SingaporeJogja's 4 days trip
Left on 04/21/2013 for a stay in April 2013
We are a group of 8 people/adult looking for a nice villa to stay in jogja, and we were fortunate enough to chance upon villa pakem in www.yogyes.com tourism page, lots of information there.
The person in charge of the villa, Mr surnadi is a friendly guy,he understand and speak good english and will reply any email promptly.
Initially we booked our 3 nights stay in Villa Padi , however due to some minor renovation still going on there, Mr surnadi suggested we take on Villa Pakem which is in the vicinity too.
The area is serene and quiet, bit dark at night if u travelling out of villa. The villa is at Kaliurang , and is a nice small suburb that u can find supermarket and food stall.
My advice is to ask for full day transportation with driver to bring you to any places u like to visit, cos it saves on time to look for taxi and also the driver provided was really good and responsible.
The villa was equipped with all the modern facilities and wifi, what you see in the photo is exactly what you will get there. if u like resort style living, then the deco of villa will be very appealing to you.
We had so much fun there and will want to come back again next time.
Our trip was memorable mainly because we had chosen to stay in villa pakem. -

Cambridge, EnglandFantastic villa away from noise of the city
Left on 06/03/2012 for a stay in October 2011
This is a fantastic villa set in the rural outskirts of the city. Our pick-up and drop-off to and from the airport was excellent. On arrival we were offered the chance of upgrading from the standard room which we had reserved to the Master room overlooking the pool. I would highly recommend the better room as the standard one was very ordinary whereas the Master suite was wonderful with a vast bathroom. The upstairs bedroom would be my second choice as it has great views of Mount Merapi, when not shrouded in cloud.
The mini van service offered was excellent. The driver took us to Borobodur and Prambanan and waited while we visited. He was always on time and the van was clean and comfortable.
The staff at the villa tried to be helpful but their command of English was very poor. It made ordering for lunch and dinner difficult. Breakfast (consisting of Nasi goreng, bread, margarine and jam) was provided (you had to make you own coffee, tea and toast and there was no juice in a country where fruit is grown everywhere) but no other food was cooked in the villa. All other food and drinks had to be fetched from outside. Owing to the language barrier we did not know what food was available or even if there were local restaurants. We did not want to travel the thirty minutes on very busy roads into the city in the evenings as we had been travelling all day and the appeal of the villa to us was the advertised 'dining-in'. Hence we survived on snacks we had brought for lunch and very disappointing take-away dinners which were gladly fetched for us from local stalls. The dining is a real issue which needs to be addressed for non-Indonesian speaking guests. If we had realised the problem in advance we would have asked to stop at a supermarket (Carrefour) near the airport and have stocked up prior to our arrival. Alternatively, perhaps one of the many staff who seemed to spend most of their time giggling and listening to pop music could be trained to cook some basic lunches/dinners.
As another review mentioned the breakfast items of bread, margarine and jam were left out all day and not kept in the fridge. There was only dried milk and the quality of the bread was very poor.
To sum up - the villa is a beautiful place to stay. The mini van service excellent. The staff friendly but in need of more training. More information is needed regarding food available locally and/or someone could provide lunches or dinners. Also, we were upset to see the gorgeous dogs shut up in such small kennels. They should be provided more freedom. -

SingaporePure awesome-ness
Left on 01/31/2012 for a stay in November 2011
We felt right at home the moment we stepped in! With the total no. of rooms in the villa, our entourage of 4 children and 7 adults fit in perfectly! Breakfast served... And best, full board could be arranged upon request of course with a small fee. We all felt sooo comfortable and will definitely stay here again if we're in Jogja.

SGAwesome Family Get Together
Left on 01/25/2012 for a stay in November 2011
The place is awesome, if you need to get away from the hustle and bustle and close to nature as it is located in a remote corner of a village. The vastness of the villa allows the extended family to come together under one roof and best of all we have the whole swimming pool to ourself. As we are travelling in a big group, we have arranged for the proprietor to arrange for a driver to drive us around Jogja. He was a good driver.

SingaporeGreat place, could do with some training for staff
Left on 11/09/2011 for a stay in October 2011
Villa was impressive from the get-go, previous pictures from the net was sorely underwhelming (I recommend getting a professional photographer!)
Aside from the beautiful place there were a few sore points:
Whilst Bambang was very helpful and went out of the way to fulfill our request, there was little initiative by the others to clean our living areas, even leaving our island kitchen abuzz with flies overnight until we woke at 10am and had to instruct them to clean up.
The pool was murky and stung our eyes when we took a dip, we arrived at 1pm and was informed the pool treatment guy could only come at night to ready the pool by tomorrow. After some badgering, Bambang managed to get him down that afternoon. The pool wasn't ready to swim in till the next day still.
It was a bit strange that we could hear sounds of revelry coming from the enclosed courtyard where multiple staff hung out. The 24 hr security n service was appreciated but better soundproofing or quarters for them could be a good idea.
In all, taking into consideration that it wasn't a resort and that yogja hasn't descended into a commercial tourist hub thereby forgiving the service levels, it was a good trip and aside from minor hiccups we were very satisfied with the villa.
Lastly, if you are prone to mosquito bites, come prepared! As the villa is surrounded by fields, mosquitoes are aplenty. -

Seattle, WA USAFantastic Villa Stay outside Yogya
Left on 07/26/2011 for a stay in July 2011
Our family of 6 (2 grandparents, 2 parents, and 2 children ages 9 & 12) stayed at Villa Pakem in July. Although the villa is located about an hour from downtown Yogya, it makes for a wonderful getaway. It was lovely and very comfortable, in a serene, retreat-like setting. The staff were so accommodating, and the rental car service was really good in getting us to the various sites in and around Yogya. I highly recommend it, especially for families or groups of friends traveling together.

Rumbai, Sumatra, IndonesiaAbsolutely Beautiful!
Left on 07/20/2011 for a stay in June 2011
The photos don't do justice to the beauty and tranquility of Villa Pakem. We only stayed 2 nights and wished we had arranged to stay longer. The villa and grounds are absolutely beautiful and tastefully furnished. The house staff are attentive and helpful, though it helps to speak a bit of Bahasa Indonesia since their English is somewhat limited. We had pre-arranged through Villa Pakem to rent a small bus (12 seater) for our stay since there were 7 adults plus luggage. Everything went flawlessly from our arrival at Jogja airport till until we were dropped off again 2 days later. We were able to taylor our sightseeing, meals, and shopping experiences to suit our tastes. All in all a fantastic experience and we hope to visit Villa Pakem again in the near future.

We had a very personal exprience at Villa Pakem. From the moment we were pick up at the airport, the staff were very informative, friendly & helpful. We experience 5 star hotel service from the staff during our stay at the Villa. They manage to arrange and cater to all our itinearies in Jogja. Ensuring us the best use of our time there. The villa was beautifully maintain & well kept. All rooms are beautifully decorated. The Villa has a full kitchen utilities, giving you a choice of own cooking & the staff can arrange meals for you according to your prefence. Also we have a wonderful time at the pool & jacuzzi. The location might be a bit out of town but with the full facilities at the Villa, it more than make up for the distance.
The staff at the villa are great, especially Ms Wulan who ensure we have everything that we need. We really enjoy our stay at this beautiful villa. And we thank all the staff at the villa who makes our stay there comfortable, enjoyable & memorable.

Kuala LumpurGorgeous Luxury Vacation Home with Excellent Service
Left on 05/24/2011 for a stay in May 2011
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Pakem, and would highly recommend it. The house, or really mansion is the more appropriate term, is very comfortable and beautifully decorated. The grounds and gardens were unbelievable. The patios and pool area made it feel so luxurious, topped off by the huge gazebo on the far side of the pool. We would arrive home from a long day of trekking through temples and local markets, and be welcomed by an amazing meal prepared by the staff, and then the garden and pool lights would all be on, with a fire burning in the fireplace in the gazebo. Very luxurious and romantic. The power went out once for a brief time, and there was one small issue with the hot water, but the staff who stay on site were very helpful and had everything working properly in a timely manner. We have very fond memories of our stay at Villa Pakem , and would definitely return.

Left on 04/04/2011 for a stay in December 2010
I've spent a night at the villa with good massage before sleep and wake up freshly. Then opening my eyes to see an amazing view of Merapi Mount from my bedroom window... it was really a great and relaxing feeling to see this amazing panorama direct from your bed... something you can't find from any hotel in yogyakarta.. as you can look it clearly and so close... what a great experience..

Villa Pakem has a beauty and tranquility atmosphere. It takes you to a resort feel environment, away from the hustling and buzzing of the city. The service was good and staff was friendly and accommodating. It is a nice place to stay and relax with family and friends. We enjoyed the private swimming pool surrounded with beautiful and well kept garden. Also one of the bedroom has a view of the rice padi fields and mount Merapi.
I highly recommend Villa Pakem, we'll be staying in this villa again in our next visit to Yogyakarta. -

My family and I enjoyed our stay in this villa. It is like staying at the private resort. The master bedroom with overlooking the swimming pool and jacuzzi is a plus. Also the second biggest room has overlooking the immaculate garden. Also we love having breakfast by the pool side in the morning. Would recommend this villa to couples/family who want a peaceful and comfortable stay in Yogyakarta. We will back again in the next trip to Indonesia.
