Very quiet, secure, accommodation yet right in the center of the city. Close to York station for those who want to leave their car at home (private parking for those who don't).

Very quiet, secure, accommodation yet right in the center of the city. Five minutes from York railway station: 2 hours by train to London and 2½ to Edinburgh.
The property is in a small news development right in the center of York. Entrance is via Blake Street. Access to the city walls is nearby.
The Blake Mews development was renovated in 2007 and a winner of the York Design Awards in 2008.

Tucked away in the heart of York and only a short walk from museums, the Minster, and the Shambles, Blake Mews is the perfect location for a luxury long weekend away. We didn't get into the car for 3 days - bliss.The facilities are extremely well thought through with every possible need catered for and the accommodation is modern and very comfortable. The children loved the double bunk bed room complete with twinkling ceiling lights; I loved the spectacular view of the Minster from the master bedroom window.
Our holiday was made all the more straight forward by the helpful and pleasant service of the The Property Manager
I can not recommend Blake Mews highly enough - a truly wonderful experience. Ideal for couples or families. -

Blake Mews provided a serene,luxury home base for a long weekend in York. While the home is smack-dab in the middle of the hustle and bustle of York, once you enter its private gates you'd never know there's a busy city surrounding you. This very upscale home lacks for nothing. Tons of light, modern yet comfortable furnishings, every need has been anticipated and addressed. Private garage, washer/dryer, luxury linens, and the best-of-the best audio and video capabilities and equipment would satisfy the most demanding of guests. High-end kitchen features, appliances, and equipment were a cook's delight. Guests should be comfortable with stairs, as the house has a vertical layout.
My very favorite part was the stunning view of the Cathedral, which appears larger than life from the master bedroom's large windows. The house manager was readily available and handled any request quickly and efficiently. I cannot wait to return to York, partially because it's a quaint, entertaining town with tons of history, but mostly because I dream of another luxury getaway to Blake Mews. -

York is a great city and the historic walled city remains. The accommodations were in the heart of the old walled city, a modern
updated townhouse on a historic mew. About a block away is a historic
cathedral that is the largest in northern England and was completed
around 1400 after 200 years of work. we went there every evening for evening song at 5 pm. The songs were sung by a boys and girls
choir and took about 40 minutes - a great way to end the day. The location is great to see the historic city, walk of the walls of the walled
city, etc.. Numerous good restaurants are within a 5 minute walk. The surrounding country side is fantastic, and the highlight was Castle Howard where "Brideshead Revisited" was filmed.
