. I would love to know the history of the house and after each fund day of crabbing, hiking, or site seeing; it was a home-away-from-home every evening. We would go back in a heartbeat!
