“Great Location in Historic Dutch House” We loved our stay at the art apartment! It is so colorful and creative with so many wonderful pieces of artwork, sculpture, antiques and items from their exotic travels. It is located on a quiet street with lovely gardens and trees in back. The location is very walkable to most sites. Using the trams was easy and the drivers are helpful and nice. Our hosts, Robert & Anna couldn't have been more helpful to us in many ways, including: help with nearby restaurant recommendations, food markets, laundry, museums, the Nine Streets shopping area, trams, and more. We found the apartment to be very comfortable, with a large, well-equipted kitchen, a separate shower room with very nice glass tiling, and lots of space. . We would definitely stay there again and recommend to friends.

“Great location with fantastic host” Daniel was great from the moment I send inquiry. His response was immediate and very helpful. He send us links to museums, railway, how to get to his house and even tried to help my husband to find his roots .We took taxi for 15.00 euro and Daniel greeted us right outside and brought our luggage in. Room overlooks nice green area with a lot of light. House is immaculate and we felt like we were visiting an old friend. Our tea cups were washed everyday and Daniel was always there to help and answer our questions. We had all that we needed and felt at home. His advise on buying cell phone was the best thing we did which made our European trip so much easier.

“Comfortable, clean, warm and fabulous!” We were visiting amsterdam for a friends 30th Birthday party. In the past we always stayed in hotels closer to the action but this time we wanted to try a more authentic experience. We rented one of the apartments for 4-5 days. It was better than the photographs, better than we could have imagined. The two hosts, Jan and Jan were so lovely, so friendly and made us feel very welcome. The location was great. We really enjoy walking through the neighborhoods and seeing the different architecture and sites. Local shops for milk or food are not far from the apartment and the kitchen facilities are great. We had a great time, relaxed and really enjoyed ourselves. We'll be back again!

Amsterdam apartment

“Superb location with everything we needed.” Sunny apartment suited us very well. Simon was very welcoming and helpful on our arrival and the flat provide all we needed for a comfortable stay in amsterdam. We especially appreciated the well stocked kitchen and food in the fridge. No need to dash to the supermarket, which is just across the canal. The location was superb for albert Cyup market, shops, pubs and restaurants on Utrechsest, museums, and transport. We loved the area which was interesting without being too touristy ! Sunny apartment was quirky and homely and we got used to the very steep stairs! All in all we would recommend this apartment for a genuine amsterdam experience.

About Amsterdam

Amsterdam is the capital city of the Netherlands and one of the most visually appealing cities in all of Europe, known for its picturesque canals throughout the city. Whether you want to take advantage of the world-famous partying in the Red Light District, the many museums throughout the Museum Quarter, or the beautiful architecture in the Old Center, this Dutch gem has it all. The majority of the tourist attractions fall within four distinct districts: The Old Center, which is the oldest and most visited area of the city; Canal Ring, the historical part of Amsterdam and labeled as a UNESCO World Heritage Site; Jordaan, a working class neighborhood full of boutiques and galleries featuring the work of upcoming artists; and Plantage, a more residential area full of parks and gardens.

Here are a few suggestions of things to do in Amsterdam:

  • Take a canal cruise: Several different companies offer these cruises, which usually last from one to two hours.
  • Red Light District: The Red Light District is a historical area of Amsterdam featuring the oldest church in the city.
  • Van Gogh Museum: This museum features the largest collection of Van Gogh paintings and drawings in the world.
  • Observe the Architecture: The Old Center is a great place to admire the city's architecture since many of the buildings and houses date back to medieval times.

Although Amsterdam can certainly be visited year round, the biggest events in the city take place during the summer months. These include the Amsterdam International Fashion Week in July, when the city hosts runway shows with designs from top Dutch and European fashion designers; Uitmarkt, the opening of the cultural season during the last weekend of August; and the Holland Festival in June, celebrating the birth of Holland as a country. Luckily, no matter what time of year you visit, it's easy to find a vacation rental in Amsterdam. Choose from a variety of types of homes including spacious condos, luxury villas, and trendy apartments with picturesque views of the city.

Nice, relaxed and really cosy

This accomadation is beautifully and advantageously located in amsterdam. it's a super-nice place to be: cosy, clean and really comfy. and you'll get good coffee on top (and a fully equipped kitchen). ;) there's also access to a lovely garden. The owners are friendly, helpful and courteous. we (a group of 4 girls) can only recommend this place. definitely an awesome place to stay!!see more
Palm I, luxury in the Jordaan
Met all our expectations, excellent rental

We stayed for a total of 13 days in Palm apartment I, in two installments, at the end of august and at the end of September. Jan Carel and Jan-Willem were very gracious and helpful hosts going above and beyond the call of duty with their hospitality. The apartment is as described, on the first floor (in the us it would be the second floor), requiring climbing one floor of typical European spiral stairs. Jan-Willem helped us with our luggage, so we had no problems. The apartment is spacious, light and very comfortable and very clean. It has everything one needs when away from home, including a washer and a dryer. The Internet was very fast. The neighborhood is safe and quiet, which allowed us to sleep with open windows. We found in the fridge bottles of water and beer and a few cans of soda. In addition our hosts surprised us with supplies that included a pack of delicious Dutch waffles (local specialty), coffee pods, sugar, tea, etc. Two Saturday markets are within 10 minutes of walking, they were a major attraction for us. Two large supermarkets are also within 10 minutes of walking. Should you come from the airport, if you do not have a lot of luggage, you can save a bundle by taking the very fast train to the Central Station and then bus 18 or 21 to Willemstraat station. From there the apartment is about 5-7 minutes of walking. Otherwise, it took us about 20 minutes to walk to Central Station from where one can take buses, trams, trains to most places - if needed. Most attractions in central amsterdam are easy to walk to. The apartment is highly recommended and we would be happy to return if again in amsterdam.see more
A Sunny Apartment in Amsterdam Centre and a 2014 TripAdvisor Winner!!
Lovely central, yet quiet base for a trip to amsterdam.

This apartment was exactly what we wanted for our stay in amsterdam. Comfortable, clean and stocked with, 'the basics' as well enough food to make a very pleasant breakfasts. Before arriving I had been corresponding with Simon by email, he'd advised us on the best way to get to the apartment, via taxi and three different routes we could have taken by public transport. He'd sent me information on what was going on in the city and things that we might like to do. This meant that when we got to amsterdam we were well prepared for our time there. Simon was a very welcoming and charming host. He talked us through everything in the apartment and finally through a map giving clear and concise directions as to where everything was in relation to the apartment. I travelled with my parents who occupied the main part of the apartment, but I had my own separate area up a flight of stairs. This gave me my own space if I needed it and my own bathroom which was great. The only warning I would give to anyone is about the steps, they are several, small and steep! The apartment was exactly what we wanted, the sheets and towels could do with a bit of a refresh and the kitchen drawers could do with a bit of a clear out (there were some items in there we could simply not decipher) but other than that everything was great! We were also very pleased to find two episodes of Midsomer Murders on the DVD shelf :) brilliant.see more

Quite Garden View Room
Great Host; Great Ambassador

Now three weeks in a city and culture you know virtually nothing about shall we say requires necessities over and above those of a fun filled weekend visit. My stay I am happy to say exceeded my expectations, largely do too Daniel’s hospitality. Daniel consistently made every effort to insure I was comfortable, but also well informed regarding Amsterdam and its culture. Questions (and I had many) were answered in detail without reservation, and alternative suggestion were offered freely. Daniel is a highly organized professional, and yet has the warmth, intelligence and sense of humanity you rarely find while traveling. The accommodations are immaculate, comfortable, everything advertised and more! The location was perfect for my stay as I could be anywhere in the city (main attractions) within 15-20 minutes by tram, and when exhausted out of the crowd quickly. Better yet the necessities of living were all with a 3 block walk, should I simply need groceries or my morning coffee with Wi-Fi at the local coffee house. Bottom line, I highly recommend Daniel’s Garden room, and even more important Daniel himself. You won’t find a better host, and for that matter ambassador to the beautiful City of Amsterdam! I can’t imagine staying somewhere else on my definite return.see more
