PROPERTY:

Our cozy family town house has been restored to the highest of standards keeping the Minorcan traits offering a unique setting for a truly relaxing holiday. Spacious and bright rooms, fully furnished and equipped, with comfortable outdoor living and a garage, suitable all seasons. We have created a home with all the comforts and amenities that you could wish for. The house has 4 bedrooms (2 double size beds, two rooms with twin beds and one cot) and 3 family bathrooms. These are simple, modern and fitted with showers. The bedrooms are cosy, with new comfortable beds and quality bedlinen. You enter the house through an impressive large open-plan living area with stone walls and an impressive stone arch and old beams opening out to the dinning room and kitchen areas. The living area is spacious with relaxing sofas decorated with pictures of Minorca, with a TV and Hi-Fi. The kitchen is contemporary, del laid out and generously equipped. The dinning room has a large family table and seating, and leads directly out into the patio with outdoor furniture. Steps lead out from the living room up onto the bedrooms and bathrooms on the first and second floors (except for one bathroom on the ground floor). There is a wonderful roof terrace where you can enjoy a drink looking out to the panoramic views of the town.

INTERACTION WITH GUESTS:

You will be welcomed into the house and shown around so that you will become familiar with everything you need to know. As locals we have put together plenty of information about the area and are always pleased to be asked for any additional advice to make your holiday as easy and fulfilled as possible. We thoroughly respect your privacy and after making sure all your questions have been answered we will not enter the house until the end of your stay. Any visit, for example emergency repairs, will be made by prior agreement. We are able to help you in English, German, Spanish and Catalan, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

OTHER HIGHLIGHTS:

“A gift for those who want a taste of the real Menorca.”

We were absolutely delighted with our stay at Casa Bon Estar. Our hosts were very welcoming and exceptionally responsive - to the extent that, when a spectacular thunderstorm on our second night caused a power-surge that took out the induction hob in the kitchen, all it took was a simple text message to Joan and we had a brand new replacement, installed and fully functional in less than 4 hours. Try achieving that in the UK! There is no getting away from the fact that Casa Bon Estar is right in the middle of Alaior, nestled as it is in the narrow streets surrounding the 14th Century Church. However, having said that, the way the house has been renovated and redesigned means that it still feels quite private. The sun-deck on the top floor looks out to the West, so there is plenty of opportunity for sitting out in the evening with a glass or two of wine and enjoying the sunset. The fact that it is in the town means that there are plenty of useful shops for food etc. all within easy walking distance. The restaurant just across the road is good and not noisy - although if you are a fan of a really early night then do note that local businesses typically have a long break in the middle of the day and then open until late in the evening. In summer, (end of June to beginning of September) there is an evening market once a week which includes the street right outside the house - (this can have an impact if you are using the garage for your car). On the other hand we really enjoyed walking round the market and the free, live music was really very good. On the subject of the garage it is fine for a small car but could be a bit of a squeeze for anything significantly larger. (I am sure that Joan could proved measurements if required). Even if you decide not to use the garage, it's possible to pull up briefly outside the house to unload suitcases and shopping etc., without blocking the road completely. There is a free car-park within the town, just a few minutes walk away. The house is comfortably furnished; the kitchen is modern and well equipped; and there are fans in all the bedrooms for when it's hot. The wi-fi was perfectly adequate for the two of us. All in all we would definitely recommend Casa Bon Estar and look forward to staying there again in the future.

“A Beautiful Town House - Lovingly Restored & Modernised”

From the moment we booked our holiday our every expectation was exceeded. Joan Luis and his family were extremely attentive and genuine. The town house is immaculate and much time and passion had been applied to make this a dream holiday rental. Having spent many years visiting Menorca, we wanted to move inland away from the beaches and highly populated tourist areas, we were not disappointed. The town house is ideally placed in a quiet street close to everything you could need. Chemists, supermarkets and many places to eat as well as some interesting walks and an opportunity to stay in a typical Menorcan town. We enjoyed our stay so much we have booked it again for 2017 and hope to spend many years returning. Thank you Joan and your family for making our well needed holiday such a pleasant one.
