Situated in the heart of the Adelaide Hills, Thiele House Retreat is a secluded 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom short stay escape, sleeping up to 10 people. 4th room available with double bed plus 2 single beds.

Thiele House Retreat has a beautiful courtyard with a table that seats 12 to 14 persons and the interior table seats 8 persons. We also have large lawned gardens by the creek.

An extensive breakfast is supplied for your first mornings stay with cereal, mushrooms & tomatoes, baked beans, free range eggs, along with cheese, butter, dips, water biscuits, artisan bread, 2 litres of orange juice, 2 litres of milk etc and a bottle of Mojo Sparkling Fizz. The house has two wood burning fires with wood and kindling supplied. Thiele House has 4 bedrooms - the 4th room is accessed via the main bedroom upstairs. ( It has a double queen size bed and two additional single beds. which can be used to accommodate an extra 1 to 4 persons at a cost of $100 per person per night, to cover extra set up, linen and cleaning). Our property is on the Main Street of Hahndorf - but Thiele House is situated by the creek and is very quiet - only 100 metres or so from the historic street, shops, pubs and restaurants.

This stylish and luxurious accommodation has been designed to allow those staying to soak up the Adelaide Hills wine district and quaint Hahndorf Township, whilst taking time to relax and recharge with easy access into the city and airport.

Unable to be seen from the road, Thiele House Retreat is a unique and boutique experience like no other, with fine linens, stunning designer feature wall papers, beautifully appointed rooms, flat screen HD plasma TV and DVD player, Play Station, DVD library and stereo with USB. Blutooth etc. Open fires in both lounge and living rooms. Thiele House Retreat is located on the Main Street of Hahndorf, the oldest surviving German settlement and just 20 minutes from the CBD of Adelaide, via the freeway. Australia best wineries and cellar doors neighbour The Retreat with the likes of Landhaus Estate Cellars, La Prova Cellars, Somerled Cellars, Shaw & Smith & Nepenthe and many more, just minutes away. Head past the Cellar door towards the Retreat, walk over the babbling brook bridge and step into our gardens, green velvety grass, eucalypts, dappled sunshine in Summer, or the delightful orange blush of Autumn, a stunning location for an outdoors function, a marquee, a wedding ceremony and/or reception or a family gathering. Our secluded courtyard under the vines is also an ideal place for intimate gatherings or maybe that gourmet BBQ. Hahndorf is in the heart of the Adelaide Hills with access to the Southern Coastal Regions and the McLaren Vales or the wine regions of the Barossa & Clare Valleys. Beautiful and uncrowded leisurely drives to these areas are recommended for a relaxing and picturesque day outing. The Amy Gillett Bicycle Trail is only minutes away (we have 2 bikes available for guests) along with day walks on the Heysen Trail. Hahndorf has many fine old Pubs and restaurants along its historic street, all within a minutes walk From Thiele House Retreat. Regards Tony and Kathy.
