We stayed for one night and it cost £120. The lodge was absolutely amazing, the décor was beautiful, the surroundings were tranquil, and we were totally mind blown from the minute we walked through the door.
The bed was luxurious and we both had a lovely stresses sleep.
we used the hot tub twice, the weather was a bit naff but we were hot in the water and loved the rain on our faces.
I have had a really horrible couple of yrs and this one night spur of the moment over night stay made me feel so chilled
Thank you very much still rabbit, we will def be back

My husband booked this lodge for several reasons, my birthday, our wedding anniversary and our first getaway since our first baby was born 8 weeks ago.
From the moment we arrived on site we knew it was going to be nice, but then walking into the actual lodge was breath taking, amazing that's the only word needed to describe it. The lodge was immaculate and the decor was outstanding, so much detail had been put into it truly wonderful!
The view was lovely not overlooked and we had the delight of seeing ducks pass on the grass alot.
The bed was the comfiest bed i have ever stayed in.
We will definitely be booking again either in the 'Beveren' or coming back with friends.
Only thing is i forgot to write how good it was in the guest book.Response from Still Rabbit - 05/21/2013

We have just had a wonderful weekend at Still Rabbit Lodges. We stayed in argente, and on arrival found the lodge to be lovely and warm and spotlessly clean. The furniture and overall condition of the lodge was of very high standard and the bed was oh so comfortable. Could not fault anything, there was everything we could possibly need. Plenty of good quality crockery, pans and cutlery, and the hot tub was fantastic, nice and private.
If you want a peaceful and relaxing break, this is certainly the place to stay. All we heard were the birds singing. The ducks came to visit us each morning for breakfast and a heron came to the pond looking for fish every day.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will certainly be booking another weekend here, loved argente, but would like to try one of the other lodges next time. Can't wait to return.Response from Still Rabbit - 04/19/2013

The location, layout, furniture, everything about this place is spot on. The ideal place for a romantic break. And then there's the hot tub. We just didn't want to come home!
One small criticism, the kitchen area could do with better lighting in the corner. It's a bit too dark to see what you're doing.Response from Still Rabbit - 04/19/2013

Myself and my boyfriend recently stayed in Havana lodge for a 3 night break. We had looked at all of the reviews and photographs before going and were extremely looking forward to the holiday however we were still very pleasantly surprised when we arrived to find that the lodge completely exceeded our high expectations! Everything about the lodge was perfect, from the champagne and chocolates waiting for our arrival (an extra paid for by my boyfriend as a surprise!) to the hot tub which was ready for us to get straight in, never put off by the snow!!
We followed advice and used the park and ride service to go into York. This was really easy and removed the faff of finding parking in the city.
The only thing that we weren't prepared for was that we had hoped to be able to walk to a near by pub for dinner one evening and the nearest small village was a short drive away. This did not in any way effect our stay though as we bought more bubbly and made the most of the hot tub!
Would definitely recommend the lodges to anyone looking for a quiet break and we would love to return in the future.Response from Still Rabbit - 04/19/2013

My husband and I stayed at the Beveren for 2 nights to celebrate our 5th Wedding anniversary, we spent a long time looking on the internet for somewhere special to stay, we were not dissapointed, the minute we walked through the door we knew we had made a perfect choice. The bed is the comfiest bed I have ever slept in, the hot tub was fantastic even with the minus temperatures outside, it was so relaxing. The attention to detail in the lodge was fantastic and was equipt with everything you could possibly need. We will definatly be back.

What an amazing place! I'm a 5 star hotel, nothing less kind of person and wasn't sure about this, as there was some negative reviews before we went (Lodge - Havanna). Not sure where the neg reviews came from, must be people who are never happy with anything. Everything ran smoothly, lodge amazing, hot tub fantastic, you could not ask for a more relaxing, fantastic few days. Wanted to book straight away again for Christmas/New Year, but already fully booked! Hope to get a booking asap! All I can say is go, you will love it ?

Left on 12/17/2012 for a stay in December 2012
My wife has always wanted to stay in a lodge with a private hot tub.and after reading other reviews earlier in the year, we booked a short 3-night stay in the Beveren lodge. We very rarely take breaks in the UK, but due to my undergoing major surgery, we have not been able to go abroad this year.
What a good choice Still Rabbit was. We arrived to find that everything was ready for us and when we opened the door to Beveren, we both said "Wow!" The lodge complied with all the descriptions on the web site and even excelled them. The images of the lodges do not do justice to the size of the rooms (which are extremely spacious and very elegantly furnished) or to the location, which although not far from the main York road could have been in the wilderness.
We picked the 3 coldest days of the year for our break (the temperature dropping to -4C), but the skies were bright blue and the sun shone down reflecting off the thick frost that covered everything. Lazing in the hot tub in the late evening was a bizarre but amazing experience. There was no sense of cold at all and a 20 minute dip at least twice daily was brilliant.
The kitchen area is well equipped with all the utensils you will ever need. The shower room was roomy and nice thick towels were supplied. Tip: take your own towels for the hot tub. The bedroom has to be seen to be believed, containing the biggest four-poster that I have ever seen. If you like a soft bed, then this is the one for you to sink into.
We had planned to visit various places during our stay, but we only went to York and spent the rest of the stay just relaxing.
A wonderful, peaceful experience and one that we will most certainly be repeating.Response from Still Rabbit - 12/27/2012

Hello!
Not many people do realise that a local UK break can be just as relaxing and satisfying as taking a longer holiday abroad so we're very happy to hear that you decided to give it a try!
Your description of the lodge is wonderful and a massive promotion to any potential customers that may be reading this so thank you very much :D
We do hope that you will come back to stay with us at Still Rabbit again, maybe trying out one of the other lodges to see which styling that you like best!

This is a review of the Palomino lodge (4 berth, 2 bedroom lodge)
What a simply fantastic resort for a romantic getaway. I had read all of these reviews prior to booking and to say the lodge and facilities lived up to expectations is an understatement!!
Clear instructions were sent upon confirmation of the booking and entry and access/finding the lodge was straightforward even in the dark. Upon entry to the lodge myself and my partner both stopped in our tracks. The lodge was beautifully decorated, heated, clean, smelt nice, cosy, homely - everything I'd hoped for.
We had a relaxing night with a few drinks and planned to go in the hot tub (what everyone has been raving about) on the second night of our 2-night stay.
Night 2 came around and it was pouring with rain, however we decided to give the hot tub a try anyway - it was one of the most romantic moments of my life and something I would highly recommend!!!
We will definitely be booking here again, for a longer stay next time for sure. Although we didn't have any problems to report to staff, we were met with a friendly welcome from a member of staff who advised us to call should we have any problems at all and to enjoy our stay.
The lodge had everything we needed, and the added extras of rose and petals went down an absolute treat. Gentlemen, it's worth the small cost, trust me!!!
Thank you for a wonderful short break.Response from Still Rabbit - 12/27/2012

Just back from a four night break last weekend, this is the second time at Still Rabbit lodges and once again it was perfect. We stayed in Bouscat this time (Chinchilla last time) and it was just as nice, can't wait to re-book again for next year, I can see myself and my partner becoming regulars! Everything you need within the cabin it's like home from home, clean and tidy just perfect well done to all the staff and the owners, you have done a great job on these lodges. I was very shocked to see a couple of unhappy customers on here and negative reviews, but I suppose you can't please everyone, however I can assure anyone 100% that these lodges are wonderful the pictures do not lie! Stayed for our wedding anniversary last year and stayed in Chinchilla. My wife and I were both amazed with the location and quality of the lodges.
The hot tubs were well maintained and very private. We stayed in and ordered a lovely local curry who delivered within 30 mins.
We found all furnishings to 4 star or above standard with no complaints during our one night stay.
Booking was so simple and every effort was undertaken to make our stay perfect.
Several friends have also visited Stillrabbit and all speak highly of their stay. We cant wait to return as soon as funds allow.

This was a last minute book, visited york for the Day and was planning on staying in york for the night, hotel prices averaging around £70.
We have stopped in previous lodges before and love it so we came across this one on the website. Only a 20min drive from york ideal. £125 to be there from 2pm till 11:30 the next day, all to feel like your at home, no one bugging you just a peacefull relaxing late afternoon, evening and morning!
We sat out at night listening to the owls not something you get to hear very often!!!
Everything you could want was there in the lodge. All so clean and tidy decor was great the bed was sooo comfy i may have to invest in one of those duvets. And to top it off was a hot top lovely especially when its freezing outside. I would advise to take extra towels leave the clean fresh ones they provide you with for the shower.
Absolutely amazing and i would recommend to anyone!! No complaints what so ever.Response from Still Rabbit - 10/26/2012

Hello.
We booked a three night stay at the still rabbit for last week. We stayed in the Havana lodge. We were totally disappointed with our stay. From the moment we came through the door there was a strange smell in there which we just assumed was down to being out in the country. I then walked into the kitchen area which was so unclean. The main work surface in the middle of the kitchen had dust and food stains on it. Also the brown front kitchen units were filthy as were the doors around the handles of the white cupboard. The breakfast chairs were covered with dust too. The first thing I had to do was clean all the surfaces etc down. The floors were also dusty with footprints over them and the glass coffee tables had cup staines on them. The sofa was ripped and smelt awful of some kind of stale cigarette or cigar smoke. The pillows are worn and shabby and it just looks in need of a make over. I ended up spending most of the time watching the tv in the bedroom so I didn't have to endure the smell from the settees.
In the storage cupboard it smelt fusty as a damp mop had been left in there.
We then went into the bedroom to be met with more dust and cobwebs. It was so disappointing. The dust on the dressing table, bed and wardrobe was disgusting. This has not been cleaned in a long time, this wasn't fresh dust. There were cobwebs leading from the light above the bedroom table to the chairs. The bed sheets were clean, thank heavens. Though the black wooden bedstead also had a thick layer of dust on it. I was sneezing and sniffing the whole of the time we stayed there because of the air quality being so poor with the dust mite.
The bathroom was the worse for bad odours. The bathroom itself seemed clean but the smell coming from around the toilet area was awful.
When we returned from a day out the second evening of our stay the smell outside the lodge was putrid. As we looked closer we realized the smell was coming from the cesspit not far from the lodge. That night was very warm so we had to sleep with the window ajar. I was woken during the night because the smell from the outside plus the smell from the bathroom toilet was so awful. I tried to sleep in the living area on the chase lounge but the smell also got stronger in there. We think it may have been coming from the sink. I actually had to put my blanket over my nose to allow me to get any sleep that night.
We weren't even able to use the dishwasher at all as the moment it was opened it smelt awful. I think the only way I could describe the smell was dog mess to be brutally honest. It was disgusting.
The hot tub constantly stayed on forty degrees even though we constantly tried to turn it down. In the end we gave up and only stayed in there thirty minutes as it was much too hot.
The shower was a nightmare to use. No instructions in the bathroom which might have been a big help. I saw customers had asked for instructions to be placed on shower previously but you don't seem to have done anything to meet these requests so far. We eventually found the information folder hidden away in one of the drawers!!
We have stayed at the still rabbit previously and we had the Beveran lodge which was absolutely spotless, decor beautiful and we couldn't have asked for a better stay it was idyllic. We spent hours in the hot tub. For this reason we booked again and this time for three nights as we thought we would experience the same again.
We didn't sign the guestbook because we don't enjoy complaining actually. We do feel justified in these circumstances as the lodge conditions put a big downer on our much needed break. It isn't fair that we paid out that sort of money for the surroundings we had to stay in
The stay cost us three hundred pound and in all honesty it was worth very little in the state it was in. If you are going to charge those kind of prices then those lodges should be immaculate. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone else now, though we did for a long while after returning from our stay the last time.Response from Still Rabbit - 09/15/2012

Hi there,
I just want to say that we did respond to your e-mail within 48 hours, the only reason you had no reply within one day was because I was on my day off. We do take complaints seriously and this is being looked into.
We do have a 100% refund policy if you are unsatisfied on arrival and also a proportionate stay refund policy.
We have staff on site 24 hours a day with branded uniforms and a manned office. There are also telephone numbers available in the lodge. Someone comes to greet everyone in to make sure that customers are happy with their lodge. This is done on the evening of arrival or the day after if arriving late. If you had only let us know through any form of communication that there was something wrong, we would have provided the solution to fix any issues.
We don’t usually receive bad reviews and there have been good reviews in the lodge from those in prior to and after your stay.
All of our staff have been sent round to the lodge to try to identify the smells that you spoke of, however none of these 5 noticed any smells. Again, if only you had let us know on the day we would have been around right away to identify and fix it.
We do try hard to satisfy all of our customers and we are very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us.
I hope any potential customer reading this will read our other reviews and won’t be put off experiencing our great service and luxury lodges.
Kind Regards,
Sophie

We had an excellent 4 night stay in the Bouscat lodge in the middle of July. The lodge is beautiful and the view from the balcony is lovely. We seen foxes, rabbits and ducks in and around the little pond that runs the length of the 6 lodges.
The kitchen is well stocked and has everything in it that you could ever need. Every room is tastefully decorated and the bed is very comfortable. We enjoyed a lovely holiday break here and ventured out to York and Flamingo land during our visit. The Park and Ride should definitely be used to get into York and is very easy to get to and the bus transfer time is fast. Flamingo Land is great and we really enjoyed the zoo that is there.
Obviously, the big draw to this place was the hot tub which was incredible. We spent around 6 hours in it on the first night being such a novelty! Even when it was raining we stayed in it as it is so warm. It does take a bit of fiddling about to get used to at first but it is not too difficult to work out to get it working and control the temperature.
All in all was very impressed with the place and no doubt will be back in the future especially as on the last night, my boyfriend proposed and we are now engaged!Response from Still Rabbit - 09/23/2012

The guest book in our lodge showed a previous holidaymaker noting they couldn't sleep (in Havanah lodge) because the hot tub was so loud and right outside their bedroom - they turned the tub off on the second night just to get some sleep - but someone came round and turned it back on early morning and woke them up. The response written in the guest book that the hot tub must be on at all times totally ignored that these poor guest weren't able to sleep - you expect at least to get a good nights sleep.
I had a similar experience of not being able to relax fully because of such details.
I arrived at 2pm - this time was arranged and agreed the day before - there was no-one around, and the board they display with names and lodges didn't have our name on. I waited and still no-one arrived/the board wasn't updated. (they do supply a mobile number for contact but we arrived at the expected time and i didn't expect to have to chase around for someone, also didn't have a phone signal) I went to the lodge to find it open but again nothing to suggest they were expecting us, or this was our lodge.
It wasn't a good start/welcome. At the very least the board should be updated with your lodge & name to confirm they are expecting you.
Checkout was equally disappointing, at 9am someone came round and emptied the hot tub...there are no doors between the public car park/walking area and the tub so he was able to walk directly in without asking or telling us he was there, not ideal when the door leads directly into the bedroom. (previous guests have comments & requested a door but it's not been addressed) When I said we didn't check out till 10 - I was told it's done at 9am regardless. I feel they should wait the hour till your gone, or at the very least you should be notified you won't have tub access/will have people right outside your bedroom door/window.
(Other details missed included, no instructions for a very complicated shower/sauna/steam combo, we couldn't work out how to get the temp low enough to shower comfortably - The hot tub itself was missing three of the four headrest, leaning on hard plastic detracted from comfort)
It's a great place but these details mean what should be 100% relaxation is more like 90% Annoying when they are so easily addressed..Response from Still Rabbit - 08/23/2012

Thank you for your review and for your four stars regardless of these issues.
These will be addressed with the staff at Still Rabbit.
The lodges are self-catering so generally customers do go straight to their lodge on arrival with someone coming round to check on you once you are settled in. However the boards for arrivals are usually updated everyday once the lodges have been cleaned and are awaiting arrival so I can only apologise that this did not happen for you.
You are correct to have queried the hot tub being emptied before 10 as this is not what we have asked staff here to do. This will be brought to their attention immediately and we will ensure that this no longer happens.
With regard to the noise from the hot tub we do have some lodges where it is accessed from the living area where the filtering noise will not be heard, but if this process does not happen and the hot tubs aren't checked in the morning they may not be in a suitable condition for you to use them during the day time.
The instructions and headrests issue will be looked into asap.
Kind Regards,
Sophie

What can I say? This site is fantastic!! We had Beveren lodge for a week & both my wife & myself would rate this as possibly the best holiday we've ever had! All 6 lodges are perfect & the lodge we stayed in (Beveren) had everything we could possibly want. Big tv in the lounge, smaller tv in the bedroom, both with DVD players. All facilities in the kitchen. Massive four poster bed and couch in the bedroom and still with loads of room!
However, the piece de la resistance? The hot tub!! Wow wow wow! Spent all week in it off and on, really really private and secluded, didn't feel overlooked at all. Were'nt bothered at all by anyone else. Maitenance man came round soon after we arrived and advised us on anything we needed to know and then we were left alone for the week.
We loved our stay so much that we've booked up for later in the year as soon as we came home! We can't wait.
Couple of tips. Use the park n ride at York Outlet. Loads of free parking and it costs £5 return for 2 people. Take a couple of spare towels, you get 1 each but if you're in and out of the tub all the time you could do with dry 1's.
Above all relax!!! Trust me, Still Rabbit makes trhis so easy.Response from Still Rabbit - 08/23/2012

Booked two nights at the still rabbit for our 2nd anniversary!! We both lead hectic lives and wanted somewhere to relax and enjoy some peace and quiet!! This was exactly what we needed!! The hot tub was amazing and extremely clean!! The bed was the biggest and most comfortable we've slept in!! It's in such a lovely area, surrounded by some beautiful country villages. It's also a short drive from the York outlet where you can park and ride into York!! An amazing experience that we would love to do again!! Highly reccomend.

Myself and my Husband stayed in the Havana lodge and in my opinion the best one as it was the last in a row of six lodges. All far enough apart for them to be private and all facing a gentle stream/river with nothing but countryside to view. We had a Heron meandering past with a kind of geese and family to add to the whole beautiful scenario. The lodges are all individually decorated and Havana was decorated superbly with lush comfortable bedding, all very clean and tidy with everything you needed in the kitchen. The shower room was once again outstanding with a circular shower with radio installed!!! The hot tub was very clean and well maintained however I would like to see a step to aid getting in and out as I'm not very tall and did struggle a tad but hey if that's my only moan.!! York is well worth a visit, wear comfortable shoes as the cobbled pavements can be a mare under foot. Can I advise that you use the park and ride dotted around the outskirts of York as it cost us £2.50 pp to park all day which includes your return bus fare! whereas I saw in the center of York a parked car that had paid nearly £18 to park for approx 8 hours!!! parking in the center on average will cost you £2.20 per hour with no reduced rate the longer you stay.
Getting back to the lodge Paula came and introduced herself to us on arrival and after that we were left alone but there was contact numbers etc if needed which we didn't. We really thought that these lodges were too good to be true as they were great value for money, but they are truly an absolute gem of a find stunning totally stunning. Will certainly go back for shear peace and comfort and oh the Hot Tub!!Response from Still Rabbit - 08/20/2012

cambsamazing, perfect romantic getaway

For our wedding anniversary me and hubby wanted somewhere peaceful and romantic. Well this place was perfect, adult only site, only 6 lodges so no one around. The owner came on the day we checked in and made sure everything was ok and then left us to it which was ideal.
Great location, not far from York. We used the Park & Ride at Macarthur Glen Shopping Outlet to go into York. The facilities in the lodge were ideal for a weekend away, a dishwasher, enough kitchen appliances if you wanted to cook, we didn't! We visited the next village for a takeaway of which there was a few to choose from. The hot tub was amazing and to top it all off we had the most amazing weather, 27 degrees on the 1st October.
Perfect. Would definitely recommend these lodges for that perfect romantic break for 2!
