Description from the owner
In a familiar and multilingual atmosphere we rent our apartment on the virgin island of Dugi otok, near to the town of Zadar.
The house is at the sea border.
In the garden at the sea border there is a grill and coffee bar. Every evening we prepare fresh fish or meat on grill.
A good furnished food market is situated behind the house.
We organize big game fishing and several excursions like the one to the Marine park of Kornati. We hire boats.
We offer a free taxi servise to our apartments.

Gorgonia is a very clean apartment hotel for a vacation at a reasonable price. The interior is not luxury but one has everything that is necessary for a nice quiet holiday. A car or bicyle is mandatory to get to the beaches around Verunic. There is a small market also equipped with essentials.
Miriam an Gianni who run the hotel are very polite and help their guest with plenty of advice to have a great time. -

Siamo arrivati e ci è sembrato subito un paradiso. La Famiglia Tonc ci ha accolti in modo molto cordiale ed efficientissimo. L'isola è fantastica, molto tranquilla e molto accogliente. Sogno ancora quel bellissimo mare che ormai non vedo da due anni, un oasi in Europa. E' un posto da visitare assolutamente.

Croatia is such a beautiful country, we were totally blown away. The time we have spent at Gorgonia on the island of Dugi Otok was amazing. We have travelled from London and we were a bit worried that we might get some difficulties cause we have not rented a car, but the journey from Split to Zadar and from Zadar to Dugi Otok was very pleasent and nice. Once we have arrived to Gorgonia it was all very nice. The food, The Sakarun beach and the sea infront of Gorgonia was great! We had the perfect holiday and we are looking forward to go back next year. Miriam, Gianni and Marco, thank you very much for the great time!

Sono gia' stata in questa struttura, ma la novita' sorprendente e' stata l'apertura del Grill in riva al mare. La cortesia e disponibilita' dei gestori avevo gia' avuto modo di sperimentarla, invece la cucina e i piatti che abbiamo gustato sono stati una deliziosa sorpresa! Ottimo cibo e splendida location!

I arrived here with a friend and we were pleased with the rooms we had, they were clean and had everything we needed.
We had a great time, the only thing I think that isn't made clear though is that it is pretty important to have a rental car. There are only 2 buses a day to the Gorgonia, and even then it's a walk. There are no taxis on the island. You also need a car to see anything on the island.
We were also led to believe from the website that excursians were available, for example to the Cornatti Islands, national park. But they do not organise them, and there is no way of getting to the boat on the other side of the island unless you have a car, so that was very disappointing, as doing these excursions was the main reason we came to this island. Without a car you are basically trapped at the apartment and there aren't any shops except the apartment shop, or very little else to do.
The nearest beach is about 25-30 mins walk away and it is beautiful.
If you want to eat at the restaurant in the evening, you need to inform the hosts by 10am in the morning. A bit of a nuisance if we weren't out of bed or often we simply hadn't decided what we were doing so early in the morning!
The hosts are very friendly. I would only recommend this holiday rental to someone with a car, and I wish they had made that clear as they don't offer the excursions they say they do. Just the fishing I think. They also only accept payment in cash (euros) which, not being in the euro zone, meant we had to change both Euros and Kuna.
Overall a pleasant stay though. -

We are a young couple from Italy and we rent a flat for 4 nights at Gorgonia June 2012, we where looking for a quite place where to spend some time relaxing and just beaching around; this location was perfect since it is located in a small and not busy bay in norh of Dugi Otok where you can stroll around sand or cliff beaches in full immersion into nature, turquese and clean water out of the busy touristic places. Apartments have all what you need for your stay and if you need something, the owners are at disposal to help you; near the apartment there is a small supermarket and couple of restaurants and in 1 hour by car you can drive south of the isle and visit Kornati natural park, this is a must!

Die lage war wunderschön auch die ausstattung vom haus, wir würden sehr gerne noch einmal kommen schade das der urlaub so kurz wahr. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt da die gast familie sehr freundlich und nett war. kurz gesagt einfach unbeschreiblich schön. :-) empfehlenswert

tre anni fa...decidiamo con la squadra di vecchi pescatori la scelta di un nuovo itinerario di pesca.La scelta cade su dugj otok.Vado su internet e trovo verunic,telefono e solo con la voce mi .innamoro...Arriviamo in quattro pescatori e dopo 23 anni di ricerca girando tutta italia e non solo troviamo il paradiso.Ma la cosa più bella sono le persone che ci hanno accolto...la prima sera a cena a casa loro Mario e Gianni e poi a bolentino di notte stupendo.Da quella prima notte sono passati 3 anni.Ogni anno aspetti novembre per rivedere delle persone super e trovarsi a pescare un pesce serio assieme al mitico Mario con la sua grande 500 cavalli e il giorno dopo con il genero Gianni con il suo gommone 650 e quest'anno finalmente abbiamo conosciuto Miriam la moglie di Gianni e figlia di Mario e lui unico Marko un bambino che se non lo conosci Ti sei perso molto della vita. Novembre 2011 splendido il posto ..la casa, la zona griglia con le grandi firme sui Vini e sui Pesci cucinati e per finire Grazie a Mario Gianni Miriam super Marko .Per tutti i pescatori e non solo, pochi consigli... simpatia educazione e pulizia dove andate a pescare... un grande bacio a tutti ci vediamo nel 2012

We had a wonderful time at Gorgonia. The owners, Myriam and Gianni, are very nice persons, who want to share their experience of Dugi Otok, make us enjoy our stay in this fantastic surrounding as much as possible, help us organize our days with trekking, excursions, discoveries, sharing their way of living. Gianni has imagined a small market to help with the basic furniture for cooking and living in the apartment, which is very helpful when living on an island. As for foor, fish is the main dish there, and ... it is great!
The apartments are very clean, very nice and so nicely situated, a few feet from an extraordinary bay full of nice fishing boats and a peaceful surrounding. We really had a great time. Thank you! -

It was my first time in Croatia and I had an excellent time!
Dugi otok is an island 1 hour away from Zadar and it's like heaven on earth! Beautiful sandy beaches, clear sea and tremendous surroundings.
Miriam and Gianni are absolutely fantastic! The flat we stayed in was perfectly clean and comfortable with a balcony and a great sea view.
The handy market next to the flat allows you to buy everything you need whenever you want to.
Gianni and Miriam gave us all the information we needed, lent us bikes to cycle around the island, cooked for us and let us try the local liqueurs!
It was a great holiday and I warmly recommend to go there as soon as you can! -

We very much enjoyed our three weeks relaxing in the world of adriatic Islands with Miriam and Gianni. Clean sea, sandy and rocky beaches, good fishing, diving and cycling. Great hospitality of the house owners. Clean house, good service, situated directly at the sesaside, daily food supplies in houseowned store. Regular Car Ferry Service. Lovely walks to the Lighthouse of Veli Rat, especially for Sunset. Don't forget to take along a sundowner for magic moments. We will certainly return this year.

It is a nice place to calm down and go for fishing, if you like it.
We enjoyed freshly and nicely grilled big fishes (catch of the day)!!!
The nature is beautiful, the rooms are clean and the owners are very friendly.
There is a little shop downstairs, where you can buy nearly everything. Especially fresh bread in the morning and also ice cream. -

Abbiamo conosciuto Gorgonia apartment su Internet e le nostre aspettative sono state ampiamente soddisfatte. La casa è sul mare, in un luogo molto tranquillo ma non solitario e la strada per raggiungerla non è trafficata. L'appartamento è ampio, silenzioso, molto pulito e con letti comodi anche per chi, come noi, ha qualche chilo in più. Gianni e Miriam, i proprietari, sono molto gentili, non invadenti e sempre disponibili sia per risolvere i problemi che per consigliare i luoghi da visitare. E' come essere a casa di amici.

The island of Dugi otok is really one of the most beautiful islands in the adriatic Sea. It is not famous as the bigger
southern islands and that is the reason why it is still so peaceful and with unspoiled nature. Surrounded by clear sea it has lovely beaches which are rarely crowded and offer many places to spend days enjoying the water and the sunshine. Staying in Gorgonia makes you wanna come back every time you have a chance to take a break from the job and the city. The owners are friendly and hospitable and will make your stay pleasant and without worries. They know everything about this beautiful island and will help you to discover all the nice and interesting places. There is very little traffic on the island, especially outside peak season so it's perfect for biking and walking around many trails and on the coast. One who appreciates mother nature will surely want to keep returning and praising :-) -

Appartements Gorgonia liegen im kleinen Ort Verunic auf Dugi Otok. Dugi Otok ist eine wundersch?ne, sehr ruhige Insel. Man muss echt erw?hnen, dass die Strassen auf der Insel sehr gut sind.
Das Haus liegt direkt am Meer, allerdings w?rden wir pers?nlich da nicht so gerne zum Baden gehen (viele Schiffe, kein Strand). Wir sind immer nach Veli Rat zum Leuchtturm zu den traumhaften Kiesbuchten gefahren. Ruhe pur und das im august , glasklares Wasser (ca. 10 - 15 Min. Fahrt). Der sch?ne Saharun Strand ist nur ein paar Minuten entfernt.
In Verunic gibt es 2 Restaurants, die recht gut sind. Die auswahl an Restaurants ist eher klein, im S?den im Ort Sali gibt es mehrere gute Restaurants, allerdings ist man bis dahin gut 40 Min. unterwegs.
Die Zimmer waren f?r 4 Personen f?r einen Urlaub schon gro? genug. Die K?chenzeile ist eher klein, auch der Balkon ist nicht riesig, aber auf jeden Fall ausreichend. Die Vermieter sind sehr nette Leute , die immer und ?berall gerne helfen! In den Zimmern ist eine Klimaanlage vorhanden, die f?r 5 ? pro Tag gemietet werden k?nnte. Das Preis-Leistungsverh?ltnis passt auf jeden Fall!
Es werden auch ausfl?ge (Kornaten) angeboten - das angebot hatten wir aber nicht genutzt. Empfehlenswert ist der Naturpark Telascica - allerdings erst am sp?teren Nachmittag dort sein (gegen 16.00 Uhr) da sind n?mlich alle ausflugsboote weg und man hat den Park fast f?r sich :)

As soon as we reached the island we dicovered the magic beauty of that place: beautiful see, nice people, good food, untouched nature and an unforgettable sunset.
When we arrived at "Gorgonia apartment" we got welcomed by Gianni and his sweet wife, Miriam. The apartment was just what we were looking for. We were a little bit worried about the cleanliness that we would have met, but we found it perfect. The residence also has a mini-market inside and offers a range of excursions around the Kornati Islands.
It was one of the most enjoyable and relaxinf holidays of my life! -

A very nice appartmenthouse, directly near the sea. Some beautiful beaches are 2-10 minutes away, if you go by car.
An absolut highlight is the national park of "Kornati". The host can organice trips to this national park, and also big game fishing. In September we were there for the 10 th time since 2004, and it was surely not the last time. -

With my spouse we were looking for a relaxing holiday on the seaside and we choose the Zadar region based on past experiences. Gorgonia came after friends indication and by choosing it we got much more: we spent a couple of peaceful weeks in a sense of light, nature and space around, out of any stress and enjoying magic landscapes.
We have been hosted in a cosy environment by Miriam and Gianni, friendly, attentive, available and never intrusive. The feeling was to be at home, meaning also one you would like to have:)
The other guests helped in enjoying an environment with no commitments but the pleasure to stay with if desired.
The surroundings are gorgeous (do not miss Sakarun beach!!!) and after getting used to silence, nature sounds and tasty white fish the biggest pain you can imagine comes, when it's time to go back... we will definitely get there again.
