A true fairy tale...The Lake House is nestled on a five acre parcel of land. This Old World style cottage with open beamed ceilings and cherry plank floors also features a breathtaking view of a large private pond. With a miniature island and footbridge, waterlilies on blue water and willow trees, this tranquil spot is reminiscent of Claude Monet's Lily Ponds at Giverny. The Lake House is truly a captivating site where the world slows down to a comfortable pace.

The Lake House has three enchanting bedrooms, all different in character and color which have been named after the forest flora on the surrounding five-acre property. Two of th...e rooms share a large bathroom with a full size shower and sunken jetted tub, while the master suite has an adjoining private bath. The beds are furnished with high quality linens and down pillows and comforters. Other amenities include shampoo, soaps, hair dryers and lush cotton bath towels. A washer and dryer are also available for your use.

The common living spaces are located on the main floor of the Lake House. The dinning room, living room, nook and kitchen are all adjacent to each other and share the fabulous view of the outdoors.

Create a wonderful meal in the cozy kitchen conveniently stocked with pots, pan and utensils. Every thing is there for you to prepare the wonderful bounty of the Willamette Valley for a feast of culinary delight.

Break bread with special friends and family while seated around a gorgeous New England antique table anchored by two hunting motif high back chairs. Skylights in the vaulted ceiling and staircase bring the colors of the sky inside. This quaint dinning space is detailed with a whimsical chandelier, a stunning historic cabinet and old world charm from plates along a rail on the wall.

Large sofas with warm cozy blankets and pillows allow guest the opportunity to lounge in comfort reading a book or visiting with friends. For those times when television is a must, guests can enjoy their favorite show or catch that important game on the large flat screen television.

For those needing to stay in touch around the world or just can’t leave business behind, the house is equiped with a MiFi HotSpot. Verizon Wireless has excellent cell service at the Lake House and there is a land line too.

The best part of The Lake House is its immediate connection to nature. With the main deck suspended over the edge of the pond, you cannot get much closer to the water unless you jumped in. You can see salamanders glide past and beautiful dragonflies hum and bounce on the water. Or watch as bullfrogs play hide and seek with you under the bounty of lily pads.

The large deck can comfortably seat a small group, and is furnished with lounge chairs and recliners. The Lake House also includes an outdoor dining set with four additional chairs, and a gas grill to satisfy your barbeque needs.

You can bring your cup of coffee or glass of pinot with you on a casual stroll around the lake, as you drink in the sights and sounds of nature. Listen as hawks soar and cry out through the sky, woodpeckers knock on surrounding trees, or just bask in the tranquility of silence.

If you prefer more exercise and adventure, walk through the manicured woods and tour the array of ferns, buttercups, wild iris, and cherry trees. Or perhaps find some outdoor forest friends for your photo journal, such as rabbits, squirrels, birds, deer and elk.Read more

The Lake House is located just outside of Yamhill/Carlton. About 20 minutes from Newberg and within ten minutes of the many wineries and tasting rooms in the valley. The town of Carlton is about 12 minutes away with many wine tasting rooms and restaurants to wander through. Private, picturesque setting.

To qualify for the weekly rental rate, the house must be rented from a Friday to a Friday.

  The property is exquisite. I would have preferred to make payment arrangements and check in directly, versus driving to another small town to obtain the address and receive the keys.
  
  Beautiful, relaxing home. Stairs are narrow and steep, and may be difficult for elderly guests to reach bedrooms.
  
  Apart from that, highly recommend. We had 7 people and more than adequate room/privacy for everyone. Thanks for a great stay!

  Traveled with friends to taste and explore Oregon Wines. We enjoyed staying at the Lake House. Beautiful setting, lovely house, very private. However, it is a drive to go anywhere or get anything, nothing is close by.

  Extraordinary Experience that Could Have Been Better

  First, the location, the house, and the decor were all wonderful. I would certainly repeat the experience in the future, and am likely to do so. My only quibble was some of the electronics didn't work properly, including the air conditioning, the stereo, and the TV. It would be best if someone could visit the house prior to guests' arrival and make sure everything along those lines is turned on and properly working. Since we didn't really need the TV or stereo, and since the weather was pleasant, those three items weren't that much of an annoyance. Overall it was still a very special experience.
