Additional Location Information

The house is site in the historic center of Alaior, third minorican town, with unique buildings such as the church of Santa Eulalia (next to the house); the Town Hall (at 50m); "Es Convent" (at 100m), a ancient religious monastir; Can Salord, a nobel house wich is the home of the UIB (a 20m), and all the tipical streets around the house.
At 5 km from the beaches on the S coast (Son Bou, and others such as Cala'n Porter, Cales Coves, Binigaus), and at 7 km from the beaches of the N coast (Addaia, Arenal d'en Castell, Son Saura, Favàritx , Cavalleria, Sa Mesquida, Alagaiarens).
The airport is at 10 km, the port of Maó at 12 Km, and the port of Ciutadella at 35 Km.

Menorca is a Biosphere Reserve, so that the environment is privileged. The "cales" (coves) of the S coast, the N virgin beaches, the pristine environments, the country side delimited for dry stone walls ("tanques") and the megalithic monuments, form a unique environment that we must learn about. Live it.
It is essential to visit the prehistoric monuments that fill the island (more than 1500), for which Menorca is on track to become a Human Heritage Site by the UNESCO. A few miles from the house, there are some of the most important ones (like Torre d'en Galmés , Torralba , Cales Coves -Alaior- Trepucó, Talatí, Curnia - Maó- , Es Tudons, Son Catlar, Cala Morell, Torrellafuda, Torretrencada -Ciutadella-, Son Mercè - Ferreries-, among many others). It's important to visit the English colonial architecture of eighteenth century (Fort Malborouhg or St. Antoni farm, where Admiral Nelson lay.
The "Camí de Cavalls" (Horse Riding Track) is a walking or horse-riding rout around the island, all along the coast (it's forbiden to do with car or motorbike). There are specialized companies in such tours. It is the best way to see the island, its unthinkable corners.
In the port of Maó and Ciutadella you can find the best restaurants, bars and clubs. In fact, there are charming restaurants around the island: in St Lluís, in Mercadal, in Ferreries, in Es MItjorn, and in Alaior. But, above all, is in Fornells, a fishing village on the coast N, where you can eat the typical "caldereta de llagosta" (lobster soup).
In many places (eg in Addaia) you can rent boats, canoes or llauts for boat trips.
