BRAND NEW CUSTOM HOME built in the Arts and Craft tradition. The house and decor echoes with a craftsmanship wood interior, best quality and tasteful design which has withstood the test of time. Tucked away in one of the world’s natural wonders, the Ahwahnichi Lodge was built with the character and craftsmanship of the 1920’s-1930’s. Every detail... from the 6 windowed dining room to the arts and crafts lighting provides the finer points from this vintage era. The house echoes with the confidence of quality and tasteful design which has withstood the test of time. From the Main entry, there is a windowseat nook allowing a view of the woods or place to read a good book. In the vaulted living room, a cheery fireplace lights the comfortable decor which connects to the wood-floored dining room. The wooden cabinetry and leaded doors tell of an era dedicated to tasteful wood trim and skilled detail. The flow through kitchen has countertops selected to resemble the speckled granite so common in Yosemite. The kitchen comes fully equipped with mircrowave, dishwasher, clothes washer and drying facilities and other amenities allowing dining on the adjoining deck or inside in the distinctive window alcove.

Downstairs, is the family room with another fireplace, two bedrooms and an adjacent patio. Each bedroom has a three window alcove and a rounded windowseat; perfect for viewing the resplendent outdoors. The family room is ready for jigsawpuzzlers or games by the fire and includes a mini-bar for that late night snack of s’mores. Fabrics in the house interweave the Indian, Asian and Arts and Crafts themes popular in Yosemite during that era.

There are two and 1/2 bathrooms, one on each floor, tiled with an Indian theme and arts and craft wood shelving. Upstairs is the romantic master bedroom hideaway with its vintage Morris chair and warm glow of art glass lanterns. The Master bedroom has its own nook for reading, as well as its own deck, to catch a vista view of the sunset peeking through the sugar pines and spruce trees. With its refined, clean lines, this house is a place to treasure Yosemite. Built to the “craftsman” look of a time past, this cabin reflects an era when we had time to think, walk in the woods or be with the people that we care about.   We just returned from a trip to Yosemite for the first time. Unbelievable scenery and we were so lucky to find Scenic Wonders Rental Homes! We had a beautiful rental with all we needed for a wonderful few days - gas grill, fireplace, well equipped kitchen, large porch overlooking the mountains, and all for less cost than most of the hotels in the park! Also, Eddie, at the check in office was GREAT - with info, maps, and anything we needed help with!
  Would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a great place to stay at a great value! They have places of all sizes for whatever your needs are.

  FANTASTICA SCELTA

  Dopo un'attenta ricerca su dove soggiornare allo Yosemity NP ho constatato che dormire nella valle era un'impresa impossibile: lodge stracolmi già a febbraio, campeggi disponibili - ma in caso di pioggia?. Miracolosamente, cercando e cercando, ho trovato il sito di Scenic Wonders e la prima cosa che mi ha colpito è stata la bellezza delle case proposte, la disponibilità - ne ho trovate parecchie libere per 8 persone - e la comodità per visitare il parco. Per quanto riguarda i pagamenti tutto si è svolto tranquillamente, mi hanno subito mandato per posta una lettera con depliants, piantine ecc. Al nostro arrivo in questa area all'interno del parco a circa 20 minuti di macchina dall'entrata sud, siamo rimasti tutti colpiti dalla effettiva bellezza della casa e del posto in cui era immersa. Si ratta di case/ville di privati, tutte con architetture bellissime, di legno e a più piani, molto distanziate l'una dall'altra e raggiungibili dalla straada del parco facendo una piccola deviazione di cinque minuti. Il soggiorno è stato meraviglioso, la casa comodissima e attrezzata, avevamo anche un bellissimo terrazzo che dava sul bosco dove poter mangiare.. Siamo anche rimasti colpiti dal fatto che quando siamo arrivati - erano circa le 9.30 di sera, ci hanno laciato le chiavi dentro una busta appese fuori dall'ufficio centrale e quando siamo ripartiti abbiamo gettato le chiavi dentro una cassettina. Per dire della tranquillità del posto. Consiglio vivamente di andare in una di queste case e di rimanerci parecchio per assaporare pienamente la bellezza del posto.

  Most comfortable way to enjoy the park

  We stayed in Edelweiss, a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house. There are houses managed by at least 3 companies in this area so you have many choices and from driving around it looks like they vary greatly in age and upkeep. Edelweiss is not one of the newer houses but it is clean, comfortable, and homey. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. The view from the balcony/deck is of a forrested overlook. I think this house has one of the better views. The only drawback is that it is fairly far from the main Yosemite road. Oh, and there is no aC. This is apparently par for the course in Yosemite but in august that can be a problem. It was in the mid-90's and sweltering in the house when we arrived. Fortunately, the temperature drops quite a bit at night. To the extent possible, buy your groceries before you get to the park. The closest store in the park is a 1/2 hour drive and it is overpriced. Fyi: the house provides TP, paper towels, and soap so no need to buy them.

  What a wonderful surprise to step into the bathroom and feel the warmth of heated floors on a brisk Yosemite morning. Heated floors! Yes! This house was over the top in every way imaginable. The pictures don't do the property justice; you really must stay at the house to enjoy all of it's wonderful amenities. The appliances, furnishings, bedding, etc are all top of the line ... and the heated bathroom floors were the icing on the cake. I highly recommend you visit the castle soon. You won't find a better rental anywhere.
