Blyth, United KingdomHome from home in a wonderful location
Left on 09/18/2011 for a stay in August 2011
From the moment we arrived, Croft House exceeded all our expectations.
A wonderful location with lovely views across the Dale and a warm welcome from the owners accompanied by a much appreciated 'Welcome Pack' that included wine!
All the small attention to detail and the personal effects around the cottage made our 'family and friends' stay perfect.
Particularly the log fire in the evenings gave a feeling of being 'at home'.
The small but functional kitchen even enabled a substantial 3 course meal for 8 to be provided. We travelled to Tesco at Skipton (20 miles?) to stock up for the week but the Kings Head at Kettlewell offered good pub food on cooks nights off.
Three 'must do' things at Croft House: 1.Have your breakfast in the garden. 2.Pace yourself allowing 2/3 hours to slowly climb (walking pole provided) and appreciate the fabulous views from the ridge opposite and 3. Have a log fire in an evening.
Enjoy!
We will be back. -

WakefieldBeautiful cottage in perfect location
Left on 05/09/2011 for a stay in April 2011
We were welcomed at the cottage by the owners and shown all the features. The cottage had lots of games for the children (even a keyboard) and we immediately felt at home. The garden is lovely and we saw a huge variety of birds. The cottage is located at the start of many walks but not near many shops so it would be wise to order a Tesco delivery as the owners suggest. We had a really restful happy stay and hope to return.

My husband and I have stayed in many cottages over the years in the Yorkshire Dales. Croft House is by far the best cottage we have stayed in, therefore we have booked it again. We both feel that we do not want to stay anywhere else in the Dales and will choose Croft House again and again for future holidays. It is extremely clean and well cared for by the owners who have thought of everything to make this an outstanding holiday cottage.

This was the first time to Yorkshire and we were not dissapointed. The pubs, Walks, scenery every thing was perfect even the weather! I would recommend a trip to Brinham Rocks, we may have Stonehenge but this place was something else!
Thank you for a beautiful stay. We loved the cottage, very comfy and had everything we needed. The tea, milk, bread wine etc was a lovely welcome pack, We will be back this time with my mum and my two neices we will be back to book. -

LeedsCroft House is my favourite weekend retreat
Left on 02/22/2011 for a stay in December 2010
We have stayed at Croft House many times now & the facilities just get better & better. The new wet room is a dream especially with the new heated floor. We particularly like the peace & tranquility of the area - perfect for walks. We have stayed there in winter & summer & are always impressed with the beauty of the area. Leyburn is one of our particular favourite places to visit, we just love the old fashioned shops in the square

The owners greeted us on arrival day and could not have been more helpful. They have used the property themselves for a number of years and because of this the whole place has a more homely ambience to it. It really is like a home form home. The bedrooms were very comfortable and I know that ground floor showering facilities have been upgraded since our stay which will only improve what was a really positive and relaxing experience. My mam and dad have booked to go in May 2011, on my recommendation ! which is unhead of !! Kitchen is quite small but well equipped and the utility area is a little disorganised but that really is nit picking. Living area is very cosy with an wood burning stove which is always very delicious and atmospheric. Go...and enjoy. Extremely pleasant accomodation, lovely people, beautiful area...and the sun shined !

ShildonLovely cottage - wonderful holiday.
Left on 02/21/2011 for a stay in December 2010
Stayed in the cottage during very cold weather - scenery beautiful with crisp snow and bright blue skies. Cottage very comfortable and just like home. Everything we could have wanted. Plenty of space when family and friends joined us for a couple of days but when just 2 still felt cozy. Beautiful lounge with smashing open fire. Loved the woodpecker who came everyday for breakfast on the bird feeder outside the window. Have given details of the cottage to friends and family. Would love to visit agin.
