Charming Lakes retreat

Left on Feb 11, 2015 for a stay in February 2015

Just returned from a three night stay in this charming cottage in the sleepy hamlet of Storth. Located in the centre of the village, a short two minute walk from the Kent Estuary, the cottage offers everything you need for a short break in the Lakes. In spite of the very cold February weather, the cottage was warm and cosy. We had taken an extra duvet with us but this wasn't required.

A home from home

Left on Apr 25, 2014 for a stay in March 2014

A holiday property should be well located, should be comfortable and well appointed and should have owners who really take a pride in making sure you feel at home. Patti and Steve are outstanding hosts; they own a superb property and the house is perfectly situated in a quiet spot, with amazing views, …

Excellent, considerate hosting and excellent facilities

Left on Jul 20, 2013 for a stay in May 2013

The title entry says it all. There were 11 of us staying and we used the house easily with five noisy boys accommodated in one sound-proofed lounge whilst the adults enjoyed peace and quiet either in the other lounge or in the large dining area. Shops are not too far away in Grange and access to the countryside is very easy and the routes to the heart of the Lakes easy too.

nice cottage with good furnishings

Left on May 12, 2012 for a stay in April 2012

This was a really lovely cottage, with excellent furnishings and lots of great little extras. The only thing to note is that the second bedroom is at the top of a steep spiral staircase and is open-plan (i.e. with no door)- so this may not be ideal for people with young children or those requiring more privacy. Otherwise, strongly recommended.

Dunlins, Grange over Sands

Left on Dec 23, 2009 for a stay in October 2009

We found Dunlins very comfortable and the view from lounge was stunning. On our first night we found a deer in the garden. Great walks and we loved Carmel, the home of sticky toffee puddings they were great too. Restaurants in Grange over Sands were good and we found that cooking wasn`t necessary as the carry out foods were good too. We would return again, maybe earlier in the year next time.
