Located right in the heart of Zermatt, just 250m from the Sunnegga Express Funicular, Haus Roc is the perfect base for your winter, or summer, holiday in the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise.
Our apartment within Haus Roc is a little gem that is suitable for 2 people (4 upon request) and is available for weekly hire throughout the year.
Zermatt and the linked Italian resort of Cervinia make up the Matterhorn skiing region, which is reckoned by many to be the best in the world. With over 350km of linked runs, it is certainly one of the largest. Few would dispute that it is also the most stunningly beautiful, with the majestic Matterhorn providing the spectacular backdrop throughout the resort.
The Matterhorn is probably the most photographed mountain in the world, but the picture here on the right is special. This is taken from our balcony, without zoom, and shows you the view that will greet you every morning!
But for skiers and walkers alike, it is the proximity of Haus Roc to the extensive lift system which will be of most interest. Just a short, slightly downhill, stroll will get you to the modern Sunnegga funicular lift, which will take you inside the mountain up to the Sunnegga skiing area, and then onwards by cablecar to the summit of Rothorn. From here the entire Matterhorn region is accessible to skiers. A real Winter Wonderland!
Just a few meters further on, past the Sunnegga lift, is the Gornergrat Bahn station. From here you can catch the mountain railway and ride in style all the way up, above the glaciers, to Gornergrat - with it's world famous views of the Matterhorn massiff.

We arrived at the apartment with ease using Nina's directions. The apartment was very clean and well furnished making us feel at home. The welcome basket we received was filled with all sorts of lovely goodies. :) There is also ample tourist information provided in the apartment.
The view from the balcony is just amazing. The three nights we spent in Zermatt were overcast but to our delight the matterhorn did reveal itself on our last morning.
Nina is a fantastic host. Unfortunately we did not get to meet her but the arrangements for check in and out were very smooth. We did have the pleasure of speaking with Nina on the phone which was very helpful and we really appreciated her genuine concern for us to see the matterhorn in all its glory.
If we are ever in Zermatt again there will be no hesitation to book this apartment again. Hopefully next time we can get there in the winter and enjoy the slopes. -

L'appartement est très bien placé pour les skieurs et les promeneurs.
Les prestations générales sont excellentes le panier d'accueil est particulièrement agréable.
Dès que l'on pénètre dans l'appartement on se sent chez soit tout y est prévu et bien pensé.
je ne parle pas de la vue sur le Cervin qui est une véritable pépite...

Absolutely fantastic apartment. Equipped with everything (and more!) that you need for a stress free holiday. The owner went out of her way to gather useful information for us. Things like the "welcome basket" was very much appreciated after nearly 24 hours of travelling to get to Zermatt. The apartment was immaculate. The view absolutely stunning and within easy walking of everything in the town. Would not even consider any other apartment when we return to Zermatt. Definite 10/10 score!!

Everything about this rental was excellent. When booking Elena was very responsive to emails, helped me organise accommodation nearby for others in my party and then showed concern about our arrival and settling in, including a telephone call shortly after we arrived to check we had no problems. She booked restaurants for us, including Chez Heini, which we now realise is a must. The welcome pack (and herbs, tea, coffee etc that was there) was helpful, arriving as one does in Zermatt by train. The apartment was very well equipped, everything worked (including - unusually for Zermatt - several UK TV channels), and there are beautiful views of the Matterhorn from the living room and bedroom. It is in the Wiesti area, a short walk from the Sunnegga lift, which (in my view anyway) is the quickest way to the most interesting slopes in Zermatt, and it is also a readily walkable distance from the supermarket and centre of Zermatt. Somehow my wife and I felt "at home" there - though some of the equipment was better than ours.

We really enjoyed our week at Haus Roc. The apartment had everything we needed, from bedding and bath supplies to a fully stocked kitchen, down to olive oil and vinegar. There was a lovely welcome basket waiting for us so we didn't even have to do any shopping our first day. The apartment is very well-maintained and worked very well for our family of four. The beds are comfortable, there is ample closet space, and the apartment has a great view of the Matterhorn. Haus Roc is within a five minute walk of the Sunnegga lift and about a five minute walk to the bus stop to the other lifts. The owner was incredibly friendly, helpful, and accessible from the initial point of contact. She also gave us lots of recommendations for restaurants and things to do. Within the village of Zermatt and along the pistes there are a number of excellent restaurants, all worth trying. All in, we has a great week, we would highly recommend Haus Roc and would definitely stay there again.

Fantastic apartment which matched the website claims and description precisely. Beautifully clean and tidy on arrival with clear directions and excellent service by local caretaker with follow up calls from the owner. Ideally situated for a ski holiday with appropriate amenities (ski rental, lift or ski e-bus) only a few minutes from the apartment.
From the moment we arrived we felt as though this was our home for the week.

Apartment 17 at Haus Roc is the perfect base for your holiday in Zermatt.
After 35 hours of travel direct from Christchurch New Zealand we arrived in Zermatt exhausted but excited about the adventure ahead.
Through our email correspondence with Nina prior to our arrival we knew exactly where to go to collect the keys from Gloria and found the location easily. We were welcomed with a spotless apartment and a delicious welcome basket waiting for us.
The apartment itself is beautifully decorated, very warm, light and modern. Wonderful master bedroom and living area with spectacular views of the majestic Matterhorn.
The location couldn't be better. Centrally located to all Zermatt has to offer. 5 minutes walk in ski boots to the main ski area access, and about the same to the Main Street in Zermatt with its wonderful restaurants and bars.
In conclusion Zermatt is the fairytale location we knew it would be. Totally unique and some of the best skiing we have had in one of the worlds most spectacular locations. We would recommend this apartment as the perfect place to stay in Zermatt. Great value for money, superb location, beautifully decorated. It could not have been better!

I can't fault the accomodation. It was conveniently located, had fantastic views of the Matterhorn and was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was not large but had everything you could want. We stayed for a week with our children and had a really enjoyable time.

We really enjoyed our stay in Zermatt at Haus Roc. The apartment was very clean and had all the comforts of home - including a delicious welcome basket of tasty goodies! The view of the Matterhorn from both rooms is exceptional and we particularly enjoyed having a work area with this beautiful backdrop.
The kitchen is well appointed and we were able to enjoy a few meals at home which helped cut down on expense and excess calories. Elena also made some great restaurant recommendations, including Chez Heini which was delicious, fun and convenient.
The location is quiet yet close to town center, lifts and ski bus stops. We were in Zermatt primarily for skiing and, despite the fact that the mountain wasn't fully open (weather), we felt the experience in Zermatt and at Haus Roc was better than any North american ski experience (excluding powder days at alta, of course ;)
Most of all, we felt the service was exceptional. Elena really went out of her way to make us feel at home as did Gloria. Elena was always available via phone and email and provided many recommendations on things to do and places to eat. Gloria showed us around the apartment and helped us figure out the in-building laundry which was a tremendous blessing (and huge asset to this apartment, in my opinion) as we'd been traveling for weeks.
Overall, we would strongly recommend Haus Roc to others and would love to stay there again on our next trip to Zermatt!

Had a wonderful short stay in his lovely apartment.
Just a few minutes walk from the train station and center of zermatt, in a nice quiet area.
Brilliant view of matterhorn and surroundings from the bedroom, living room and balcony.
Modern, stylish, clean and cosy. It felt comfortable and homely, but it also felt like a real treat staying here.
Enjoying a warm, lazy, sunny breakfast on the balcony in the snow was one of my highlights.
The ipod dock, two great TVs, coffee maker, monopoly and a brilliant cuckoo clock made this a holiday to remember.
The welcome pack was great and we only needed a few extra veg to make a good meal in for two (made a change from all the cheese!).
Very compact kitchen, but everything we needed was there.
It was all we had expected and more, we're glad we payed a little extra to stay here.
Elena was a very helpful, friendly and welcoming remote host!

Yes, fantastic experience was, probably, the best sentence I found in order to describe our stay in Haus Roc apartment.
First of all Miss Elena, during our negotiation was really very very kindly and professional, suggesting us the best way and how to reach the location from our hometown (she prepared and sent to us very detailed train plan comprehensive of timetable and connections).
On our arrival she arranged a very warm welcome for Mr, my wife and our two childrens, by providing us spaghetti, chocolate, wine and many other very useful groceries, very appreciate by foreigners who come for the very first time in a place.
the apartment was perfect!!
Believe me, apart the food, we did not had to buy nothing else.
Everything a family with children needs was there, including 2 fantastic 3D LCD TV, a printer with fax and very very fast internet connection.
Theview of the Matterhorn was superb and waking up seeing that mountain is an experience that at least once should be done.
Zermatt is a paradise for who loves mountain and the Switzerland.
the city is without conventional car, just electric ones and is super clean.
The cost of living is definitively high but we have to consider that we are in Switzerland and in.a very top holiday location.
Anyway supermarket are there and affordable.
so, what to say more, actually I asked to Elena to find us a new slot of dates in order to spend our Christmas holiday once more in Zermatt and once more in Roc Haus.
I really hope that Elena will do this miracle for us.

Roczermatt is a superb apartment and the best that I have ever rent! The apartment is fully furnished! There are everything that you need as you were at home! And it is absolutely stylish and cozy! Of coz, it has a stunning Matterhorn View!
We are a family of 4 and stayed in Zermatt for 2 nights, we only had half-day good weather, if we were not living in Roczermatt, I guess we probably won't have chance to view the Matterhorn. When we just opened our eyes in the morning, the Matterhorn is right in front of you!
We had had a very pleasant stay, not only because of the perfect hardware of Roczermatt, more important was that the owner Elena was so caring, informative and readily available to help us. Elena had provide the best suggestion on what to do and what to eat. Without the her great advice, we couldn't have aware of the weather and grabbed the chance to go up to the Gornergrat.
In the evening, it was raining, we didn't go out for dinner, instead we cooked the spaghetti and drank the white wine given by Elena in the Welcome basket, we used her fondue set and have a meat fondue. After the dinner, we just put every used utensil into the dish washer, the apartment gave us a real vacation as we didn't have to bother about the housework.

Merveilleuses vacances passées dans cet appartement très bien situé, près de la gare, mais dans un endroit calme et agréable, avec une vue unique sur le Cervin!
Excellent contact avec Mme Dominguez qui a tout fait afin que notre séjour soit des plus agréables!
Panier d'accueil généreux et utile. Appartement de grand confort, bien équipé, spacieux, lumineux, décoré avec bon goût, de propreté irréprochable! Nous avons regretté de devoir quitter ce cocon si douillet mais espérons avoir l'occasion d'y retourner !
Nous recommandons vivement cet appartement à toute personne désirant passer un séjour inoubliable à Zermatt!

D'emblée, en entrant, vu par la baie, on tombe sur le Cervin ! C'est dire...!
Les impressions suivantes sont du " même tonneau" : la cuisine est géniale et tout est super "clean".
Le couchage est d'excellente qualité, de bon goût, l'espace en plus.
( le premier confort)
La déco: "classe" ( un truc de fille, branchée HD, j'ai beaucoup aimé)

This little apartment is an absolute gem in the heart of Zermatt. The first thing you notice is just how clean and well organised it is. The furniture and decor is modern and bright and typically Swiss!! It has all the creature comforts and appliances to make you feel like its your home away from home. The views from the balcony, lounge and bedroom are amazing and breath taking as the great Matterhorn towers over you. The town centre and train station are only a short walk away which makes exploring very easy. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a very affordable, comfortable and wonderful place to stay. Thank you Haus Roc.

Pleine de générosité,l'hôtesse s'est souciée de notre bien-être et a tout mis en oeuvre pour que notre séjour se déroule dans les meilleurs conditions.
La maison se situe si bien qu'elle se trouve près du centre tout en étant à l'écart de ses bruits et va et vient. Dans le calme, sur le balcon, on peut profiter des rayons du soleil au couchant en face du majestueux Cervin qui offre un spectacle privilégié sur fond de ciel bleu et changeant de face à tous les instants en jouant à cache cache avec un nuage ouattiné.
Si toutefois vous tombez sur un jour pluvieux, vous faites tourner le lave vaisselle et vous allez vous détendre dans la douche. Là, vous y trouverez massage et hamam...
Ensuite, après une bonne raclette, il y aura sûrement un bon film sur l'un des 2 écrans plats à moins que vous préfériez un DVD ou encore de la musique sur la table d'accueil de votre iphone. Vous pouvez vous branchez sur la Wifi et j'en passe, pas de quoi s'ennuyer !!!
Georges Cloney n'y était pas mais le café Nespresso, lui, il y était avec ses capsules...
Comme pour toute bonne chose, il y a la cerise sur le gâteau et c'est le panier d'accueil que nous encourageons à découvrir...

The description and pictures are really true to how this lovely apartment is in reality. The view is superb, when you wake up in morning and the weather is clear, all you see is the Matterhorn. you see it from the bed and the from the living room sofa-bed. It is a nice experience seeing the first sun rays tinting the Matterhorn red. It is about 10 to 15 minute walk from the train station. A welcoming basket adds a nice touch to the stay!

Very comfortable. Exceptionally clean and new. Make you feel at home. Beautiful view of sunrise of Matterhorn from the balcony. You can watch the sunrise and have breakfast in the balcony. Everything in the apartment is so perfectly prepared, especially kitchenware. Dish washing machine available and make cooking easier. It is close to the Sunnega station.

Haus Roc was more than I expected. First impression when we walked in was that it was very nicely decorated. Simple but with lots of detail in the right places. The best part was of course is the view of the Matterhorn. The pictures do not do it justice. Seeing it in person is just amazing.
Bed was very comfortable and blankets were very warm. The sofa was very comfortable as well. The kitchen amenities were very complete as we cooked several meals there. We didn't have to buy any oil, salt, pepper or spices as they were all provided. My husband also made a cup of coffee every morning with the very easy coffee maker. All you had to put in was water.
Haus Roc is on a very quiet street right behind Hotel Primavera. It's a very easy 10 min walk to the train station and also where all the restaurants and shopping are.
Elena (aka Nina) was such a helpful and gracious host. Even though we did not get to meet in person she was very easily reachable by email and phone. She made lots of great recommendations for restaurants and things to do. She even made reservations for us.
Haus Roc was better than any hotel we could have picked. Definitely recommend this place to family and friends.

Appartement situé très proche des commodités et de la gare ce qui est très agréable et pratique, cela dit, il reste dans un endroit très calme avec une excellente vue sur le Cervin (voir photo ci.jointe).
Accueil superbe avec un panier bien achalandé avec des produits du terroir, excellent et agréable, de même la propreté de l'appartement est excellente. Ainsi l'accueil de la garante de l'appartement très sympathique et disponible.
L'équipement de l'appartement est au top, douche sauna, 2 télés de très bonne qualité, wifi, imprimante, station pour iphone et ipad, etc etc...

Excellent service de communication et d'accueil. Sympathique panier d'accueil (victuailles et spécialités régionales) offert aux hôtes. Intendance et produits de base fournis. Excellent contact avec la propriétaire. Appartement propre et confortable, proposant de nombreuses commodités (Wi-Fi, TV HD, etc.).
Balcon spacieux avec vue magnifique sur le Cervin (séjour et chambre à coucher). Appartement bien situé non loin du centre de Zermatt.

Après un court séjour dans un appartement clair, propre, avec toutes les commodités et une belle situation près du centre et du funiculaire de Sunegga, nous ne pourrons que prolonger nos prochaines vacances.
Depuis le salon ou la chambre à coucher nous admirons le Cervin et une partie du village de Zermatt. Belle situation.

Die Vermieterin kümmert sich aus der Ferne um das Wohl der Gäste mit Tipps für Restaurants etc. Das appartement ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet, man fühlt sich gleich wohl. Die Küche ist perfekt ausgestat-

Zu der schönen Einrichtung kommt noch ein großer Balkon (Südseite) mit
Blick auf das Matterhorn. Selbst aus dem Bett kann man schon den faszi-
nierenden Berg bewundern. Die Sunnegga-Bahn ist zu Fuß in 5 Minuten zu erreichen.
Zu dem exzellenten Skigebiet passt dieses appartement perfekt und macht den Ski-Urlaub perfekt.

J'ai adoré l'atmosphère chaleureuse et confortable de cet appartement. Tout est prévu pour que les hôtes se sentent bien, rien n'a été laissé au hasard. Tout fonctionne à merveille, ce qui permet de profiter au maximum du séjour.

We stayed here in December 2011. We have felt at home.
A lovely basket welcomed us with amongst others a good bottle of Swiss wine and good dark chocolate.
Also we were welcomed by Gloria the lady responsible for the flat. Very helpful in case of need as she lives in the building.
The apartment is very clean and comfortable and it's fitted with hi-tech devices.
We greatly apreciated having so many English channels and being able to listen to the music on our iphone with their Bose Dock.
There is a Nespresso machine with some capsules free!
The neighbourood is nice and calm, yet you are between 200 and 400 meters from everything. Also one of the restaurants we liked the best is just in front of the building! We loved our stay in Zermatt and hope to come back in the same flat!Response from Dominguez Elena - 07/02/2012

We had an amazing stay in this highly comfortable apartment. Newly decorated with great taste, it offers a spectacular view on Matterhorn. We were also lucky with the weather and so we could enjoy the balcony facility which is large enough for eating outside. In addition to that, it is centrally located allowing to be in the heart of Zermatt village.

We have been coming to Zermatt every single year since 2002 and have tested different flats. Some of excellent quality/value but this apartment is the best of all in comfort. Absolutely nothing is missing and you'll find more than expected! We also apreciated the welcome basket with local goodies. Absolutely delicious. We greatly enjoyed the long chairs on the balcony with the blankets (calm neighbourhood), having free access to the phone for reserving restaurants, their amazing informative website (www.roczermatt.com), hooking our ipod to the Bose Dock (amazing sound), etc... We felt as comfortable as if at home so we've come to a decision. We are not testing anymore! This will be our home in Zermatt from now on!

Stayed here with my wife in January 2012 and had one of our best holidays ever. We know Zermatt very well, have skied there many times and rate it as the very best. But this apartment was a real find and we will certainly be using it every year from now on.
The location is perfect, right by the Sunnegga lift and for two people the apartment is absolute perfection. Tastefully decorated, kitted out with all the technology you could ever want and immaculately clean.

Pour notre premier séjour à Zermatt, c'était vraiment réussi. Belle neige, soleil, et surtout l'appartement Haus Roc est vraiment parfait. Déco raffinée et chaleureuse, équipements très au dessus de la moyenne tant pour la maison que les tv et l'internet. La vue sublique sur le Cervin. La situation aussi est très pratique, assez centrale mais tranquille. L'hotesse est charmante.
