THE MAIN SQUARE APARTMENT is situated in a perfect location, RIGHT on the main Zagreb square, 3 Ban Jelacic square. Comfortable, newly redecorated, air-conditioned, fully equipped and furnished apartment consists of an airy and sunny living room with two comfortable sofa beds, a quiet bedroom with a double bed and plenty of closet space, a kitchen, a dining room, a hall with more closet space and a bathroom.
The apartment is on the first floor, with just a few stairs to climb, and there is also an elevator. The building itself is beautiful, of historical importance, with marble entrance walls and floors, very well mantained.

Main square apartment is a comfortable apartment in a central location. The market which sells a wide range of delicious food is just outside the front door so perfect for self catering.The owner was friendly and helpful and has provided everything anyone could need for a comfortable stay. There is wifi, tv, comfortable sofas, well equipped kitchen, even shower gel. She has thought of everything. We would definitely stay here next time we are lucky enough to be visiting Zagreb.

Maya´s Main Square apartment war für uns Zagreb-Entdecker das große Los. Die ausstattung der blitzsauberen Räumlichkeiten ist rundum perfekt und lässt keine Wünsche offen. Mit viel Liebe zum Detail hat Maya eine tolle atmosphäre geschaffen. Hier haben wir uns sofort zu Hause gefühlt - und das mitten in einer (für uns) fremden Stadt..
Unser Highlight: Wenn wir durch das gepflegte Treppenhaus nach draußen traten, fanden wir uns in einem Meer von Blumen wieder. Hier ist jeden Tag Blumenmarkt - eine Fortsetzung des großen Marktes, der ebenfalls nur ein paar Treppenstufen entfernt ist. Hier haben wir alles gefunden, was wir zum täglichen Leben brauchten - direkt aus dem Umland frisch auf den Tisch.
Shopping, Sehenswürdigkeiten, Ausstellungen etc. - das meiste war in Laufweite zu erreichen. Straßenbahnen in alle Richtungen fanden wir am Hauptplatz in 2-Minuten-Nähe, einen Taxistand gleich an der nächsten Straßenecke. Persönliche Empfehlung: ab 2 Personen lohnt es sich immer das Taxi zu wählen.
Besonders gefallen hat uns, dass wir im Vorfeld unseres Besuches via eMail schon alles abklären konnten: am Flughafen wartete ein reserviertes EkoTaxi (sehr preiswert), bei der Wohnung wartete Maya, unsere so sympathische wie schöne Wirtin - alles verlief wie geplant, völlig stressfrei. Wie versprochen war sie auch immer telefonisch für uns erreichbar. Wir verdanken ihr wirklich tolle Insider-Tips! Jedem, der das wirkliche Zagreb erleben will, können wir dieses apartment absolut empfehlen. Noch ein Tip: auf Maya´s handschriftliche Empfehlungen auf der Schreibtischunterlage kann man sich 100prozentig verlassen. Wir haben selten so gut gespeist ... Ingrid & Klaus (waren anfang april 2013 in Zagreb).

det kunde inte bli bättre! Fresh, modern lägenhet mitt i city! Lokationen kan inte bli bättre! Gamla staden bara några meter ifrån, många mysiga kaféer , förbindelser med spårvagnar och inte glömma den underbara grönsakstorget med allt vad du kan önska dig , underbara dofter och färger!Supertrevligt bemötande av värdinnan, många nyttiga tips finns i broschyrer i lägenheten och alla bekvämligheter .Värdinnan har verkligen tänkt på allt! Man får tom en mob tel med kroatisk kort att använda under sitt vistelse-väldigt nyttigt! För mig personligen var det bättre än att vara på ett hotell! Absolut att rekommendera!

Hemos estados alojados dos noches en el apartamento y todo ha estado genial. Está situado en el mismo centro de la ciudad, en la plaza y desde allà te puedes recorrer la parte antigua y la nueva en apenas dos horas, sin necesidad de ningún medio de transporte. Los propietarios (Maya y su marido) son dos perfectos anfitriones que nos ayudaron incluso con el parking y nos dieron todo tipo de explicaciones que necesitamos. Igualmente, tenÃan en el apartamento todo tipo de información de la ciudad (y actualizada!!!). El apartamento estaba completamente limpio y era amplio para cuatro personas.

We had an amazing time with Maya! She is passionate about hosting and this was obvious from the moment we booked. She was in touch with us by e-mail offering suggestions and answering all our questions months before our stay. She has also specially organized some lovely things for her guests - she organized Eco taxis for us (at an excellent rate) so we didn't have to worry about getting to and from the airport. She has a whole collage of her recommendations for restaurants, bars, shopping etc in the apartment which is really helpful and she's even organized for her guests to get a complimentary dessert at her top recommended restaurant. The apartment itself is lovely. The photos are great and give a good idea of the apartment but it's even better in person. Maya really goes above and beyond in hosting, she was in contact with us daily while we were there. I really can't speak highly enough of Maya and her gorgeous main square apartment.

La location e' assolutamente fantastica nella piazza centrale di Zagabria,esci dall' edificio e sei nel centro della citta', vicino a tutti i principali luoghi di interesse, un parcheggio custodito a poche centinaia di metri consente di lasciare la macchina anche per piu' giorni senza grossi costi aggiuntivi.L'appartamento e' splendido,pulito, caldo(io sono stato in inverno ma e' fornito di aria condizionata) e super equipaggiato di ogni confort,con 1000 informazioni a cui attingere, wifi ad alta velocita' compreso,superfunzionale per ogni esigenza, molto tranquillo e silenzioso.Ringrazio di tutto cuore Maya e Tiho, marito e moglie proprietari del posto, per l'estrema gentilezza, disponibilita' e grande cortesia, e per tutto il supporto offerto in questi nostri giorni a Zagabria.Assolutamente certo il mio ritorno in questa sorprendente citta'!!

Nuestra estancia en el apartamento ha sido estupenda. El tamaño, la decoración y el equipamiento han sido perfectos. No hemos echado nada en falta y por supuesto, tenemos que añadir la perfecta localización del sitio. Es como estar en Madrid en la Puerta del Sol! Pero tranquilo porque está perfectamente aclimatado de manera que no te llegan ruidos del exterior.

Zagreb apartment 10/1/12
This was a lovely apartment with every kind of amenity. Our host, Maya, was very helpful in every way. The rooms were spacious and overlooked the main square. Outside the building were flower vendors of every type and the open air markets were just up the street. Most of the restaurants were within walking distance. In the main square there were trams that ran very often which was good for seeing sights. Best was the view from the large windows. We did not like walking up so many flights of stairs especially when it was dark.

Maya's apartment catered to a lovely 5 day stay in Zagreb. The apartment is spacious, cozy, homey and fully equipped with lots of sleeping space, cable, wifi, tea/coffee, laundry and literally in the main square of Zagreb. Maya was so sweet and helpful. We must have emailed her on a daily basis for gym, spa, day trip advice and she always was happy to help and responded within a few hours. She even took us out for a brandy! I would recommend this apartment to anyone.

This is a wonderful apartment on the great location, very clean, spacious, very well equipped, with lovely and very kind owner Maya!
We stayed at the apartment for 5 nights, and after 5 minutes we felt like is our new home. Everything was really clean, so clean!! Lot of extra towels, linens..all the equipment you need and in great condition too! How welcome and safe it feels, maybe best describes that our 4 year old daughter didn't want to sleep with us in the bedroom, but all alone on the comfortable sofa bed in the large living room.
We loved the apartment, location and Maya who is so kind and helpful, before - during and after stay. Thanks Maya¨!!

Main Square is beautiful apartment. Specious, clean and well equiped.
It has two large bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom. Location is amazing, diretly at the main city square. Hosts were really kind and helpful, explained us all about city we needed. It was great two days stay.
We would definitely stay here next time.

Location : If there is a 'ground zero' in zagreb this is it!.
Cleanliness & Comfort: The apartment was as clean as a whistle,everything one could ask for has been provided & more.
The apartment is very well laid out, spacious, airy, squeaky clean bathrooms, equipped with a boatload of extra-linen & towels.
Most importantly, 'what you see is what you get', which in itself can be a rarity, as short-term rentals go. No excuse's, no if's, no but's, everything in the apartment is functional.
In a nutshell, if one is looking for 5 star facilities at 3 star prices,you got it. Look no further.
A for the hostess Maya. Everything about her exudes a certain warmth ,that one usually experience's on meeting a long lost sibling. Maya ,is a stickler for detail, as is evident as soon as you enter the apartment. If you are going to have just one friend in Zagreb, you better hope it be , Maya.
To most you may be just a tenant, to Maya you are a friend.

Zum appartment:
Ein sauberes und modern eingerichtetes 2-Zimmer apartment (Schlafzimmer, Küche, Wohnzimmer, Duschbad, Wifi verfügbar). Die Küche ist (wirklich!) komplett ausgestattet. Hervorragendes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis. Das Schlafzimmer und die Küche gehen zu einem Innenhof (Milchglas) das Wohnzimmer zur Tkal?i?eva. Die Gastgeberin war überaus freundlich und serviceorientiert. Jederzeit wieder!
Zur Lage:
Zentraler geht es nicht. Direkt in der Gasse zwischen dem zentralen Trg Bana Jela?i?a und dem Dolac. Direkt vor der Haustüre werden Blumen verkauft, zum Marktplatz sind es 30m und zur Tkal?i?eva ulica mit den vielen, netten Bars 50m. Lediglich Parkplätze sind nicht wirklich vorhanden. Daher: Tipp - Ein wenig außerhalb parken und mir der Straßenbahn fahren oder ein Parkhaus nutzen (Achtung: unter Umständen teurer als das apartment).
Tipps:
Morgenkaffee auf dem Dolac, Mittag/Abendessen im Stari Fijaker oder GostionicaPurger (jeweils 5 Min zu Fuß).Response from Maya Novak - 11/26/2012

Ich bedanke mich recht herzlich fuer Ihre Bewertung und freue mich sehr, dass Sie sich bei uns so wohl gefuehlt haben. Wass das Parken angeht, haben Sie zum Teil recht. Wie in jedem Zentrum einer Grossstadt, ist es schwer einen Parkplatz zu finden. Da Sie diesmal mit dem Flugzeug gekommen sind, wußte ich nicht, dass Sie einen Parkplatz brauchen. Wenn ich das gewußt haette, haette ich Ihnen gerne ein Parkhaus in der Naehe vom Appartment empfohlen, wo man fuer nur 4 kuna (0,5€)/Stunde parken kann. Oder, noch besser, es gibt auch einen Parkplatz, den man im Voraus 80 kuna (11€) fuer 24 Stunden bezahlen kann.
Ich hoffe jedenfalls, Sie in unserem Appartment wieder begruessen zu koennen. Naechstes Mal trinken wir zusammen einen Morgenkaffe auf dem Dolac! :-)

We stayed with our 4 year old daughter at the apartment this November, and we loved it! Since the first contact with Maya everything was great! She was very helpful,informative and kind during our correspondence, and after during our stay. Apartment was very clean, spacious, modern, and on the great location. Just a step outside and we were on the main square, pedestrian zone, with easy access to anything you want to see or do in Zagreb.
We really loved it, and already plan to go back. Once again, special thanks to Maya who was great and make us feel like its our new home.

Maya and her husband met us late at night in the rain to take us to her apartment. When we arrived it was warm and inviting with every possible amenity you should want. We loved it so much we stayed an extra night. The apartment is as central as you can get and the square is alive with flower and veg markets during the day. All the trams for the city stop at the main square. We will definitely go and stay again. Thanks for all your help Maya.

Look no further! This is a wonderful, well-located, and cozy apartment. As a person who sifts and sorts thru the internet sites to locate the perfect apartments for our stays, I found Main Square apartment to be the perfect fit for my wife and I. First and foremost, it has great reviews which I found to be accurate. And secondly, equally important to me, it has a contact person easily accessible before and during your visit. Maja was terrific from our first contact until the day we checked out. She treats this apartment, once her own home, as if it were her child. She is not only caring and helpful but goes out of her way to see you are pleased.
The apartment is within a one minute walk of everything...including the metro, grocery stores, wonderful bakeries, the daily open air vegetable/fish/cheese/meat market and at least a dozen fine restaurants. Because we like to cook with local foods, we were pleased to find the kitchen very adequate both in appliances and in pots/pans/chinaware.
I particularly enjoyed the huge glass door/windows in the living room which open to the street below. They bring wonderful light to the apartment and are super for watching the people in the square below. The flower market is directly below the windows too and this lends a marvelous ambiance. The bedroom is located in the rear portion of apartment, away from the pedestrian area outside the apartment. The real bed (not two pushed together) was very comfortable with colorful crisp sheets. Noise was not an issue anywhere within the apartment. The apartment is within a large mostly commercial building and is located on the second floor. There is a lift available although we did not find it necessary.
We really did enjoy Maja's apartment and our time in Zagreb. We traveled in Europe for several weeks in September and stayed in a variety of apartments. Maja's Main Square apartment was perfect in every way and we highly recommend it to everyone.

After flying from California to Zagreb, we spent our first night in Croatia at the Main Square apartment. What a wonderful beginning to great vacation. We were met by the taxi driver as we exited customs (arranged by Maya) and transported directly to the apartment. Maya met us at the apartment, assisted in moving our bags from taxi to apartment, and familiarized us with the apartment and Zagreb. She briefly explained a very helpful display on a desktop: restaurants, places of interest, important phone numbers (including hers) and other pertinent information. She left a phone card for us to use locally if needed. The apartment was clean, comfortable, quiet, and ideally located on the Main Square. We looked down on a pedestrian street through windows from ceiling to floor. When closed, not a sound entered from the street below. Thank you, Maya for a wonderful introduction to Croatia and the people of your country. Meeting you and staying at the Main Square apartment was 100% positive and pleasurable.

This apartment is centrally located and all the tourist sites are nearby. Maya is a wonderful host and the apartment is very well equipped. She had provided very clear instructions to the apartment and was extremely thoughtful and written a note which was touching. This place is really a home, away from home.

The apartment is extremely well-located right on Ban Jela?i? Square - one can't get any more central than this. The apartment is quite spacious, with separate living room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and very well-appointed. There are helpful brochures, magazines, even a DVD about Zagreb/Croatia in the apartment. The best part of the apartment is the host, Maya. She is the most helpful host I have come across in all of my travels. She answered all of our questions prior to our arrival, made inquiries on our behalf (e.g., for car rentals), and provided tons of information that helped us plan our trip. She also arranged for airport pick-up and drop-off (and we weren't even staying with her when we were leaving at the end of our trip). She also checked in on us during our trip when we were traveling elsewhere in Croatia, and offered her help while we were traveling. She became like a friend rather than simply a host of an accommodation.

If you are looking for a centrally located, well-equipped apartment in Zagreb, you can't go wrong with the Main Square apartment. The owner Maya Novak has thought of everything, and made this a home away from home. The apartment is right in the centre of town, within walking distance of all the major sights, restaurants, bars, the Dolac market with wonderful fresh fruit, vegetables and delicatessen goods, and a sweet flower market. Maya was full of great suggestions on what to do and where to eat in Zagreb and was very welcoming and helpful. We'd gladly stay again.

Amazing. Maya personally looks after each and every visitor, she makes sure they find the address, introduces them to the apartment with a very cute, personalised welcome ;) and points out the main local attractions.
The home is beautiful. Very modern and clean equipped with everything you'd ever need, from tea and coffee to laundry facilities, spare towels - you could literally move in and live there permanently.
The location is fantastic, central, just moments away from restaurants, bars and clubs, cathedrals, museums and heritage sites, and every morning just beyond the window is the friendly and colourful hustle and bustle of the local market under traditional red umbrellas, where you can get everything from fresh local flowers, fresh produce and fresh souviniers :)
What I liked best is that Maya leaves you with a taste of the local friendliness and hospitality right from the word go. I especially loved her glass-topped table, under which a guest will find any and all the information they'd need from the phone numbers and addresses of the best local restaurants to her personal Wi-Fi name and password.

My friends and I loved staying at Maya's apartment in Zagreb. It was right in the center of everything and every morning we woke up to a beautiful flower mart. Maya has truly thought of everything--she had restaurant recommendations, a mobile phone for us to use, and maps that marked souvenir shops and bars. We took her advice for place to eat lunch and received a free dessert there. She even got us a cab for nearly half of what other tourists pay. We felt very well cared for. Maya did everything she could to make our stay as easy and fun as possible.

If you are going to stay shorter term and when every minute counts this apartment is worth every penny - especially if you are coming with kids that might require quick acess to the aparment (naps:)). Maja is a gracious host that will make sure all of your questions are answered. She also provided a list of top destinations in terms of entrtainment, restaurants, shopping and groceries - most very close - and it is quite useful as you are surrounded with hundreds of establishements in the center, so having some guidence saves you time. The apartment itself is elegantly decorate and appears newly renovated. You will have all you need - very smooth stay - highly recommend

An absolutely adorable apartment in the center of Zagreb, furnished with a lot of charm and taste. Great welcoming, lovely landlady, lots of great tips on what to do and what to see in Zagreb. Perfectly clean, offering everything from a fully equipped modern kitchen, a spacious living room with a lot of daylight and a cozy bedroom. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Zagreb!

Maya met us at the train station and gave us a tour as we drove to the apartment in the pouring rain!She took the time to take us shopping so we could have food for the next day.The apartment is unique in shape and design adding to its character.We enjoyed watching the comings and goings of the main square and stepping out Saturday morning to be greeted by the sights and smells of the flower market!Despite all the activity around us, a very quiet and secure accommodation.You can tell that Maya loves what she does and she does it well! My friends and I (two couples) stayed in the apartment for a few nights. There is one bedroom and a comfortable sofa bed in the living room. The location is amazing. You walk out the door straight into the weekend market and only a few steps from all of the bars and restaurants. If you want to be in the very heart if the city, this is it.
The apartment had very good amenities and was very clean. Maya was so kind and helpful and was generous in offering information or any assistance to
make our stay the best possible.
We had a great stay in Zagreb and I would highly recommend the apartment to anyone wanting to stay in the heart of the city. -

We have been to Zagreb before, and have stayed in apartments for a short term rent. However, after we have discovered the Main Square apartment, we're not likely to change our choice any more. The location is just perfect, right on the main Zagreb square. Whether you are in Zagreb as a tourist or for business purposes, whatever you do, and wherever you go - everything is right there, or just around the corner. Despite of the central position, the place is really quiet, both during the day and at night. The apartment is warm and cosy and we really felt like at home. It is very clean and fully equipped. We didn't miss a single thing inthere, be it a cheese slicer or champagne glasses, the hosts have thought about everything. There was even a welcome drink in the fridge left for us, as well as fresh fruit. Our hosts were very kind and helpful, provided us with all sorts of useful information we needed. We will definitelly book the Main Square apartment next time we're in Zagreb, and will always recommend it to everyone who is travelling there.

My friend and me really had a pleasent stay in Maya's apartment.Maya is a dear and very sweet person, same like apartment. The booking was so easy, Maya immediately answered for any questions and for reservation.The apartment is the best location in Zagreb. It match with the photos provided on the web site. It's comfortable, so clean, very quiet at night, and so, so charming. The apartment has internet and satellite TV, good CD, so cute sleeping room, modern furniture, kitchen with hole dishes what you need for prepare the lunch (near is the best market in Zagreb with fresh food). I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Maya's apartment. It's in the best location in Zagreb, just a few meters away (literally) from shopping, restaurants, and the historic part of the city. The apartment was rather modern, extremely clean, and very quiet at night despite its central location. Maya is a very sweet person and answered my emails promptly during/after the booking process. She even had fresh fruit from the market waiting in the kitchen for me. My only regret was that we didn't have more time to chat. I would highly recommend this apartment for your stay in Zagreb.
