“Great off the beaten path spot to relax!” My husband and I were travelling with friends from Europe and wanted to overnight somewhere between Cheyenne and Deadwood. The Bear Creek Inn was a super place for us as no hassle and relaxation was at the top of our list. The property is conveniently located but does require a short drive off the main highway. The guest house was clean, comfortable and very affordable. Peggy and Doug were absolutely delightful and Peggy provided a wonderful homestyle dinner and breakfast. Unfortunately, we did not have the time to enjoy the Scheer's working ranch. We would definitely choose to stay there again.

“Absolutely Beautiful!” Our extended family of twelve people, ages 13-72 yrs, really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. It was the ideal location for visiting both Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. Teton Village was just a 5 minute walk away from the house. And the media room was the perfect spot to watch our whitewater rafting video after our trip down the Snake River. We would love to come back again!

About Wyoming

With rambling cowboys, galloping rodeos and two of the U.S.'s most intriguing national parks, Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons, a vacation in Wyoming is not for the faint at heart. The bulk of attractions lie in the northwestern corner, which is where one can experience epic skiing, rafting, hiking and camping. Regardless of your preferred mode of transportation, whether it is ski, board, raft, horse or foot, you are sure to have an unparalleled experience in Wyoming.

Some of the places you will want to visit include:

  • Jackson: This town is a funky cultural bubble where glam meets grit personalities. Located in the dramatic valley of Jackson Hole, high up in the Teton Mountain range, this is the place to start off your Wyoming travels. With spectacular jagged cliffs surrounding the town, ski-bums, cowboys, mountaineers and travelers alike are irresistibly drawn to the alchemy of this scenic beauty.
  • Yellowstone National Park: With its exquisite natural surroundings and abundance of outdoor activities, this place is a dream for wildlife lovers. There are breathtaking geysers and the bubbling Fountain Paint Pots sure to surprise and impress everyone who sees them.
  • Casper: For history lovers, Fort Casper Historical Grounds, a former confederate trading post, is a must. It has been beautifully restored and features live re-enactments. The National Historic Trails Center is another attraction that provides a wealth of information on pioneer trails and the difficulties that early settlers faced.
  • Thermopolis: As host to one of the world's biggest mineral hot springs and the Wyoming Dinosaur Center, this town offers plenty of relaxation and education. There are also a number of spas to keep travelers revitalized here.
  • Cheyenne: This city is the state's capital, and though it offers plenty of modern amenities, it definitely evokes a sense of the Old West too. During the Frontier Days Rodeo in July and the Frontier Days Old West Museum exhibits, visitors get a firsthand glimpse of life during those days gone by.
  • Grand Teton National Park: As home to the Rocky Mountain's Teton Range peaks, this natural wonder is a sight to behold. With awe-inspiring panoramas and alpine scenery, visitors are enchanted by the surroundings. Every outdoor enthusiast will no doubt find their bliss here.

You might be a little overwhelmed by all of the choices for the great outdoors in Wyoming. So here are a few suggestions to help you navigate your way. First off, Wyoming national parks are a big draw for travelers. As described above, Yellowstone Park in particular is a very popular sight to see and experience for locals and out-of-towners alike. During the winter months, skiing Wyoming's slopes lures many people from faraway places looking to "catch some powder."

No matter what attracts you to Wyoming, finding a vacation rental that suits your needs is a synch. Whether it is a wood-side cabin in the country or a condo in downtown Jackson, visitors can make themselves at home here in the Equality State since attractions cater to every age group and budget.

Wonderful cabin in beautiful location!

We stayed here for four days and loved it. It was quiet and serene, the location was breathtaking. The cabin was clean comfortable and spacious. The restaurant next door makes an excellent steak, it was like going to a friend's house for dinner. Highly recommend staying here! … see more

The Bear Creek Inn a 3 bedroom Country Guest House
Fantastic stay, will go back

We stayed at the Bear Creek Inn in July 2012 with our two young sons. The house was very comfortable, and Peggy was the most amazing host, and fabulous cook. We really loved our time there, my boys did not want to leave. For sure we will back back sometime. Loved it, was the highlight of our two week roadtrip.see more

Great Deal

My family loves this this condo so much that we try to book it every year for our winter ski vacation. It suits our needs to a tea. Our objective is to be close to the mountain, in comfortable living quarters, and all at a reasonable rate. Getting to the mountain couldn't be more convenient. The condo is within walking distance to the mountain, and bus service is provided to the lifts if you don't feel like walking. The apartment provides all the basics: functional kitchen with all necessary cooking appliances, comfortable living room, bathroom, shower and bedroom with 2 twin beds plus a master bedroom. The pool and spa is right across the street. So after after a day of great skiing, we typically relax at the spa and then head home for dinner. All in all, this condo is a great value and is always found to be in excellent condition.see more
Ski-in/Ski-out Granite Ridge Home in Teton Village
Very nice place for a large group.

There were 16 of us, ranging in age from 2 to 62. The accommodations were very adequate. The kitchen is well furnished with appliances, utensils and cookware to prepare meals for a large group. The theatre room has a wide variety of movies to enjoy. There is laundry soap, hand soap and dish soap provided. The house was clean and nicely decorated. On the negative side: there were some comments that some of the mattresses were uncomfortable and had sheets on them that didn't fit properly so they wouldn't stay on the beds. And, the house is not air- conditioned and has no ceiling fans, so it got a little warm in the hot afternoon. There are some floor fans available that can be moved around. Overall, loved it!see more
