What Past Guests Are Saying
What a treat to wake up at the Gooseberry Mesa Lodge's, to stunning views of two mesas that change color throughout the day! The house is lovely and comfortable, just as pictured. The lodge is an excellent base for trips to Zion, St. George and (a somewhat longer drive) to Bryce Canyon. We spent three wonderful days here in april of 2013 with our extended family of 7 and wish only that we had booked a full week! Nik was wonderfully responsive and returned our deposit more than promptly. Thank you for sharing your home!

Trip of a lifetime!
We stayed at Gooseberry Mesa Lodge the last week of March 2013 during our daughter's spring break. We couldn't have been more pleased with the accommodations. The house had absolutely everything you could need. The kitchen was equipped with every possible tool and appliance, the sleeping accommodations were comfortable, and the view was breathtaking. We enjoyed daily visits from local wildlife - rabbits and roadrunners! The house is perfectly located for visiting multiple parks (we went to Zion, Bryce, and antelope Slot Canyon), and we enjoyed using 4WD to access Zion via the Smithsonian Butte Byway. The home-owners were wonderful, were in contact in advance of our trip to make sure we had all our needs taken care of, and offered useful information that helped make our trip more smooth. You couldn't ask for a more perfect location at a house that offers comfort and relaxation after a day of hiking. We would definitely use this house again!
Gooseberry Mesa Lodge, two thumbs up!!
I stayed at Gooseberry Mesa Lodge a few weeks ago. Really glad that I did. The place was impeccable, 5 minutes from the trail head that goes on the most amazing single track in Utah. It may rate higher in my opinion than Moab, for riding, because there are hardly any tourists at Gooseberry Mesa.
The views from the lodge are breath taking. On a full moon you can see Zion and all of the mountains surrounding the lodge. I would definitely come back.
Most relaxing weekend!!!
Gooseberry Mesa Lodge was very relaxing and beautiful!!! It was clean and stocked with everything we could possibly need. The beds were so comfortable!! I slept better there then I do at home. I would totally recommend the lodge to a couple just wanting to get away and relax for a while or and entire family for a great vacation getaway!! I hope to go back again soon!!!
Exactly as advertised!
We would highly recommend this private vacation rental. Our extended family with 4 small children stayed there, and we all found it to be a home away from home. The views were spectacular, the kitchen was very well equipped, it was clean, comfortable and quiet!
We took an off-road shortcut to Zion Nat'l Park (with a Subaru aWD and a jeep), and it turned out to be an added bonus with stunning views, but there are also convenient newly paved roads to the south entrance to Zion.
Evenings around the fire pit, the moon rising over the mountains, starry nights, and lovely patio dinners made us not want to leave the mesa at all...but the area has so much to offer that we did several day trips. The town of Hurricane was nearby with a good grocery store and all of the services one would need.
We do regular destination family gatherings, and this was by far the best venue yet! The owners were wonderful hosts and we will recommend the Gooseberry Mesa Lodge to all of our friends. -Gary
Amazing place with wonderful views.
I stayed at the lodge with my kids and we all enjoyed the wonderful location. Much nicer than staying in a hotel.

I love staying at the Gooseberry Mesa Lodge. We biked all over the place, came back to the house to BBQ. We all sat out on the patio, eating, drinking, laughing, and all this with a great view of Zion NP. I highly recommend the Lodge to friends and family. A Big High 5.

Made a wonderful vacation
After staying here, it will be hard to go camping again. We started searching for campgrounds, Rv's, and hotels only a week before our trip to Zion. When we found this place we knew the odds were against us to rent with such short notice. At first, we were told that the property wasn't available during the dates we would be visiting, but the next day I received a call back from the owner stating that was a mistake.
Without any reviews available for the property and this being my first time renting a home for vacation, I was pretty skeptical. The owners were very attentive and helped make the renting process easy and comfortable. I was also worried how open they would be to have four children, ages 10 and under, staying in their home for three nights, but they were so welcoming of it. They even had some toys available for the children to play with as well as a little 4th of July treat basket waiting for them when we arrived. The owners are very knowledgeable of the area and gave us some great tips for our adventure.
The home was beautiful (just like their pictures show), the beds were comfortable, and having access to a gas grill, fire pit, and a balcony with a gorgeous panoramic view really made this a wonderful vacation. I will definitely be back.
