Look out from the rear deck across the wide, expansive yard - thick with trees and vegetation - to where the water starts (a mere hundred feet away) and you just might think you're in a dream. You're not! This lovely, wood-sided Yachats vacation rental home nestled on the edge of Yachats State Park consists of both sides of a duplex. In all, there are three bedrooms and room for up to 10. You and two doggies (who'll love the big yard) can experience the tranquility that's a natural part of Yachats ($10 bucks a night per dog), and you'll enjoy proximity not only to numerous state parks, but shopping and dining in the charming village of Yachat...s, just a two-minute walk from this incredible duplex.
The one-bedroom side of this Yachats vacation rental duplex is on a single level, and offers enough space amenities, and privacy for up to four guests. Though the space is compact, the view is grand, with the ocean visible through every window! On those chilly nights, hunker down in the wood paneled room and watch a cable show or a DVD, warmed by the glow of the quaint wood stove. Though there's a bigger, full kitchen on the premises, the scrappy little kitchenette on this side is bigger for a not too ambitious meal. Its hot plate, coffee grinder and maker, electric skillet, new, small convection oven, and a dorm-sized refrigerator will be just enough to appease your appetite. There's a bedroom with a queen bed on this side, and a colorfully decorated bathroom with plenty of linens.
The other side of the duplex, with two bedrooms and two levels, has a living area that's bigger, yet still cozy. Under the graceful curve of the ornamental ceiling is a warm classic feel, enhanced by a wood pellet stove housed in a bricked-in enclave, and wood paneled entryway with a plush leather chair and lamp for reading. There's a TV, so you can watch a cable show or a DVD (make sure you pack some of your favorites), or listen to a CD. Add the futon in this room to your sleeping options.
Come bedtime, the two bedrooms on this side of the duplex are upstairs. One is the master, a bright, spacious area with a queen size bed that, in the morning, will be bathed in sunlight through four skylights. Watch the Yachats River empty into the Pacific through the south-facing window. Through the west-facing window, you'll have a view of the beautiful Pacific! There's an en suite water closet too. In the other bedroom, you'll find a comfy full bed mounted on a brass frame. And, there's a washer and dryer on the premises so you'll always have a fresh change of clothes.
The two-bedroom side of this duplex has a fully equipped kitchen. Your cook will appreciate the perfect flame height of the gas stove, the full sized fridge, and the microwave. You can grind your favorite beans in the coffee grinder and a corkscrew and wine glasses so you can toast at dinner with your favorite chianti, all served at the table in the bright dining area. When it's all done, everybody pitch in with the clean up. Just load the dishwasher and move on to more entertaining things. For those times when the sun shines, you can move the feast outside, fire up the gas grill, and enjoy a barbecue in the fresh coastal air.
If your thing is fishing, this is the place for you! Hop onto a charter and try your luck in the deep waters of the pacific, or cast your line in the nearby Yachats River, where trout and fresh water salmon are just waiting for your line. Sign on to a whale watching charter and take your chances at seeing one of the magnificent behemoths breach and play. Or, bring the camera over to Seal Rockl, just 18 minutes away, where you can catch the seals cavorting and the rare sea birds going about their daily business on the rocks. Little Yachats is quiet, but not boring! There are all sorts of seasonal and routine events like walking tours, big band concerts on the first Thursday of each month, yoga, dance, and zumba classes. Each month has something different, from Native American art fairs, to book sales, to concerts by the Oregon Coast Chamber Orchestra.

We rented both portions of this duplex for for children, spouses & grandchildren for a short getaway to beautiful Yachats. We absolutely loved it! While it is not the most modern home around, it's quaintness has such a charm that I am sure will draw us back again soon. A big plus is its central location in town - just steps away from the park where you can watch a beautiful sunset or 2 blocks from the local market. The home was complete with everything we could need.
