Comfortable family cottages, self contained so you really dont need to bring anything except your food.
Kids loved feeding the animals and being involved, given jobs etc.
The hosts are very welcoming and accomodating.
I would recommend Lavendale Farm to families especially if you have young children. -

Lavendale Farm was a peaceful place, Farmer Merv and Farmer Katherine were very welcoming and inviting, on arrival the cottage had fresh bread and fresh eggs, we stayed in the "Valencia Villa" lovely accomodation, comforatable beds and living area, the log fires warmed the cottage quickly and it was toasty warm all nite. The animals were cute, the kids loved feeding time, collecting the eggs also, we will definitely be back, maybe trying one of the other cottages.

Booked this 4 night stay for my sons 7th birthday. Was a great getaway, relaxing for me and the kids. Boys made themselves busy with the animals, or the play area, or the games room or just read books with me in the really peaceful surroundings.
Feeding time was great and we all got into it. Rewarded daily with an egg each from the chickens. Pigs were very entertaining as were all the other animals, especially BB the crazy ostrich!
Made me want to live in the country, well maybe start off with a few chickens!
Hosts Farmer Merv and Farmer Katherine were really welcoming and great with the kids.
Cottages were very clean with all facilities we could need including a cosy log fire. Stars in the sky at night amazing out there!
Hope to be back! -

SingaporeAn enjoyable stay

We have 8 of us with 2 kids, Katherine recommended "The Lodge" which suits us perfectly. It is very clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. Kids liked the hammocks very much too.
The animal feeding was definitely the highlight, all of us(yes, including us, adults) enjoyed it, after living in the city for so long, it was great to see and know more about the animals.
We also enjoyed the home-made bread prepared by Katherine, as well as their hospitality and friendliness.
We felt lucky to have the York overnight stay at Lavendale Farm, it turned out to be our most memorable night in the Wa trip. -

Our overnight stay was so enjoyable and Katherine and Merve such excellent hosts that we came back with all our family and stayed the weekend in 2 of the unique houses , Valencia and aussie Bush.
Thank you both for making our stay fantastic for both young and old alike. Both my niece and nephew loved the animal feeding times
