The village of Alaigne is in the form of an ancient “circulade” and nestles in the vineyards called Malepère.
The village boasts a bakery and small shop, post office, primary school and friendly cafe-bar and is only 3km. from a larger village with supermarket, bank, doctor, dentist and pizza bar.
Just 15 mins; away can be found the famous restaurant of Gayda ( see (website: hidden)) whilst in the other direction, the small city of Limoux boasts a large selection of shopping, bars & restaurants and is home to the famous Blanquette de Limoux the forerunner of Champagne !

In summertime, an outdoor swimming pool is open in the adjacent village of Belveze, 3km. away; whilst the town of Limoux (12km. away) famous for its Blanquette, boasts both indoor and outdoor swimming as well as many other sports & leisure including kyak/canoe river rides, tennis and horse riding. In winter, Skiing is possible just one hour away and the beach also one hour away at Narbonne.
Wine tasting and tuition and even a masterclass or quiz can be organised as can local history lectures and preparatory Holy Grail videos..
