Description from the owner
Zakopane located at the foot of the Tatra Mountains is the Aspen of Eastern Europe with a newly rebuilt ski lift raising skiers by large gondolas some 6000 vertical feet to the lodge atop Mt. Kasprowy. Runs are intermediate to expert. Beginner slopes are at nearby Nosal which also has a high, very steep professional run. Other smaller and lower lifts are within a few miles. Picture town of Zakopane is basically a single main walking street filled with shops of all kinds, numerous excellent restaurants serving grilled and other Polish foods. Vero Beach, FloridaZakopane- A must place to visit

Zakopane is a beatiful, vibrant, booming small town at the base of the Tatra mountains and is the ski capital of eastern Europe. We stayed in a 100 year old renovated nun's residence.Wonderful hiking trails thru the valleys with clear, refreshing air. The town has numerous very good restaurants, bars & nightclubs. It's a 2 hour easy bus ride to historic Krakow. All in all, it was a healthy, relaxing & educational vacation.

We rented one bedroom apartment with kitchen. It was our second time we stay in this place. Many changes and improvements since last time. We were very happy with service our room and warm treatment by Owner, although the weather was bed, rain and cold. We rented this same appartment again for vacation, but this time in august.

Los Angeles, CaliforniaI had a great time in Zakopane, Poland!
Left on 05/29/2010 for a stay in July 2009
Stayed 5 nights at this very conveniently located and quiet "St. Stanislaw Guest House". Appreciated the room which was bright and clean. There was a kitchen and a wireless internet. The shop around the corner has everything I needed for a delicious polish breakfast. Nice restaurants and bars were close, in the walking distance. I would love to go there again and I strongly recommend this place!
As a solo traveler I enjoyed a B&B; next door where the host lives and where I could meet other guests. The host, his name is Greg, was there when I arrived and he gave me the keys, and he arranged an early taxi pickup for me on my departure day. He was very helpful. Zakopane is a lovely, unique town, very attractive all year around. "St. Stanislaw Guest House" sits next to the borders of the Tatra National Park. What else would I need for my vacations... I had a great time!
