“Villa Clara -- Pictures can't capture the magic” My family and I (husband, kids ages 19, 16 and 11) had the good fortune to stay at Villa Clara this June. Wow. From the breathtaking view (kitchen to outdoor dining to Mediterranian), to the picture perfect pool, this is one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed. The house is perfect, the property is in town, which we like. An easy walk to the town center where you can buy fresh bread, pastries, pizza, fruits and vegetables and meat from the butcher. Also, there are three great restaurants for dinner -- so hard to decide because the kitchen at the Villa is amazing and there is also an outdoor pizza oven. The location of the house is also great if you want to take day trips to the Cote d'Azur or Italy. The only downside is that the pool, surrounded by mountains, is hard to leave! This is a truly amazing place. Also, the house manager, Benoit is a treat. He and his wife Corrinne own a bed and breakfast in town. We took a cooking class one morning from them and it was a highlight. Pictures do not do this property justice -- it is too beautiful to property capture.

Sea View of Cote D'Azur, Superb Pet-Friendly Villa
Words do not do justice to the superlative view.

We have recently returned from a fabulous stay in a Villa Clara. The setting is unsurpassable. The villa is just steps away from the most atmospheric French village of St Jeannet. So that meant fresh croissants and pain chocolate every morning with steaming hot coffee while sitting out on the terrace overlooking the hill towns of St Paul de Vence down across to Nice, over to antibes and out to sea. Villa Clara is more than a comfortable holiday villa with all the expected amenities, it is also a home away from home. We were torn between staying and enjoying the villa, the pool and surrounding garden or making excursions to the many enchanting hilltop top towns. We were spoilt for choice with the art exhibitions and art galleries. For the sporting enthusiasts, there was much to choose from with nearby rivers and mountains providing walking, climbing as well as water based activities. As we were holidaying with family which included toddler and baby we enjoyed just hearing about what we could consider for another visit. The 'team' that look after Villa Clara make it all too easy. Benoit and Corinne so caring and such great back up. Even the taxi driver that was recommended was fantastically helpful. And then there was Nice. Only half an hour away. So we enjoyed the contrast to our country idyll with a day out of busy provincial big city life with a memorable lunch of shellfish in the famous flower market in the old town. I would recommend a car if for no other reason than shopping for groceries. Although St Jeannet can provide excellent meats, vegetables, bakery and pharmacy the other shopping is best done in the lower village which is only minutes away but a steep climb home. But there is a very good bus service once you have figured out how to read the time tables. A final word for the restaurants, bars and general bonhomie in St Jeannet. All excellent, friendly and contributed to making our stay memorable. We hope very much to return to St Jeannet. … see more
