      everything you need

Left on 01/03/2012 for a stay in December 2011

Lovely three storey town house, in an excellent location. Near by are lovely specialist shops, easy walking distance to York center and museum area. House very well equipped, tidy, modern and clean. Would recommend for a large family but very easily able to accommodate families having a break together. Would love to stay again.

      good location for holidays

Left on 09/25/2011 for a stay in September 2011

House was in good central location easy walking distance to all tourist areas
Rooms were small than expected especially the lounge if there was 10 !!!
Nice to have outside space and balcony - pity it wasnt well swept
Bathrooms on each level - top only has a bath, middle shower was poor and the ground floor was fitted under the stairs and needed the tiling regrouted or deep cleaned
Towels were of good standard but only one large and one small per person per stay
Kitchen had plenty cutlery and dishes - a wee bit more cleaning in the cupboards/drawers required but I am very fussy
Bedrooms were nicely furnished - no complaints

      Good option for large groups

Left on 08/12/2011 for a stay in March 2011

We stayed here for a (civilised) hen weekend. Parking is pretty tight, we just about managed to fit 3 cars outside. It's a little bit of a walk into town, but manageable. The house is well decorated and maintained with reasonable sized rooms.

      Great central accommodation

Left on 11/02/2010 for a stay in October 2010

We found this property through advice from someone on Trip advisor when everything else seemed to be booked up (it was half term!) Its always difficult to get accommodation with enough bedrooms as we all like our own rooms but this one fitted the bill. The property was as described in the information sent to us and we could see what to expect by looking on the excellent website which gives 360 degree views of most of the rooms. When we arrived I personally found the rooms smaller than I had expected and if it was full to capacity(sleeps 10) it would have been a bit crowded in my opinion but with just the 5 of us there was plenty room for our 3 night stay. The housekeeper allowed us to leave our cases when we arrived as we got in before the 4pm start time so we were then able to head off into the town which was an easy 10 minute stroll over the river and through the park. The front of the house is by a busy road which is used day and night but I come from a very quiet town so I suppose I would hear anything noisy! The area however is made up of similar residential properties and there is no traffic to the back of the house which is where the entrance, parking and small courtyard with outdoor chairs is located. Unfortunately a lot of the TVs did not work so we had to use the one in the kitchen which had a decent picture but the one in the lounge, downstairs bedroom and one on the top floor had little or no picture, which was a shame as we had planned a Strictly Come Dancing evening as we are all fans of the programme! That was a minor inconvenience though and one that I hope they will sort before our next visit because we are planning to return. The house was clean and well kept although showing signs of wear and tear which is usual in a rental property and on the whole we had no real problems or complaints. The shower room on the ground floor is tiny but useable although you would need to be a small person to use the wash hand basin to clean your teeth! The shower room on the second floor is bigger and there is a bathroom on the top floor which does not have a shower. The bedding was clean, the towels were of good quality and there was plenty of cutlery, dishes and glasses for our needs. There is also a dishwasher and washing machine, which is very handy and there were dishwasher tablets provided as well as tea bags, some sugar, a little coffee and a complimentary bottle of wine, though bin bags were in very short supply! The welcome pack could have been a bit better considering the price of the property, but it was easy to walk to M & S or Tesco and buy what we needed. I would say this is a very nice property in a great central location and would be happy to recommend it.
