"Mallard Lodge" is located in the lakefront community of Skyland which is on the South Shore of Lake Tahoe approximately 5 miles from the casino and Heavenly Gondola. This luxury, 6,500 square lakefront home has its own private beach, buoy and hot tub which looks out over the lake. There is wireless internet throughout the house and with two living areas, there is ample room to relax. The great room incorporates the kitchen, dining area and main living area which opens to an expansive deck overlooking the lake and private beach. Back porch may not be suitable for toddlers.

The house has a great location, however lacks in terms of confort, specially regarding electronics equipments as Tv's sound system and ec..
I would not rent this unit again.
When we arrived we founf two dead birds at the main door step and there they stayed for days until I had to thow them away, after that more two birds slamed into the glass above thedoor and died also.

This was a great house. Amazing views and fit 12 of us very comfortably. Great open concept house and the kitchen had everything you could want. The Master bedroom/bath was incredible. The family room they speak of with the sofa bed is really like another large bedroom/game room with its own bathroom and a second laundry room. It's very private. Probably not a great house for little kids since they could fall off the deck if you don't watch them pretty closely. We will rent again I'm sure.

This home is the bomb!! It is so beautiful with all the amenities of home. We rented this home with 2 other couples and were very, very, pleased!! No complaints whatsoever!!! The beds are very comfortable, the house is clean and the sights are amazing!!! Funny thing happened though, we are from Dallas, we hardly ever have to use our fire place, it just doesnt get cold enough! We walked into this house (in March) and it was cold!! We looked forever for floor/ceiling vents once we turned on the heat and were very confused then we figured out the floors are heated!! It was very nice walking sock foot on a warm floor!! Very nice!! I defininetly recommend this home!!! Short drive into Tahoe city, maybe 5 miles and I just cant say enought good about the beauty of the view right out the large windows in the back of this home!

We had a great family holiday. The location is ideal. Lake view is amazing! Home had open concept living room with large kitchen island that was perfect for entertaining family. Each bedroom had its own designated bathroom. Could have used better bedding and more towels for kitchen and bathrooms. Although it looked pretty clean upon arrival I was constantly finding candy wrappers under tables and beds and could have used a better dusting and window cleaning upon our arrival. Rate is quite expensive for this time of year so you expect perfection.

We were fortunate enough to experience the home with a great group of friends. The homes layout allows for a group of people to stay and not feel as tough you are cramped. Each bedroom is equipped with a private bath which adds to the comfort. The open great room is nothing short from spectacular with full views of the lake and mountains.
The problem with the home is trying to fit other plans into your day. Once inside enjoying the views, it makes it nearly imposable to leave to go skiing, which is what happened to us. Our plans to go up to Heavenly was canceled because we just didn't want to leave the comforts of the home.
Also make sure you are around for the amazing sunsets! The house is positioned perfectly to enjoy the sun go down and take some of the most beautiful family pictures.
If you get the chance, book it, and enjoy! -

We stayed there for my wife's 40th Birthday with friends, and the house and location were amazing. The house was well above our expectations with a large gourmet kitchen overlooking the lake, multiple family rooms, cathedral ceilings, and more than enough room for the ten of us. The house was ideal for a large group, and for any special occasion.
There are two large outdoor decks with both overlooking Lake Tahoe. The bottom deck has a great hot tub, and stairs leading down to the lake where all the area ducks gathered.
Although all the bedrooms were amazing, the master bedroom was especially great as it overlooked the lake, had a separate fireplace, a large bathroom with a a jacuzzi tub, and a shower with a separate steam shower.
The entire house has heated floors which kept the house nice and cozy.
We definitely plan on going back as soon as we can. -

Eight of us spent four nights here. The beautiful home offered both privacy and congenial community spaces. We enjoyed cooking together in the well appointed kitchen. We hiked, swam and boated. Sitting in the on the patio simply eases all tension and cares away. It is among the best places I've ever stayed.
